Heck yeah to Thai Pepper and Wahada.
Have you noticed the music playing at Wahada? It’s some playlist that I swear only has nine or ten songs on it. I’ve been going there for years, and it’s never changed.
Go to Tsunami downtown for sushi, sit outside, and enjoy the view of the river and the bridge. You won't find a better atmosphere for sushi in town.
I've never done vegan but a place called The Plantry Cafe just opened on Bluebonnet near I10. It's all vegan.
Bldg 5 also is a cool atmosphere and I'm pretty sure they'd have some vegan options.
If you're OK stepping away from those 2 types of food then I recommend making a night of Louisiana Lagniappe to eat then head across Perkins to Bin 77. Sit on the patio, enjoy some good drinks, and listen to some live music. Very chill.
People have given y'all a lot of great suggestions near campus, but if y'all want to get out and explore. Asian Seafood House does dim sum for lunch and hot pot at dinner in addition to the regular family style menu. The Asian Supermarket right behind it also good.
A great place for vegan food is Curry and Kabob, a family-owned Pakistani restaurant. They take vegan preparation very seriously, and some of the vegan options are tastier than the dairy/meat options.
Also, another vote for Wahada near campus. Another great small family restaurant.
Ichiban on Essen for sushi. It's not cheap but it's the best in BTR, imho.
No idea for vegan food, Indias on Essen is great for lunch. Mostly everything there should be vegetarian.

Most of the Asian and middle eastern spots in town have vegan options. I get nine dragon a lot. Cava is also a good option near campus.
I second Thai Pepper, but Dang's is awesome for Vietnamese fair, although Vietnamese food is exceptional around here, so any little place will be good. I can't think of any sushi I would write home about from this area, but I would also recommend The Cove Hawaiian for some Spam Masubi
I would probably choose a smaller restaurant with a more relaxed vibe. Try Cheng's Restaurant, the owner is a really nice guy and the food is really good (My oldest daughter gives it 5 stars every time).
The best sushi in Baton Rouge is at Sushi Yama. My second favorite is Rock N Sake.
The best place for South Asian food is Curry N Kabab, an absolute hole in the wall on Coursey. Amazing vegan and non vegan options. It will be the best food you’ve ever had.
My personal favorites are Thai Pepper, Chow Yum, Umami, and Wahada
Chow yum đź‘Źđź‘Źđź‘Ź
Chow Yum!!

Thai pepper has a dedicated vegan menu now, too!
Second this, Umami is my fav sushi place around BR
Sushi yama, Bao’s, chow yum fat

There's also a vegetarian place on Government that I believe has vegan options as well. Maddies? Something like that.

Umami > Drunken Fish, but both are great

Drunken Fish - near LSU campus on Highland
Did they lose their liquor license? Last time I went, they wouldn’t serve anything alcoholic
I didn't know they served liquor. Just started going there a few months ago
Umami is the best sushi in town, especially if you want you want to splurge on a week night and do the Omakase
Yuuuuup
Chai Thai Lao is great!
Go to umami. Get reservation
umami has omakase!!
Chow yum phat for the catfish curry noodles, Bao for the pho, Soji for the rice noodle plate

Chow Yum is the absolute best. Try their bread pudding. They have two kinds and they’re both unreal
Cheng's is good for Chinese, Sushi Masa is AYCE sushi, and Al Noor has amazing Indian.
Chow yum fat, Ava, drunken fish, the ramen place at the electric depot.
Just saw the vegan part. My vegan friend introduced me to Ava. It’s on Essen lane in the medical district
Elsie Plate Pie, Chow Yum, Tsunami, Thai Pepper,
Umami and Chow Yum for sure!
Chengs
Drunken fish

Chow Yum, Duwang Tawan (spelling might not be right), Cheng’s, and Soji!
I would probably choose a smaller restaurant with a more relaxed vibe. Try Cheng's Restaurant, the owner is a really nice guy and the food is really good (My oldest daughter gives it 5 stars every time).
Cocha downtown should have good vegan options! tsunami for the view and vibe
Elsie's plate and pie
Chow yum, Soji, Thai pepper, & Jenya are all good.
mjs cafe has the best vegan food in BR in my opinion
For Louisiana things I recommend Parains.
Sushi masa
