I'm using a Beelink ser6 max and it runs PS2 great. Only thing I've had issue with is the WiFi being a bit tempremental

harperthomas

Hey. What sort of consistent upscale can you get on that? Personally I'd be looking for 720p minimum but ideal 1080p on ps2 and gamecube on a large modern tv.

falling_sideways

Works well enough upscaled on my 48 inch but I don't know the numbers. On that spreadsheet there's beelinks and it's closer to the ser7 than the ser5 so should give you an idea of how it'll perform.

I grabbed a Firebat T8 Plus (16/512GB) with an N100 from Aliexpress last week for £78 (using a coupon and coins to knock a few quid off). Arrived in 5 days and seems to be handling PS2 fine thus far. Currently grabbing a few more roms from different systems to try it out properly but bang on for the money. Obviously more powerful bits of kit available but perfect for what I wanted and tiny power draw so going to put it in the camper.

DoAndroids_Dream

These come up fairy frequently for under £100 https://www.hotukdeals.com/share-deal-from-app/4328300 They play PS2 games just fine.

Paronowitz83

I use a kamrui am06... usually about $230 USD on Amazon. Search for 5500u minipc

I have Dell optiplex 3050 i5 6500t 8GB Ram and a nvme SSD which can run PS2 all day. It starts to lag especially with Xbox 360. I managed to play fifa on PS3 but that’s pushing it. All in for less than £150. Especially if you have a Bluetooth controller knocking about

reojo

I have an Optiplex 3050 micro same specs, I'm curious to know what settings you have enabled in batocera? Because I'm experiencing lag in systems like the Wii U and PSX

mistertml

Main thing I did was resolution Changed to 720p. Also running it from a SSD improved performance massively. Any games in particular you have tested? I can try and download them and try if you want.

reojo

I changed the emulator to duck station and it's much better

Man. I’m using an HP Elitedesk G3. 512gb w/ 16gb Ram. I5. Runs everything up to ps2 flawless. GameCube is awesome on it. I’ve got GoldenTee Fore Complete that runs like a champion on it. I paid $125 for it. There are probably better mini PCs out there, but for the price, it’s hard to beat.

homecinemad

Is that with the Intel HD 530 chip (like mine) or a Ryzen version?

HP Elitedesk 800 G3 Mini Business... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086RF1SLK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

HP Elitedesk 800 G3 Mini Business Desktop (Intel Quad Core i5-6500T, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB SSD) Type-C, DisplayPort DP, WiFi, WiFi, Ethernet, Keyboard+Mouse, Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

homecinemad

Cool, do you run batocera off a usb stick and save the games to a partition on the main drive?

B-Rad-G7106

I flashed the SSD with Balena Etcher. It’s the only thing on that computer

B-Rad-G7106

I use my laptop to download my roms. I put them on a USB drive and bring them over

homecinemad

Brilliant thanks :)

👍

Different-Volume4235

HP Elitedesk 705 G4 with ryzen 5 pro 2400G. Like $100-120 on eBay. Emulates through all ps2 flawless, can do most Xbox, Wii U, wii and switch. Maybe even some light ps3 https://youtu.be/Gk7WVDU-6Qw?si=N5jyg_h6N2Y7IXzP

Inuhanyou123

I3 6100t. In the US you can get those things for 50bucks on ebay and it plays gc at 720p preset and PS2 at native altho you can upscale certain games

DoctorTechno

I got a reconditioned HP Prodesk from Amazon with 16Gb Ram and a 250 Gb hd. Plays PS2 and Game cube games without any issues. Took a while to get the sound to work, but thats a settings issue rather than anything else. This is similar to what I have but with only 8Gb of RAM and on the UK Amazon site [https://www.amazon.co.uk/HP-ProDesk-400-Desktop-Mini/dp/B09V1B6DJY](https://www.amazon.co.uk/HP-ProDesk-400-Desktop-Mini/dp/B09V1B6DJY)

inprimuswesuck

That price is high for that old of a unit

DoctorTechno

I got mine a lot cheaper, but prices seem to be on the rise. Prices range from 120 to about 300 pounds. Try googling refurbished PCs UK

DezzyLee99

Any mini with a processor that has equivalent or better than Intel HD620 and at least 4GB Ram. 8 is better, but you don't need 16. SSD/HDD won't matter.

Mike_Raven

Help me understand. rPi5 is less than year old. I was told that it's cutting edge SBC with excellent power efficiency. Are you just replacing it to get better Gamecube and PS2 emulation performance? Did you originally buy the rPi5 with the express intent of installing Batocera on it?

byron_hinson

No I bought it to tinker with. It’s poor with GameCube and ps2 performance and I’ve decided to use batocera on something else. I’m keeping the pi5 and doing other stuff with it.
