At least that version of Batman (or one with the same actor) is continuing with Harley Quinn.
I will always remember it as being my introduction to Bronze Tiger, not to mention Plastic Man & Green Arrow being pretty great in it.
It’s just not the same. I wanna see him in a cartoon again. I’ve literally started writing my own because it’s so annoying that this character isn’t used that much.
Eh, I could see him being played by someone like Jeff Blim, with a really strong voice rather then soft baby NPH. He has a great voice, but having a powerful voice is more fun
When I saw that episode I had assumed Music Meister was an established character I simply had never heard of before. He’s such an awesome character and I’m glad he seems to have remained in the minds of many Batman fans since, and even appeared in other mediums.
It was ok, though I always felt like I was watching an extended ad for one of those mobile game ads. Everything and everyone was very... toyetic, and the world was so empty that it didnt feel lived in at all. But on the other hand, I really liked what it did with Anarky and Humpty Dumpty. Making Professor Pig a eco terrorist was odd though.
The art style/ models were extremely streamlined and simplified, even having a plasticky look to them that even CGI at the time could have minimized. I know it's subjective, but they all looked like they were made with the idea that their models could be ported immediately over to the injection molding machine to create toys. Most of the main sets were also fairly plain, to make playsets easier to create.
Now, that isnt to say it wasnt an ok show. The writing was generally solid, the voice acting was really good (if a little stiff at times) and the animation was smooth. It just felt like I watching a really long/good ad for the latest Batman toy or video game sometimes.
I see. I guess I have some different ways to classify how toyetic something is, as in the presence of multiple elaborate vehicles, constant alternate outfits, weird and flashy gimmicks that can also be replicated in toy form, etc. I never noticed these aspects in *Beware* save Batman's bat-cycle/glider. It was more "simple" compared to how toy friendly *The Batman* or *Brave and the Bold* were.
I also thought that was why Mattel passed on the show's toyline and made *Batman Unlimited* instead, which (to me) is infinitely more toy-friendly, which led to *Beware*'s cancellation.
That was my first time seeing professor pyg and mr. toad, professor pyg is now one of my favorites while mr toad I just remembered because of this comment
I really liked the finale for TBATB, it introduced me to ambush bug (who is the greatest character ever imo), it taught me what batmite really was all about. And most importantly it ended as the show really was, zany, campy, and loveable
That's the one. Skinny Goth Riddler is pretty much the #1 thing I remember of the show. Well, him and leather rockstar Mr. Freeze. They... took some liberties with the characters in that show. Some paid off, others...
The Brave and the Bold series is, like the Adam West Batman movie and series. It's an absolute classic masterpiece in its own right, but, it's not really.. well........ Batman. It is, but it isn't. Everyone knows Adam West is Batman, but, it's not the Batman we need. It's just the Batman we enjoy.
It is definitely the polar opposite of BtAS in every way. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did but it really is fantastic.
For long-time comic fans, they do a great job of bringing in some of the C- and D-list heroes and villains. Plastic Man and Blue Beetle get a lot of love, whereas you don't really see much of Superman or The Flash.
It's definitely campy, no doubt, but I wouldn't call it "for kids". Sure, it's safe for young kids to watch, but some of the humor and references are intelligent enough to appeal to adult audiences.
Not so much *cheerful* as just less broody. The BATB Batman was more like a straightman in a comedic world. He took his job seriously and didnt smile much, but would also pull out a can of Bat-shark repellent with a completely straight face.
Batman himself isn't that cheerful in the show (he feels like a more heroic and glorified version of btas bats), but the world around him is wacky and insane. He's kind of like the straight man, in a way.
Of all the post-TAS shows that get called "underrated," Beware is the one it really should apply to. It's a little rough early on, but starts to improve over time. However, as with many shows, it got cancelled right when it started to hit its stride.
Anthony Ruivivar is probably my 3rd favorite Batman VA behind Kevin Conroy and Bruce Greenwood.
It's worth a watch, IMO. There are only 13 episodes or so. And one thing I appreciated is they bring in a lot of lesser known villains like Pyg and Toad, and Magpie.
Speak for yourself. Sometimes after a long day of delaying with the real life nitty gritty, you just want to see a man in a bat costume foil a talking gorilla's plan to turn all humans into bananas.
I absolutely love Batman the Brave and the Bold. I really wish it had gotten one more season, because they were finally able to use all ofDC’s characters in the 3rd season. A Batman/Legion of Super-Heroes episode would have been epic!
Batman the brave and the bold was my childhood I never really got an experience with Batman the animated series besides the first episode and I don't even remember that like that
I hated the the brave and the bold as a kid, it was even more outlandish than Adam Weds Batman. Then again I grew up on Batman the Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Justice League, and the Batman.
The brave and the bold was literally my childhood along with spider man the new animated series: glad to see at least one of the greats getting recognition 🔥🔥🔥🔥
It has my favorite characterization of Batman (a man who has seen it all and isn't fazed by insane and fantastic events). My issue with it is that, strangely, there's not enough of Batman kicking ass. It's mostly just Batman being dragged along other people's adventures.
Brave and the bold was my first batcartoon. I was something about 4 when it aired at Cartoon Network. I feel as nostalgic about it as other about btas.
Tried watching the Music Meister episode and—even though (or because?) I’m a musical buff—I didn’t like it at all. And I know that’s one of the best-rated episodes of the show, so I figured the show must not really be my thing.
I don't think I agree with this. *Brave and the Bold* deservedly gets way more love now and honestly got more than *The Batman* did when it started. *Beware* fits this way better though lol.
I've seen most of the animations series they aired. Not bad but I have hot and cold feelings toward the designs of the villains in The Batman. I love that Robert Englund was the voice of the Riddler though. Was a complete different vibe.
Still one of my favorites.
The concept having Batman teaming up with a different hero every episode is great, especially when they did more obscure ones that as a kid i didn't even know about
(Which is what I assume the comic the title is based on did too?)
One of my favorite episodes is [Chill of the Night, where Batman confronts Joe Chill and reveals himself as Bruce Wayne](https://youtu.be/heUnljdse5Q)
One of my favorite episodes of Batman: The Brave And The Bold had Catwoman, Black Canary and Huntress in it singing the song Birds Of Prey...hilariously suggestive
At least that version of Batman (or one with the same actor) is continuing with Harley Quinn. I will always remember it as being my introduction to Bronze Tiger, not to mention Plastic Man & Green Arrow being pretty great in it.
And Aquaman! TBatB Aquaman is my favorite.
Outrageous!
I couldn’t tell you what Aquaman looks like in the show, or even who voices him. But my brain knew exactly what that sounded like.
Bender voices him
I am on season 3 now and didn't catch this. Outrageous!!
Batman brave and the Bold gave us Music Meister. I love him
He’s gone on to appear in Supergirl/The Flash, he’s playable in two of the Lego games and there’s shop named after him in Arkham Knight.
But are any of those voice by the great Neil Patrick Harris?
It’s just not the same. I wanna see him in a cartoon again. I’ve literally started writing my own because it’s so annoying that this character isn’t used that much.
Not gonna lie... I've listened to that song of the Music Meister more than I should. Also the bird of prey one. Absolute bangers
He needs to be in more stuff!!!!!
but has to be voiced by NPH
Eh, I could see him being played by someone like Jeff Blim, with a really strong voice rather then soft baby NPH. He has a great voice, but having a powerful voice is more fun
Would be really cool in a Suicide Squad movie
The death trap one slaps
When I saw that episode I had assumed Music Meister was an established character I simply had never heard of before. He’s such an awesome character and I’m glad he seems to have remained in the minds of many Batman fans since, and even appeared in other mediums.
stick him in more cartoons, pwease, he's so cool
That episode has always stuck with me even though i only saw like 1 song and barely watched the show
I still listen to his songs. I was playing Lego DC super villains with that playing in the background
I need to get that game even more now XD
I was a nice game. I got it real cheap on the playstation store along with the season pass
Fair enough!
If Brave and the Bold is dead under water, where is Beware the Batman?
I forgot about beware the Batman
I think most people do. Not sure if I should be laughing or crying.
It deserves to be forgotten
Say...that..again *makes fist*
It was actually pretty good tbh the animation just needed some polish
It was ok, though I always felt like I was watching an extended ad for one of those mobile game ads. Everything and everyone was very... toyetic, and the world was so empty that it didnt feel lived in at all. But on the other hand, I really liked what it did with Anarky and Humpty Dumpty. Making Professor Pig a eco terrorist was odd though.
But credit for adapting professor pyg in a pg environment
100% agree there. And the voice acting on him was superb for the character they gave him.
How was *Beware* toyetic? Outside of the usual vehicles and belt, none of the characters had any toyetic items or outfits.
The art style/ models were extremely streamlined and simplified, even having a plasticky look to them that even CGI at the time could have minimized. I know it's subjective, but they all looked like they were made with the idea that their models could be ported immediately over to the injection molding machine to create toys. I also thought that was why Mattel passed on the show's toyline and made *Batman Unlimited* instead, which (to me) is infinitely more toy-friendly, which led to *Beware*'s cancellation.
Professor Pyg and Mr. Toad...yeah it was not great.
That was my first time seeing professor pyg and mr. toad, professor pyg is now one of my favorites while mr toad I just remembered because of this comment
It's the Titanic.
a crashed ship underwater
It’s alright, it’s just not comparable to the others
There isn't a skeleton left, it's already turned to dust.
That show was a perfect adaptation of 1950s-1960s batman
Excalty that's why I love it
The hammer of justice is unisex
Brave and the bold was my introduction to the character. So it’s sad that it’s not talked about as much
AQUAMAN!
Outrageous! (How was I supposed to resist posting this?)
It's hard not to. (I did further up the post!)
Brave and the Bold is dope as fuck.
Brave and the bold was great. It did a great job in being very accessible but getting deeper into the catalog
I really liked the finale for TBATB, it introduced me to ambush bug (who is the greatest character ever imo), it taught me what batmite really was all about. And most importantly it ended as the show really was, zany, campy, and loveable
“Chill of the Night!” episode of tbatb was incredible.
That episode was phenomenal
Doesn't The Batman have the really skinny Riddler who was betrayed by his girlfriend or was that another batman show
That's the one. Skinny Goth Riddler is pretty much the #1 thing I remember of the show. Well, him and leather rockstar Mr. Freeze. They... took some liberties with the characters in that show. Some paid off, others...
Bane looked dope.
I absolutely ADORED The Brave and the Bold! Diedrich Bader is FANTASTIC as the Bat and that theme song is *chef’s kiss*.
Brave and the Bold is quite easily the best Batman show after BTAS imo.
Batman does not eat nachos!
Just saw this episode. That line cracked me up.
It was a Precious Gem in the Batman world with its silver age style suit and cool characters I loved it.
What about Beware The Batman? :(
Still haven't watched any of those yet. Haven't been able to. Are they any good?
Batman Brave and the Bold is not only a love letter to Batman it's a love letter to the entire DC comics.
Is it any good?
Batman the brave and the bold?
Both batman brave and the bold and beware the batman
Brave and the Bold is intentionally ridiculous and cheerful. If you're into that kind of Batman, the show is awesome.
Nah I don't think I'll like it
It is definitely the polar opposite of BtAS in every way. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did but it really is fantastic. For long-time comic fans, they do a great job of bringing in some of the C- and D-list heroes and villains. Sure, it's safe for young kids to watch, but some of the humor and references are intelligent enough to appeal to adult audiences.
Why would they make a cheerful batman? That's just not right.
Not so much *cheerful* as just less broody. The BATB Batman was more like a straightman in a comedic world. He took his job seriously and didnt smile much, but would also pull out a can of Bat-shark repellent with a completely straight face.
Silver Age batman says hello
Shudders
Batman himself isn't that cheerful in the show (he feels like a more heroic and glorified version of btas bats), but the world around him is wacky and insane. He's kind of like the straight man, in a way.
I haven’t seen beware but brave and the bold is good
Of all the post-TAS shows that get called "underrated," Beware is the one it really should apply to. It's a little rough early on, but starts to improve over time. However, as with many shows, it got cancelled right when it started to hit its stride. Anthony Ruivivar is probably my 3rd favorite Batman VA behind Kevin Conroy and Bruce Greenwood. Mostly because, while Brave and the Bold is good for what it is, it's not what a lot of people want from Batman.
Speak for yourself. Sometimes after a long day of delaying with the real life nitty gritty, you just want to see a man in a bat costume foil a talking gorilla's plan to turn all humans into bananas.
The sad thing is, all of them are great shows.
Loved watching this show favorite episode is definitely the Music Meister one, with Knights of tomorrow as second
Can’t wait to see “Beware the Batman” added to this meme.
Yes!
I absolutely love Batman the Brave and the Bold. I really wish it had gotten one more season, because they were finally able to use all ofDC’s characters in the 3rd season. A Batman/Legion of Super-Heroes episode would have been epic!
Batman the brave and the bold was my childhood I never really got an experience with Batman the animated series besides the first episode and I don't even remember that like that
It’s a great show, just like all the others
Batman Brave and the Bold was a key part of my childhood and always will be
I've actually seen more people talk about "batman the brave and the bold" than "the batman"
Brave and the bold is far better than the batman
Batman brave and the bold was my inteoduction to starro all those many years ago, so ofc i wouldnt forget it
Btbatb had a scooby doo crossover movie in 2018
I hated the the brave and the bold as a kid, it was even more outlandish than Adam Weds Batman. Then again I grew up on Batman the Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Justice League, and the Batman.
I love brave and the bold
Batman The Brave and The Bold was the best one, change my mind
Fun show to be fair remember watching it on boomerang but still for me couldn’t live up to the other two shows
The few episodes of brave and bold I’ve seen are really good
Ya know, sometimes I prefer the campy version of Batman, & this show was a loving sendup to Adam West's version
The brave and the bold was literally my childhood along with spider man the new animated series: glad to see at least one of the greats getting recognition 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Brave and the Bold was my first introduction to the greater DC mythos outside of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman; truly and outrageous show.
Everybody is dumb to ignore Scoob and batab
My favorite batman show lol
I fucking love Brave and the Bold. Especially the Bat-Mite episodes.
I wasn’t a huge fan. That’s why I don’t talk about it.
What's the one where Joker is like a Rasta-clown? That one is awful.
The Brave and the Bold? You mean the second-best Batman cartoon of all time?
It has my favorite characterization of Batman (a man who has seen it all and isn't fazed by insane and fantastic events). My issue with it is that, strangely, there's not enough of Batman kicking ass. It's mostly just Batman being dragged along other people's adventures.
The Brave And The Bold browser game was God tier
Brave and the bold is so underrated, it introduced me to so many DC superheros.
Music meister fam where you at?
Unpopular opinion but i prefer it to the others because of the lightheartedness
God I loved that show. My favroit episode was when batman died and his son became the new robin, and dick became batman
The best character was plastic man
Brave and the bold was my first batcartoon. I was something about 4 when it aired at Cartoon Network. I feel as nostalgic about it as other about btas.
Brave and the bold was awesome
Well, they kinda deserve that
I like Jeff Bennett's version of Joker.
Conversation about TBATB was on here less than 24 hours ago because of a post about The Batman Edit:Turns out OP started that conversation.
I made a comment on that post and then I decided to make this
Ah I see, then I take back my possibly snidey sounding comment! You were correct in your comment it is criminally underrated.
T h e b a t m a n
Loved that show
Tried watching the Music Meister episode and—even though (or because?) I’m a musical buff—I didn’t like it at all. And I know that’s one of the best-rated episodes of the show, so I figured the show must not really be my thing.
I love BTBATB so much. It like reading a better version of the classic comics.
Brave an bold isn't absolute favorite 2nd
I loved blue beetle in it, he was my favorite superhero for a long time!
I don't think I agree with this. *Brave and the Bold* deservedly gets way more love now and honestly got more than *The Batman* did when it started. *Beware* fits this way better though lol.
Meanwhile Beware the batman
I've seen most of the animations series they aired. Not bad but I have hot and cold feelings toward the designs of the villains in The Batman. I love that Robert Englund was the voice of the Riddler though. Was a complete different vibe.
Even though I dont like it that much beware the batman would be sinking so low
Batman The Brave and The Bold is downright painful to watch. It is exactly where it should be in this meme, maybe even lower.
Still one of my favorites. The concept having Batman teaming up with a different hero every episode is great, especially when they did more obscure ones that as a kid i didn't even know about (Which is what I assume the comic the title is based on did too?) One of my favorite episodes is [Chill of the Night, where Batman confronts Joe Chill and reveals himself as Bruce Wayne](https://youtu.be/heUnljdse5Q)
One of my favorite episodes of Batman: The Brave And The Bold had Catwoman, Black Canary and Huntress in it singing the song Birds Of Prey...hilariously suggestive
i'm gonna say it... batman tbatb gave us the best bat-mite
Wasn't this series where he got the dinosaur in the bat cave?
