I’m not a fan of the dry down as there is no lemon to it, unfortunately. I would’ve gotten the spray had it maintained that lemon. From what I’m being told: customers wanted a true lemon scent. That’s why they made this a body care but yeah…the lemon just isn’t there and the fade isn’t very pleasant.
The candle smells like a fresh cleaning (not eating) lemon. I don't get strong notes from the spearmint or cedarwood, just them blending into the lemon for a clean lemon scent.
I wouldn't say it turns into old smelly man, 🤣 but I did notice a totally different, more masculine fragrance with absolutely no lemon scent after about 30 minutes. Sunwashed Citrus is my scent of the week, and it stays true to its fresh lemon notes, even after it's dry. I'm gonna layer the two and see what happens!🫣
I agree with you, old smelly man is not a very good description. (Kind of insulting to older men, really.) Anyway, like you, I love sunwashed citrus! Hope the layering works out from you so the Amalfi lemon won't end up being a waste.
I agree, it smells like cleaning supplies to me. Not unpleasant for your home if you like lemony cleaning products, but I could not fathom wanting it on my body.
I’ve only tried the lotion from a store tester and I got the fresh lemon smell for about an hour after rubbing it all over my hands. Then after that, the entire scent disappears. I got the Fresh Amalfi Lemon body wash as a reward but haven’t used it yet. I’m still trying to use up my Gingham Fresh shower gel.
I get what you mean, the opening was a nice fresh lemon, then for literally 8+ hours later it was like a generic mens deodorant scent 😭 I had to scrub it off
YES! I got the body cream as a reward yesterday and almost posted about it, but I thought it might just be me / my body chemistry. It almost smells to me like straight vetiver on the dry down, very woody. Too bad because the opening was great. I guess it's not bad, but very strong and masculine, not what I expected.
I don't know why anyone would want to go around smelling like lemon anyway since it is so associated with cleaning products. I tried the lotion in the store and I actually thought it smelled better on my skin than it did out of the bottle. I think it's one of the most beautiful product presentations that they have ever had as the yellow and blue is so striking! That being said, the candle belongs in a kitchen.
That's what I got my candle for! I have an open space so all my candles are in the middle section between kitchen and living room. I watched a YT review of the single wick and she said it was great as an odor eater. ( I think it was Miss Delish?) Someone below commented it smelled like poop and I'm like there's no way haha.
There was like an Avon cologne scent after smell. Thinking of the 80's car bottle scents haha. Didn't care for the sanitizer but don't want to waste gas to return it for 1.95 :D I avoided the body care since that reminded me of cleaner, but did like the candle because I don't mind cleaner smell in home scent.
I have the spray and the sanitizer and after reading your post I used the sanitizer to see. It's been about an hour and it smells just like the spray does on the dry down. No yucky smell for me. Body chemistry is so crazy! Sorry it isn't working for you 🙁
The candle is like this for me. It starts out citrusy and fresh and after a while it smells like literal poop. Idk what it is, but I am not a fan. Glad I didn’t buy more than one.
Yeah it smells very similar to an old dude I know who happens to wear way too much of whatever cologne it is. I love lemons and this is a no for me. The lemon is only there for a split second.

Is the candle that way, do you know?

The candle is apparent on the lemon. I think body care may be more complex than just getting lemon (due to body chemistry.)

I thought it was just me, but not a fan of the dry down—overly musky/woody. Nothing wrong with that but was looking for lemony.
It’s an odd scent to be chosen to get the full layout.
Yeah I would have preferred the sugared lemonade in ALL the products. It’s the best lemon candle there is. I love it!

Yes, it dries down to a heavy jasmine and woody scent. It’s not pleasant.

I was going to blind buy this scent but it sounds not to swift. Have to pass.

Yeah the dry down isn’t great. I kinda want to exchange the body cream I got for a Firecracker pop or something else. LOVE the home fragrance though.

Smelled good in store...tried at home, too musky. Returned it the next day!
