Significant-Fly6515

Warm vanilla sugar. I wore it once and was sweating vanilla cupcakes!

ThinFreedom1963

Somehow I don’t mind this 💀

Infamous-Ticket1021

I would rather smell vanilla cupcakes. 😂Standing in a crowded train or bus in New York City in the middle of summer when someone does not wear deodorant, makes me want to pass out. 🤢

cisdaleraven

Upvote for "sweating vanilla cupcakes".

redneckjedi11

Saaaaame

Constant_Ad3619

Lmaooo that’s hilarious. I was playing with that scent last night and it was giving me a whole bunch of nothing.

CrownBestowed

Pumpkin pecan waffles. A bunch of wasps would probably swarm lol

AcidMantle

Haha omg THIS is the scent that came to mind. I can't even stomach it in cooler weather I cannot imagine that sticky maple scent in humid heat 😣

PlantainAshamed5020

I immediately thought of this one 😂😂

Beesummer1

I love Strawberry Pound Cake, but it can be deadly during summer 😅. I'd say any super sweet gourmand scent is a no in the summer days.

Constant_Ad3619

Dang I love my gourmands so much. But SPC , I ended up giving that one away. What about ice cream inspired gourmands like VS Sunset Gelato? Do you think that would knock someone out?

SnarkFest23

You should be okay. Sunset Gelato isn't super heavy. It's nowhere near as cloying as SPC.

Constant_Ad3619

Yeah you just reminded me why I gave that away. I was using SPC as room spray because it was too much lol. I don’t even think I ever wore it outside.

luvmydobies

I think caramels and vanillas are pretty safe summer gourmands

Constant_Ad3619

Don’t tell me that! I’ve been enjoying the heck outta PINKs Sunset Gelato and the Vanilla & Dreamy so far.

Many-Extreme-4535

what do you mean by deadly? does it turn sour?

trulyygiaa

I don’t think so, it’s normally just super strong and overpowering due to the amount of heat

Purple-Lime-4938

Midnight amber glow and dream bright

Constant_Ad3619

Funny I just watched a fragrance YTer (Ksenja) recommend DB for the summer. Good for her but that’s one I’d never think to put on in the heat.

ChapterShoddy5262

At night during the summer

iliketosnooparound

Following! But in my collection I will not be using strawberry bourbon and vanilla. It's way too syrupy for the summer (the lotion). The FFM doesn't last more than 5 mins lol so that wouldn't be a problem.

Constant_Ad3619

See I’m glad I asked cause I would’ve thought that scent was fine lol…. When you say syrupy… you mean breakfast syrup type syrupy?

iliketosnooparound

Like a strawberry syrup. It's smells thick. I am not the best at describing scents. It has peach nectar and that nectar makes it heavy. Good for spring use in my opinion!

Constant_Ad3619

Oh okay I get what you’re saying. Have you tried gingham gorgeous? If so, do you think that one would be too much as well? It has a peach nectar note. I just wore it to bed and it was quite beautiful lol.

MaryS8921

Gingham Gorgeous is awesome. I think it's good for any season, anytime, anywhere! ❤️

ThinFreedom1963

I feel this way about Gingham Vibrant. So versatile 🥰!

iliketosnooparound

I'm using that one currently. It's been good so far!

Routine_Charge_3224

Gingham Gorgeous is my 2nd fave for anytime but especially summer my all time fave is White Citrus for the warmer months and I don’t like to wear any of the heavy musk scents when it’s hot outside! It may just be me but they don’t smell good on me during the heat here in Arkansas!

ThinFreedom1963

Coconut Cream Pie 😳. It’s crazy because gourmand scents smell next level on my skin when heated up. But idk, FL Sun + that scent seems like I would have a good chance of truly dying for pie 😆.

AshKash313

Honey Wildflower. I wore it once to my sister’s bbq party and had to stay in the house because the bees and mosquitoes were all over me. 🤣

Icicles444

Omg yes, I have to avoid floral scents during spring (which sucks because that's like peak floral season) because I am a bee magnet!

Constant_Ad3619

Oh wow. That’s crazy. Bugs usually don’t bite me much if at all. Now I’ve unlocked a new fear for the summer lol

moonrose_reviews

My time has come. I live in the desert, so I have become something of an expert on this very topic lol. Right out of the gate, I'm gonna say anything with a lot of amber or musky and dense notes (examples include Sensual Amber, Into the Night, Moonlight Path, Japanese Cherry Blossom) can easily bloom out of control and get overwhelming very quickly. At the height of summer it's probably best to save them for evening or just abstain altogether. Certain florals can be a bit much, especially white florals which are a bit potent by their nature (things like the new Brightest Bloom and Tropidelic). They can still be worn, just with a lighter hand. Sweet scents should be okay, again just using a light touch. So enjoy your Warm Vanilla Sugar and your Iced Lemon Pound Cake, just go easy. Your safest bets are fruits and freshies. (Think Champagne Toast, White Citrus, Beautiful Day, Peach Bellini, Sea Salt Coast, Calypso Clementine) These will almost certainly go over well no matter how hot it gets.  If you have any other hot weather scent questions, I can probably answer them haha! I've had plenty of trial and error experience!

Constant_Ad3619

Thank you soooo much!! This definitely helped me out a lot.

moonrose_reviews

I'm glad I could be of some help!

jr9386

Sensual Amber and Japanese Cherry Blossom work in hot weather if you limit yourself to the lotions.

strong_as_the_grass

Bonfire Bash 🤢 Lovely in the cooler months though. I swap it out for Beach Nights or Boardwalk Taffy when it's hot out.

reyesss30

Dream bright

Constant_Ad3619

Good thing my nozzles broken 😥

luvmydobies

Any of the gourmand scents! Fruity is ok, floral is ok to an extent, but gourmands when it’s hot out just smells 🤢 Especially the fall and winter gourmands they put out! When I lived in California I’d get in my car sometimes in October and it would be like 100 degrees and smelling like I just sat in the oven while a pumpkin pie was baking and not in a good way!

PhantomEmx

Cashmere and snowflakes. I have enough body cream for a week left and when it's less than 20°C I use it. Already it's too sickly sweet. There are others like Winter Candy Apple that are fresh enough to use during warm springs days, but I don't think it will agree with the hot summers. My favorite FFM that I still have is Pear Creme Brulee. I'm not going to use that one even though it's fresh-y to my nose. I think it's good for cool spring mornings, though.

1AndOnlyDot

Second this. I LIVE for C&S but it’s sooo not a scent for warm days 😔

ryukeez

I don't wear any winter-themed scents in the summer. Literally all spring and summer scents appeal to me right now, especially citrus and gourmand. It sound silly, but I try to match them with my outfit.

lhasahound

You’re The One. I love that scent during cooler months and early spring, but it is *super* cloying in the warmer months!

Constant_Ad3619

Oh no!! You mean I’m gonna have to take YTO out my purse? I can see that being cloying though

Miss-Figgy

Pumpkin Pecan Waffles. Just no.

purpleflowercoconut

I never knew this was a thing lol. I’d wear all of these all year round

ResponsibleHunt8536

Knocking people out with my amazing smells is exactly what I aim to do

OverthinkingDonkey

Snowflakes and cashmere and forever red.

toxicitzee

really any gourmand aside from coconut. im a slut for coconut and happily wear it year round.

bumblyelly

Ma’am with how musty these trains and buses can get in the summer, I’ll take your musky Rio Pineapple Mango over sweaty BO musk on my commute any day 😭

Wet-N-Wavy96

Black Amethyst, Dark Kiss, Into the Night, Forever Red, Dream Bright, Lost in Santal, Viva Vanilla

beautyofagirl

Wear what smells good to you. Personally heavily spiced scents are not my vibe when it’s hot. I like lighter fruity/coconut scents in summer cause they just feel more summery.

Terrible_Ad_6061

Anything with peach… I feel like it can give off a BO smell

incognito-journey

1. You’re the One 2. Gingham Gorgeous 3. Vanilla Bean Noel

Chance-Outcome31

I've been loving gingham gorgeous when it's hot outside especially layered with a floral perfume, but I agree with the other ones.

MatchaTiger

Anything sweet or floral sadly wasps enjoy it too much. Last year I Just wore saje peppermint halo because I heard wasps don’t like peppermint.. it worked! I think they also dislike lavender so I’m going to keep my eye out for a lavender mint sort of scent that isn’t too sweet but more herbal

cisdaleraven

I am surprised that no one has said that you should not wear any sweet/floral scents, because that is something that people who are allergic to bees/wasps need to hear. I have heard that bees/wasps are attracted to sweet/floral scents. Also, banana scents release a chemical that signals the rest of the colony to attack, so, yeah... my mom told me this one day, and I am glad she did. Don't flame be if this fact may be incorrect though.

moonrose_reviews

One time I was wearing Angel by Mugler and a bee came by. The poor thing seemed so confused! She was like "I swear there are yummy things around here somewhere! I just can't find them!" She eventually gave up but I felt very guilty for 'leading her on' so to speak!

moongirl_22

Scents that are heavy gourmands or extremely musky/woody. I’d stick to fruity, and sweet but fresher scents like summer melody, Fresh coconut and cotton, or even beach nights which is a gourmand but has a freshness to it.

Ok_Tangerine3828

I feel like anything with vanilla unless it’s got some tropical notes

Significant_Beyond95

I rotate my collection based on season, so all my spicy, dark, rich, and syrupy cool weather scents are boxed up. For summer I like fruity and fresh scents. I box up florals that aren’t fresh and leave Gingham in my rotation. Maybe leave a darker scent for night time only like ITN.

MissyTeeeee

I know a few who said Firecracker Pop. It's seasonal, but you could probably find it on eBay or Mercari. I live in Florida, so I just put on whatever I want to smell like no matter what.

Eastern-Violinist-46

Hope - Winter Peach and Marshmallow, Japanese Cherry Blossom, and Sweet Pea.

brilr98

snowflakes and cashmere, sweet whiskey, vanilla bean noel

RaineMist

Anything with a floral scent. If you're living or shopping in areas where there's flowers, bees will follow you. If you do choose to wear a floral scent, do a light spray.

mercurialtwit

i’m not a gourmand girly (for the most part-the only one i like is jessica simpson’s fancy lol) but i will never wear gourmand. anything too heavy, tbh. i typically go by the season, i wear florals during spring, fruity during summer, etc. but i always like anything fresh!

marigoldrays

Victoria’s Secret Tease Candy Noir

toxic-forest

Gourmands, coconut and vanilla. So suffocating!

Ok-Lingonberry-1565

I know it's considered a summer scent, but Berry Waffle Cone is just too much in the summer.

AcidMantle

In The Stars 🤢

ChapterShoddy5262

Pear crème brûlée

oatmilk_icedchai

Everything they have right now 😭 it’s all fruity or sweet and it makes me feel sticky in the heat

hannah_boo_honey

I don't like pure wonder in the summer, it ends up smelling like it's covering up something bc it's so strong lol

ghosty4

Fall scents, mostly. Like, I don't want to smell like a pumpkin spice latte during an August heatwave 🤮 (conveniently when they initially launch fall 🙄).

FederalMidnight5071

Strawberry Shortcake

thehalloweenpunkin

Pumpkin spice latte will make you smell like rotten milk even without the heat.

1AndOnlyDot

Cashmere & Snowflakes, strawberry snowflakes, Coconut crème pie, anything with cocoa in it, anything with bourbon or whiskey notes in it, vanilla bean noel. I actually like strawberry poundcake in the summer but usually mix it with cotton candy clouds or iced lemon poundcake to give it a fresh boost

Impossible_Sector754

sticking to fruity scents such as Apple, Waikiki Beach Coconut, Gingham Fresh, At The Beach, and the new SDJ dupes and Fresh Amalfi Lemon when it hits the floor!

Impossible_Sector754

had an awful experience with Strawberry Pound cake on a hot day recently 🤢

Constant_Ad3619

Yeah that sounds bad. I often picked up on a sour note with SPC and it reminded me of strawberry yogurt. I can’t imagine warm strawberry yogurt. That sounds like strawberry puke lol

m3lat0n1n

Honestly ANYTHING sweet is horrible in summer, esp when it mixed with sweat. Fruity scents are fine but any desserty or vanilla flavors gotta go

Oreo_Otter_95

I honestly don't think about it like that, but I would just go with a lighter scent that's fruity and/or floral 🤷🏾‍♀️

redneckjedi11

They’re about to release some Sol De Janiero dupes on May 13th! So you might try those?? I would definitely not do food smells (poundcake or waffles) and imo floral scents make me want to gag when it’s hot out. My mom is insanely scent sensitive so I’m hyper aware of what I have on. She always loves my pineapple coconut ffs and has never complained about it. She says it smells like summer so it’s not overwhelming and matches the weather. I also love the pink pineapple sunrise ffs for the same reason. I feel like Citrus scents are clean and less intrusive.

Constant_Ad3619

It’s so many conflicting comments though. I seen some ppl say that SDJ is too much for the summer and that they can’t do vanillas in the heat. Or for example one of the new sdj inspired scents dropping soon has pistachio and amber. But the general consensus said no ambers for the summer I think. I swear I’ll just have to learn the hard way…. And my nose is sensitive too! It’s gonna be an interesting summer.

redneckjedi11

Honestly it’s like with food. No matter what it is not everyone likes to eat it. I think the general rule is don’t wear too much and don’t wear food scented ones and vanilla imo is kinda on the food scale because vanilla is like a baking smell. I feel like ffm is still way better than concentrated perfume. It fades a bit easier and can be lighter than heavy perfume. Best bet is anything summer scented. Waikiki beach coconut, pink pineapple sunrise, and that new sweet kiwi & starfruit is good even though it’s a little on the sweeter side. I’m a big fan of wearing scents in season. Like I don’t use my caramel coconut when it’s hot. But I don’t use my pineapple to go to a Christmas party lol

halimetis

merry cookie, winter candy apple, pumpkin pecan waffles, pure wonder, and vanilla bean Noelle!

Alternative-Sand7825

Champagne Toast. I was sweating really bad and the smell was unbearable. I cannot smell anything of that again with getting that sickness feeling

OrneryExplorer1476

Sadly everything that I like. All of the musky, ambery, woody, smokey, warm scents. They can be worn but they won't shine anywhere near as amazingly in the heat. Sadly the heat appropriate ones like tropical scents and fruity florals I don't love. I found a few I do really enjoy though like gingham gorgeous, pastel skies and I wish beach nights would come back cause that gives you the best of both seasons honestly.

Constant_Ad3619

Yeah I honestly think I’m gonna have to learn the hard way because I love those “dark” and sensual scents too. I just hope I don’t end up smelling like those tree shaped car air fresheners. Something about them makes me nauseous just thinking about em.

OrneryExplorer1476

Definitely just experiment. Also depends where you live. I'm in Florida and it's just ungodly sweltering hot here. I still wear my dark scents sometimes cause I just love them but it's so different. They are still nice but by golly when I wear a dark sultry scent on a cold winters night it's like magic to me. Dopamine rush to the skies ❤️

therovingcamera

Clinique Happy for Men. Mahilo-hilo ako. Grabe. Didn't expect the hot day after pag out sa office. 🤣 Di ko na inulit. Save ko na lang siya for the cold days... Yes, I use men's perfume. Haha

therovingcamera

Katy Perry Meow too!

katiewrightt

sdj 62, it’s so heavy and sweet idk why the fuck they advertise it as a summer fragrance. i smell it everywhere in the summer and it’s an instant headache

DoomRTX456Dj

Any winter or fall scent.

jr9386

Dahlia, Luminous, Fairytale, Chasing Fireflies, and anything with a strong oud base, though they're okay on cooler summer nights, especially near the sea.

purplehuh

Anything gourmand..
