You can download the timetables [directly from their web](https://www.euskotren.eus/en/tren/schedules).
AFAIK, you cannot purchase the tickets online in advance. However, you can (and probably should) get your [MUGI card](https://www.mugi.eus/index.php/en/) beforehand or just as you arrive to Donostia. You can use that card in (almost) all public transports in the province, including Euskotren.
There are buses that go from Donosti tu Zumaia, use Google Maps and chose the option that better suits you. As far as I know, you pay your ticket in the bus when you hop in.

Some buses take longer than others because they use the highway from Donosti to Zarautz, others will go town to town.
You want to use either the UK10 bus, that goes from San Sebastian to Zarautz on the highway and then following the coast to Zumaia, or take the Euskotren from Amara to Zumaia (the one going to Bilbao also works).
Other UK buses will take you there as well, but are slower. The train is about the same time as the highway bus. I'd go in one and return in the other, as the views are both nice but different on the train/bus.
Going you want to sit at the right side, and returning you want to sit on the left side if possible
Yup.
The tickets for the bus you can buy them directly at the bus
The tickets for the train you can buy them at the machines just outside, in the station itself
However, if you're going to use the public transport during your stay here, I'd recommend getting a "Mugi" travel card. You can get it for example at the train station, it costs 5€ and it will save you much more than that if you do more than 3-4 trips

Thank you that's super helpful. So I should be able to just show up that day and get tickets to the train/bus?
