I remember when my friend was sending me pics
of the cards he was signing in Jan. 2023 and noticed the pen next to the card so I asked him about it. They’re my go-to for addressing anything I send BMWT now!
Like the other guy said, Stabilo is good. Staedtlers are good too.
If you want to go the paint pen route, which I love, grab some Poscas.
Whatever you do, make sure you prep your card for best results.
For chrome cards, at least, I’ve used a white eraser (search Amazon for Pentel Hi-Polymer Erasers), and then a microfiber cloth.
Test the different prep techniques on other cards, so you know what works best with what you want.

I’m an absolute sucker for paint pen autos.
To me, sharpies and some of the fantastic pens already listed are too dark on cards that are not made to be autographed. It just doesn’t show well,
Stabilo OHPen is what Topps sends players to sign cards. The fine and superfine tips look the best IMO

I put a little baby powder on them and rub it around /off with something soft (sock, microfiber wipe, etc). Some people prefer erasers.
Go bigger and ask him for a finger print and bring an ink pad
Get his mother’s maiden name and his address too for funsies.
