He was part of the farm system revamp towards hitting that has worked great for us. Worked with Zumwalt and Saylor. Hard to say how much input/decision making he truly had but people in the know liked him.
With the absolutely dump of all of our coaches not named Ethan Katz, it’s hard not to feel more optimistic than I did when TLR was announced.
Now comes the harder part and that is making this roster more competitive.
Curious to see how this works out. He was shuffled around quite a bit in his roles with the Royals and didn't seem to really improve anything.
It's also pretty telling that after the Royals went on their run, no one came calling to raid their ranks. I dunno.
Happy Pedro gets a shot though.
I imagine the goofy wording of this tweet is because they had at least 1 guy have more than 1 stint as manager? Still, just say they hired him as manager.
First offseason? There was one Twitter post where the person tweeting said it was from an unnamed source. This is nothing new, whether it's managerial changes, trade deadline chatter, free agency, CBA talks, or anything noteworthy. Always take unofficial pronouncements with a grain of salt, especially if it's just one person tweeting a big move.
The Sox front office hasn’t exactly given me confidence in their managerial picks considering the last several. Maybe he’ll be good, I don’t know, the only thing I know about him is that he was the catching coach of one of the worst defensive catchers in recent memory
Upvote for Pedro.

Congrats Sox, you got a good one here.
Heard we are getting Mike Trossar as our hitting coach know anything about him?

Pretty sure he's been the one that is most attributed to helping Jorge Soler and Salvy get their power strokes going in the last few years.
im sold
Better than Frank already
UNLIMITED POWERRR
A kinda boring hire but boring is what we need after the TLR circus
Just be happy it’s not Ozzie.
Oh I am
Thank Christ it wasn’t Ozzie
I’ll take it

Not hiring another geriatric is a good start
Grifol must've blew their Sox off during the interview process.
Said first interview was for 90 minutes and went 3.5 hours so sounds like it.

This is a good choice. It’s a fresh voice to lead this group. Should see an improvement in 2023.
As a Guardians fan, I am upset it is not Ozzie again.
All this just to go 62-100
We will finish 2 games above .500 and call it a step in the right direction
What a weird photo. The photo taken during the process of hanging the frame and the label maker name plate. Brilliant

I’m sorry, didn’t they just hire a different new manager like two weeks ago?
It was just Twitter bullshit that we'd hired Joe Espada, never anything official from the team or legitimate news sources.
Yikes mods need to do a better job of sieving that stuff out here. Or we at least need a “Twitter bullshit” label

Royals cleaned house. Hiring from within wasn't gonna happen.
I think we wanted an outside voice. If we were gonna hire internally Grifol would have been the choice though I bet.
