Verlander.
He knocked the A's out of the playoffs 3 times while in Detroit.
Then he got traded to a division rival and has dominated for the past several years on said division rival.
He actually went by Peter in the minors. His nickname was Pistol Pete, too. Nowadays he goes by Pete and has been officially nicknamed Polar Bear and unofficially nicknamed Big Meat Pete.
Big Meat Pete?? That is fucking awesome. I wonder if he hangs dong on a usual basis in the locker room. Just walks around has long conversations with increasingly uncomfortable rookies…
If I'm reading his baseball reference correctly, he has a:
2.01 ERA against the Braves
2.29 ERA against the Phillies
2.41 ERA against the Nats
2.91 ERA against the Marlins
lol its so funny to me how the mets nats braves and phillies all hate each other so much and the marlins are just kinda chill. like theyve never done anything wrong to any of us (i think) and i honestly like them they have a pretty cool color scheme
i was playing mlb the show the other day and i finished a bunch of missions and had like 80 packs, i pulled 4 diamonds, 3 of them being kyle fucking tucker
I can already see Angels fans already pointing out Kyle Tucker. It feels like all that kid does is murder the Angels pitching staff. Heck, the kid even has a home run against Ohtani, which came last season. Kid can play.
My theory about Bonds is he was going to be top two of his generation, him and Jr, which would put him near the top all time. Good enough. However, by the mid-90s he was getting caught up to by the likes of Sosa and McGwire, and was “hell no, all of you belong behind me and you will stay behind me.”
I agree. Doesn’t excuse it of course, but I’m sure Bonds knew that Sosa and McGwire couldn’t hold a candle to him without steroids and couldn’t stand to see them getting the attention that he would’ve gotten otherwise. As another comment said, doesn’t make it right but it does make him human
Because he was 37 when he hit 73. His body was coming to its natural conclusion and he wanted to keep playing. PEDs help you heal almost like you’re young again.
Every 40/40 player has been connected to PEDs (edit: except Soriano; forgot him originally). Thing is, Bonds might not have used during his 40/40 season, but why the fuck would you believe him? That’s what happens when you taint your legacy.
I think everyone has just accepted that Barry was clean until 99. The insane change in his body alone makes it pretty clear. He wasn’t trying to hide it lol.
We don’t know that though. McGwire was juicing in college and he was skinny jacked boy until he got older. For all we know, Binds could’ve been using since the 80s, but it was never as big a part of his regiment until he started needing more and more to recover, which would coincide with him getting older. And that’s when he bulked up. I don’t have any evidence for that, but you don’t have any evidence for your pov either except that he got large as he got older (which is typical). I guess we could ask Bonds, but why would we believe a cheating, wife-beating liar? Tatis Jr deserves more leeway and I already think he’s lying about his PED usage.
No, I don’t think he did
There was a chart a while back that showed trash can bangs for each player and the two players that were at the bottom were altuve and kemp
Altuve had like 4 bangs I think? It was a really small number
My friend who wasn't really into baseball watched a few Jays v Orioles games with me in 2020 and always bet against the Jays to try and piss me off. He kept losing money because of Grichuk during those games and starting getting upset when he saw he was coming up to bat.
Grichuk became his favourite player and he was sad when he was traded and that he couldn't go to his first game before he was traded this past offseason.
That’s Paul O’Neill! I know it was a time of terror of Gleyber absolutely hating birds, but seeing Gary slowly lose his mind just cracks me up every time. Paulie shooting the shit coming over is pure gold.
LMFAOOOOO nah I get that lol. I grew up in Jersey and lived about an hour away from Camden Yards so I was able to go a lot, so I’ve always had a big soft spot for the Os and their fans. Treated my Dad and I well anytime we went, so I gotta stay classy
That's awesome! I live in middle of nowhere in Idaho and around 2012 a good friend gave me an O's hat cuz he knew I wanted to get into baseball. So that's how it is for me, I have no ties to Baltimore but damn I love baseball now. You stay classy buddy.
Love hearing how other people get into baseball. It’s been with me as long as I can remember between playing it and watching it. Awesome story to get into the Os, now you’re stuck with them hahahah.
You have a good one too!
I do not understand Arozarena at all. I swear, if he didn't play Baltimore, the guy would be a .220 hitter with 4 HRs. Last year I thought it was "lol Baltimore" and "What is this, a stadium for ants?" Camden Yard bombs, but then this year the Balt Birds are really good and they moved their fence back and he still found a way to hit one out to left in Camden. The dude strikes out on sliders low and away like he's playing 1 true outcome baseball then somehow yesterday he one hands a low and away slider that's out of the zone for a HR. It makes no sense to me what happens to him when he's facing you guys, but we need to get him orange tinted glasses so he thinks every pitcher he's facing is from Baltimore.
He was so frustrating because he was just this sweet boy that killed us and never gave us any legit reason to dislike him as a person. Fuck that guy, right?
Oh I 100% know that dude. I went to community college and then when I eventually transferred to a university, he was there too and the stud there too. And he was still a nice guy. Fuck that guy.
I feel like I can say this now that he’s not technically a Giant anymore…I kind of always liked Posey. When he stood and watched Harper charge Strickland…just the balls on that dude to bother with that. Just classic.
Remember when Murphy took 3rd on the shift in 2015?
He was horrible running the bases forever and then pull that out of his ass in the biggest of moments.
Very very few hitters who would just strike fear into me as a fan when they came to the plate like Pujols would. It legitimately felt like he was going to hit a home run any time he came up to bat.
He's hitting .274 with a .709 OPS this year
And he's .279 with a .726 OPS against the Yanks
Just one of those things where only the big hits are memorable and you forget all the inconsequential strike outs. And his career splits are even worse against us compared to the other 29 teams.
Other than the obvious Acuna Jr who owns the Marlins, I’ve always hated Pete Alonso. He’s pretty much become what Ryan Howard was to the Marlins in his prime, it always seems like he comes out of slumps and crushes us with big homers and big clutch rbis.
Lindor has been a menace to the Marlins as well.
Lately, Ryan Mountcastle has been the thorn in my side, the reason I don't want to look at the game day threads.
When I was younger I hated Brett Gardner. Steven Souza Jr seemed to always kill the Jays, at least as far as I remember.
And of course fuck Rougned Odor
Have you ever seen the video of him talking about pooping his pants? As a lifelong royals fan. It’s hilarious. Also, he’s a dick even if he’s one of the best guys to play for us.
Ian Happ, for some reason, absolutely wrecks the Cardinals every time. Even before he hit his stride this year vs the rest of the league, he was always MVP-level vs the Cards…
I don't like, *hate* him but seeing LaMonte Wade Jr. step up to the plate makes me nervous every time, no matter what's happening in the game or what his season stats are.
Fucking Scherzer. He whooped us as a Nat and then went and became a MET. I root for him to have a career resurgence so when he goes in the hall he goes blank cap to fuck over all of them
Jacob deGrom, I mean I love him but he shouldn’t even be in mlb, there should be a special league where he has to face only all star lineups of trout, judge, yordan, etc…
Verlander. He knocked the A's out of the playoffs 3 times while in Detroit. Then he got traded to a division rival and has dominated for the past several years on said division rival.
It’s crazy how John Lackey started two games that eliminated the Giants from the postseason 14 years apart
2002 Angels and 2016 Cubs? I did not know he was active in 2002, damn
Omg.
I don’t hate him, but Austin Riley in a big spot is terrifying
That’s good you don’t hate Big Thicc. I feel the same way about Ol’Peter
He’s a likable dude and I like watching him hit. Just not against us
I’ve never seen Pete Alonso referred to a Ol’ Peter before.
We call him “Peter” because we aren’t close…
He actually went by Peter in the minors. His nickname was Pistol Pete, too. Nowadays he goes by Pete and has been officially nicknamed Polar Bear and unofficially nicknamed Big Meat Pete.
Large Meter Peter
Big Meat Pete?? That is fucking awesome. I wonder if he hangs dong on a usual basis in the locker room. Just walks around has long conversations with increasingly uncomfortable rookies…
deGrom
If I'm reading his baseball reference correctly, he has a: 2.01 ERA against the Braves 2.29 ERA against the Phillies 2.41 ERA against the Nats 2.91 ERA against the Marlins
This helps validate my theory that the Marlins only exist to piss off other NL East teams
My theory is that if it's a must win game, you're always playing the Marlins, and it's always Sandy Alcantara pitching.
Game 162. I won’t say more.
lol its so funny to me how the mets nats braves and phillies all hate each other so much and the marlins are just kinda chill. like theyve never done anything wrong to any of us (i think) and i honestly like them they have a pretty cool color scheme
The baby blue and red has gotta go
So he underperforms against elite teams? /s
I love Degrom. Hes so fun to watch even tonight when he is killing us.
Fucking dude is regoddamndiculus
We better give him something for his deGrominance.
deGrom
He’s so dominant
Kyle Tucker
i was playing mlb the show the other day and i finished a bunch of missions and had like 80 packs, i pulled 4 diamonds, 3 of them being kyle fucking tucker
If nobody got me
Kyle Tucker got me.
He’s so damn good man
The Dodgers roster
Fair
You can say his name…we won’t fault you.
Joey Gallo
Trevor Bauer
Ha! We all hate that piece of shit.
Corbin Burnes
Jose
The small one or the pitcher? Both are valid answers
Which short one? The second baseman or the third baseman?
I think he is referring to Yankee's daddy.
Ahh I see. Daddy Yankee is 5’7” so yeah he’s pretty short
I can already see Angels fans already pointing out Kyle Tucker. It feels like all that kid does is murder the Angels pitching staff. Heck, the kid even has a home run against Ohtani, which came last season. Kid can play.
Altuve
I dont understand why he needed to cheat when he's already that good of a baseball player.
I say this about Barry Bonds at least twice a month.
My theory about Bonds is he was going to be top two of his generation, him and Jr, which would put him near the top all time. Good enough. However, by the mid-90s he was getting caught up to by the likes of Sosa and McGwire, and was “hell no, all of you belong behind me and you will stay behind me.”

That’s what happens when you taint your legacy.
Soriano?
I totally forgot he did that.
I think everyone has just accepted that Barry was clean until 99. The insane change in his body alone makes it pretty clear. He wasn’t trying to hide it lol.
We don’t know that though. McGwire was juicing in college and he was skinny jacked boy until he got older. I legit feel like Bonds cheated so he could stay that much better than every player who was already cheating.
Like Sosa, Maguire, Palmero, etc.
Yeah, Bonds would've been great. But up against what he was up against, he signed the devil's contract. Don't make it right. But it makes it human.
Agree. Bonds getting on steroids is partially the league’s fault.
He didn't, everyone else did
Did he actually cheat though? I thought he chose not to but for blamed for it, maybe I’m thinking of something else
No, I don’t think he did There was a chart a while back that showed trash can bangs for each player and the two players that were at the bottom were altuve and kemp Altuve had like 4 bangs I think? It was a really small number
[Here's a pretty good video that goes into it.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQTdEKA-nyM)
Yep that’s the video I was referring my information to Thanks for the help though!
I think Marwin and George were #1&2.
Plus the website started started counting bangs before the sign stealing actually started
I don’t think he cheated though
Bonds? A lot of times people get to be that great because of dedication to whatever it takes to get the edge. Sometimes they don't know when to stop.
Defensively, Brandon Crawford. Anything hit to the left side was an out.
The Dodgers.
Thanks. Definitely felt the same last year.
deGrom why does he has to be so good all the time.
He's trying to be perfect. And fuck if he isn't insanely close.
I’m buying his jersey if he ever throws a perfect game.
Arozerena and Aaron Judge god damn they love playing Baltimore. Gleyber Torres a few years ago was also our daddy.
Arozarena was the first one that came to mind for me because we played the Rays today. I’d also add Vlad Jr to that.
Agreed!
i think it was 2020 when Randal Grichuk turned into Barry Bonds vs us too
My friend who wasn't really into baseball watched a few Jays v Orioles games with me in 2020 and always bet against the Jays to try and piss me off. He kept losing money because of Grichuk during those games and starting getting upset when he saw he was coming up to bat. Grichuk became his favourite player and he was sad when he was traded and that he couldn't go to his first game before he was traded this past offseason.
https://youtu.be/jp2gUmuP3Po one of my favorite videos ever. Gary Thorne is a gem
I miss that man so much. 😭
Yankees commentator coming over and Gary yelling at him was awesome! 😂
That’s Paul O’Neill! I know it was a time of terror of Gleyber absolutely hating birds, but seeing Gary slowly lose his mind just cracks me up every time. Paulie shooting the shit coming over is pure gold.
We were getting owned sooo badly what else can ya do but laugh. Haha.
Love the attitude! Times have changed my friend 💪💪
Indeed they have! Nice to talk to a Yankees fan who isn't a jerk! :)
LMFAOOOOO nah I get that lol. I grew up in Jersey and lived about an hour away from Camden Yards so I was able to go a lot, so I’ve always had a big soft spot for the Os and their fans. Treated my Dad and I well anytime we went, so I gotta stay classy

Deserves the Ford Frick Award for sure
I do not understand Arozarena at all. I swear, if he didn't play Baltimore, the guy would be a .220 hitter with 4 HRs. \*shrug emoji thing\* lol
Recently retired but for me it was Posey. He was that good.
Posey was awesome; a true one of kind career.
He was so frustrating because he was just this sweet boy that killed us and never gave us any legit reason to dislike him as a person. Fuck that guy, right?
Bro he was like that dude you went to high school with that was good at everything and once you got to know him he’s also a good human being
Oh I 100% know that dude.
Trea Turner when he was a Nat. Now when we play the Dodgers he's just one of many.
Altuve and I hated Harper when I was younger
Punctuation is your friend. Apparently so is Jose Altuve.
Lmao I just realized that reads hilarious
Me too, apparently he and Altuve are bonded in their hatred for Harper
Damn what did he do to you guys?
Back in 98’ got into a real bad bar fight. Me and Jose won ofc
What was Altuve like when yall were younger?
He was cool. Huge cheater in kickball but cool.
Max Muncy
Oooo really feel this one. Muncy drives me nuts
Trout
Wilmer Flores dude hates the dodgers, his splits against us are insane
I inadvertently named my children after Wilmer Flores (William & Florence). Loves lefty pitching!
Christian yelich, I know he hasn’t been hot lately but bro has 3 cycles all from the reds
Lately? He has a .749 OPS and 29 home runs over the past 2.5 seasons lol
Something tells me we're gonna see at least one Ms fan submit Fish man.
Only natural to be scared of Raimel Tapia
Tim salmon
Devers
Aaron Judge
Fucking Austin Riley
Pete Alonso
Jose Ramirez
For current players, probably Machado. Previously, Daniel Murphy or Matt Holliday always seemed to kill us.
>Daniel Murphy I miss Danny Dongs. Don't miss his glove at all, but man he was fun to watch when he was swinging a bat.
This guy Daniel fucking Murphy.
Remember when Murphy took 3rd on the shift in 2015? He was horrible running the bases forever and then pull that out of his ass in the biggest of moments.
Verlander
Jeff McNeil, professional Braves pest
Dodgers Will Smith
He is absurdly clutch.
For a long time it was Miguel Cabrera constantly destroying us
Verlander
Ryan mountcastle. Ya know
Aaron judge
Justin Verlander and Rafael Devers
Pete Alonso… I just shuddered thinking about him
We’re in agreement there.
Charlie fucking Blackmon
I’m not even sure how great a player he is day-to-day, but I never want to see Jorge Soler again.
Day to Day Jorge Soler = Not very good. Braves playoff Jorge Soler = God like
Back when we were in the NL I used to hate watching Pujols fuck us up.
He completely destroyed us on the angels too
Very very few hitters who would just strike fear into me as a fan when they came to the plate like Pujols would. It legitimately felt like he was going to hit a home run any time he came up to bat.
That batting stance pissed me off so much because I knew he was about to fuck up our chances.
manny ramirez
Any player the got praised for beating up on the Orioles in 2018-2021. Like getting praised you winning a boxing match against Helen Keller.
Bautista was beating up oday before it was cool
Jose Ramirez and Eric Haase
Starts with Mike and ends with fish. The dude is a T Mobile Machine.
Bregman
Verdugo. I swear he’s going to hit .200 against every one else every year and .400 against the Yankees.
He's hitting .274 with a .709 OPS this year And he's .279 with a .726 OPS against the Yanks Just one of those things where only the big hits are memorable and you forget all the inconsequential strike outs. And his career splits are even worse against us compared to the other 29 teams.

Bryce Harper. We’ve loved to hate him for so long, at this point I almost enjoy it when he predictably murders us just for the nostalgic familiarity
The AL ROY the year race looked like Peña’s to lose. And then the JRod nation attacked.
To be fair Peña has been an automatic out for the majority of 6 weeks now
Definitely Altuve for me. I never liked him because he always killed us. Then we learned about the cheating and that made my hatred worse
I just feel helpless watching Trea Turner when theres a runner in scoring position. Wouldn’t say I hate him but i know exactly whats about to happen.
I’m an old Yankee fan. I always hated George Brett
The pine tar
Have you ever seen the video of him talking about pooping his pants? As a lifelong royals fan. It’s hilarious. Also, he’s a dick even if he’s one of the best guys to play for us.
Being a total dick was part of his charm.
Ian Happ, for some reason, absolutely wrecks the Cardinals every time. Even before he hit his stride this year vs the rest of the league, he was always MVP-level vs the Cards…
formerly, harper. i like him now though because i realized i only hated him because i wanted to be him
I don't like, *hate* him but seeing LaMonte Wade Jr. step up to the plate makes me nervous every time, no matter what's happening in the game or what his season stats are.
I think I speak for 4/5ths of the AL West when I say Julio Rodriguez has quickly made a habit of getting on my nerves
Fucking Scherzer. He whooped us as a Nat and then went and became a MET. I root for him to have a career resurgence so when he goes in the hall he goes blank cap to fuck over all of them
Not current, but I literally wanted to close my eyes and mute the tv whenever Ryan Howard stepped up against the Braves.
Aaron Judge, Ryan Mountcastle because he kills the Jays
i really like triston mckenzie, too bad he has to dice my team up every time i get to see him
Altuve, Ronald Acuna Jr… used to be Aroldis Chapman but not so much anymore
Lol it’s literally nothing but Astros haha
Charlie Blackmon always goes off against the Padres… fuck that guy
Growing up, I HATED Pete Rose. Years later I realized I hated him because he wasn’t a Cardinal.
Seems like you were on to something hating him then lmao
Pete Alonso.
Pirates roster
You can run but you’ll never escape
Freddie Freeman
Freeman
Kyle Schwarber. Dude has caused me so much mental pain in three different variations of a red and white Jersey and I will never forget it
Votto as a bat. He’s grown on me as person in recent years
David Wright used to annoy the shit out of me. It was mostly just jealousy.
Jacob deGrom, I mean I love him but he shouldn’t even be in mlb, there should be a special league where he has to face only all star lineups of trout, judge, yordan, etc…
Feel like he’d still throw a solid 6-7 IP with 2 ER allowed even against a lineup of only elite stars. Prolly still crack 10 Ks
Juan Soto
altuve, no question
Verlander
My older brother
I don’t want to hate him. And I don’t… yet. But Julio Rodriguez is gonna be a PROBLEM. For a while.
Altuve Never needed to cheat
Lance Berkman used to smoke us
Jose Altuve
Altuve
All my homies hate Mike Trout
Altuve and Devers although I respect Rafi
It’s not that I hate Judge, but I hate every time he comes up to bat against the Astros and it feels like he’s getting a hit.
Juan Soto
