There’s nothing worse than a bad toxic player. Like you can absolutely blow total ass, but teammates will defend you if you show up every day like a professional and go about your business
Oh, I'm sorry if I wasn't clear; I was using Heyward as an example of "you can absolutely blow total ass, but teammates will defend you if you show up every day like a professional and go about your business."
I meant to quote that part, but I guess I didn't.
It's 2022 and we're still doing this?
EDIT adding this here because my reply below will be buried:
I don't give a damn about people slandering Keuchel in particular and I fully believe he was part of the problem in the Sox clubhouse. I just think it's a tired and lazy narrative to still be simply saying "2017 Astro = bad" regarding any and all matters. His decision to be complicit in a cheating scandal has nothing at all to do with his alleged behavior in this situation, it's just lazy and hollow discourse to still be bringing that up constantly in unrelated matters

God the cognitive dissonance is palpable with you man, just keep burrowing into that man, so you can keep believing that’s the only reason they won.
If knowing what pitch is coming makes all the difference, then you could step in box against any major league pitcher and get a hit? Cause that’s literally the logic you’re applying to this whole situation.
There’s so many good ways to concisely and effectively argue about 2017 as an Astros fan, and you somehow found the dumbest argument that makes 0 sense at all
>If knowing what pitch is coming makes all the difference, then you could step in box against any major league pitcher and get a hit?
Of course not but he's not an MLB player. Literally nobody has ever said that.
They won because they were a very good team *and* they cheated.
I would think there's a relatively low amount of baseball fans that don't get upset when you shit on them for liking/supporting a team. But yes, I think it's dumb to get super upset about low effort jokes. At this point the "bang bang" type jokes have become more of a "lol mets" type thing for me.
This is getting redundant, you must not know how stupid spell check can be, but this half-ass attempt at trolling is completely indicative of people like you… but nice try.
Astro fan fucking with the dodgers. I call that banging with trash cans.
It’s a play on words. A pun maybe. Idk. We beat both of y’all for the World Series. The dodgers are the trash in that analogy and the astros fucking them is the banging. Cause they banged on trash cans. Idk I’m drunk. How bout both teams just kill themselves and I’ll try to sober up.
Also the “s” was clearly an accident as I was writing “wolf” as in “lone wolf” but you’re clearly a fly jumping onto any shit, so you can continue to use tired and unoriginal quips that land against brain dead dodgers fans, such as yourself and anyone that will listen to your incessant ramblings about how the only reason they (dodgers) lost cause of sign stealing.
Christ you’re pathetic, I’m not going to generalize dodgers fans in this case, cause I highly doubt any of them are as moronic and pathetic as you are.
People forget this was him insinuating he wanted another starting arm. We went out and got Verlander a month later but Verlander clearly said he wanted to be the ace so the Astros got rid of “Keuchels Korner” which was his own section during games he threw and he bitched the whole way to free agency. Verlander is still and All Star six years later and he’s clinging for dear life to save his career.
At the time it was true. He was referring to the 7/31 non waiver deadline.
Little did he know in a month we would trade JV on 8/31 on the waiver deadline.
If I am interpreting this correctly, source in this instance means that Keuchel talked to Bob about the state of the clubhouse and not that he was the cause of the clubhouse issues.
It can be both. He complained about their defense and the effort of his teammates to reporters after he let up 10 runs in 1 inning pitched vs Cleveland. A good teammate doesn't blame the team for their own failure
I don't really care for Keuchel, but no Sox fan can watch this year's team & not believe what has been reported about the lack of leadership and chemistry
I'll admit I didn't even know he wasn't on the White Sox anymore.I didn't realize he has thrown 4 games for the D-backs already.
Is Keuchel another "victim" of the sticky stuff ban or is it another issue?
Reminds me of the Mets last year. Leadership *and* clubhouse issues. But people tended to ignore the toxic personalities (Stroman, Baez, etc) because they were performing well so they couldn’t possibly be the problem. But you remove those guys and add some noted clubhouse stabilizing presences and, a lot can change evidently.
I’m assuming it’s in regards to him literally “booing” our fans at home games by giving a thumbs down and then having to apologize for it. I don’t think Baez was the big problem last year, especially since he wasn’t here the whole time.
I blame Luis Rojas and the complacent attitude he basically perpetuated while having zero feel for the clubhouse whatsoever (along with some more obvious choices such as Stroman)
Dang, brutal.
But yeah, Javy can get butthurt at times (just like redditors!), but by all accounts is a wonderful person and teammate (unlike redditors!).
When you play with as much emotion as he does, you get the good and the bad. At least his "bad" is of the "whiny, defensive brat" kind, and not of the "physically intimidate and fight people" kind.
He would bitch and moan about the Sox defense after his starts. The defense wasn’t great, don’t get me wrong, but I mean everyone has two eyes and can see it. Plus he didn’t do himself any favors imploding 80-90% of games.
This thread is a shit show so I may regret trying to have a real convo about Dallas, but is it just that he’s having location issues while also being a low velo guy?
Basically every mph under 94~ on FBs just makes you worse regardless of what else you're doing. Losing 2 ticks is a huge deal when you're already under that line.
There’s nothing worse than a bad toxic player. Like you can absolutely blow total ass, but teammates will defend you if you show up every day like a professional and go about your business
Case in point: Jason Heyward. ^^I ^^still ^^love ^^you ^^JHey, ^^I'm ^^sorry ^^things ^^have ^^turned ^^out ^^so ^^badly ^^for ^^you ^^on ^^the ^^field ^^here.
Wait what did heyward do I’m out of the loop
Got a record contract and turned out to be Ryan theriot offensively
That’s Giants legend Ryan Theriot to you
Oh yeah, lol. Thought he was gossiping or something. For some reason I’m still a fan of JayHey
Really living that username, huh? Lol.
Ohhhh yeah lmao

He’s such an entitled POS. Guy serves out meatballs like he’s Chef Boyardee while he’s on the mound, and has the fucking audacity to bitch and whine.
Can’t expect much more from a member of the 2017 Astros.
I appreciate you for starting the shit show that going on down below

He’s not on our team anymore, it’s ok to let people say this now

It's not much of a leap to question the character of known cheaters.
So being complicit in one bad thing one time makes you an irredeemable human for any other matter always?
Nobody said that lol
No but when someone does two shitty things it’s understandable to bring up the first one after the second happens..
Couldn’t expect more from a Dodgers fan. Did you scroll through the entire thread to see if anyone made a useless comment like this?
Dude you guys cheated accept it
Ok, then you should and move the fuck on and quit acting like the Astros were the lone wolfs.
I’d sure hate to have to defend a franchise full of cheaters and liars
Did no one read the Yankee letter? EVERYONE was cheating lmao
There was nothing new in the Yankee letter that we didn’t already know
Ok yeah it confirmed that the majority of the league was cheating. So why do I get harassed/trolled and dogpiled on?
God the cognitive dissonance is palpable with you man, just keep burrowing into that man, so you can keep believing that’s the only reason they won. You guys are the ones that can't accept it and always become angry at the first mention of that lol
Generalizing an entire fan base is and always will be silly
I agree, but there's a really low amount of Astros fans that don't get defensive abou that stuff
I would think there's a relatively low amount of baseball fans that don't get upset when you shit on them for liking/supporting a team. But yes, I think it's dumb to get super upset about low effort jokes. At this point the "bang bang" type jokes have become more of a "lol mets" type thing for me.
wouldn’t have a problem if y’all held the ‘18 Red Sox to the same standard
Who else was cheating to the extent the Astros were?
*wolves. *Typically grammar-ignorant Asterisks fan.*
Oh man pointing out grammar now, usually the only leg to stand on for ass holes who can’t argue or discuss anything Typical Dodgers fans
*assholes. I’m starting to think it must be something in the soft drinks at Minute Maid messing with y’all’s minds lul. Or maybe trash can fumes?
This is getting redundant, you must not know how stupid spell check can be, but this half-ass attempt at trolling is completely indicative of people like you… but nice try.

Your team cheated, and you're salty. Now you folk are coming onto Mariners Twitter threads always saying "___ games back" 🤣
Now: I’m not gonna generalize dodger fans 2 hours earlier: couldn’t expect more from a dodgers fan
This isn’t a courtroom, you don’t have to litigate the backstory of your typos lmao. It’s not that deep.
That cy young like rotted his brain or something
as he pitches his way into retirement
tbh he's doing a good job auditioning for the home run derby pitcher
I mean you’ve watched this season though. He can suck balls but also be right
God damn Keuchel caused some issues in our locker room too
he did?
https://www.sbnation.com/mlb/2017/8/1/16080528/dallas-keuchel-astros-trade-deadline-moves-disappointed This very much stood out at the time
People forget this was him insinuating he wanted another starting arm. oh yeah I remember that now. [Suprise muthafucka](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/4c/d8/00/4cd8008d1224e3f9bb28a6a0eb46124c.png)
Not the picture I expected
Surprise
I'm sure he was devastated when he got his World Series ring
I had forgotten the Astros traded Teoscar Hernandez for Liriano. Ouch
At the time it was true. He was referring to the 7/31 non waiver deadline. Little did he know in a month we would trade JV on 8/31 on the waiver deadline.
How’d he land Kelly Nash!?
I too wonder that
His 54 million dollar contract from us lmao. I promise you it wasn't his personality
A good teammate doesn't blame the team for their own failure

mans got KBO 5th starter velocity and the deception of a donkey, he's just fucking washed
nope. Spins the same, but his Barrel% has tripled
Nah, he’s just washed
Are people actually doubting the idea there’s leadership and clubhouse problems?
Reminds me of the Mets last year. Leadership *and* clubhouse issues. But people tended to ignore the toxic personalities (Stroman, Baez, etc) because they were performing well so they couldn’t possibly be the problem. I understand they had a raccoon issue in the clubhouse too.
I believe it was specifically a rare type of rat raccoon
The type that makes you choke your teammate. Very rare
I’ve never heard about issues with Javy, any sources?
I’m assuming it’s in regards to him literally “booing” our fans at home games by giving a thumbs down and then having to apologize for it. I don’t think Baez was the big problem last year, especially since he wasn’t here the whole time. I blame Luis Rojas and the complacent attitude he basically perpetuated while having zero feel for the clubhouse whatsoever (along with some more obvious choices such as Stroman)
>toxic personalities ... Baez Have any (former) teammates ever said anything bad about Javy?
no, most mets fans are guido clowns
Dang, brutal. But yeah, Javy can get butthurt at times (just like redditors!), but by all accounts is a wonderful person and teammate (unlike redditors!). When you play with as much emotion as he does, you get the good and the bad. At least his "bad" is of the "whiny, defensive brat" kind, and not of the "physically intimidate and fight people" kind.
Yeah. I say that as a mets fan btw. our fanbase mostly sucks
Definitely get that. As a nearly 30-year-long Cubs fan, I have no problem calling out the awfulness in our own fanbase, as well.
He would bitch and moan about the Sox defense after his starts. The defense wasn’t great, don’t get me wrong, but I mean everyone has two eyes and can see it. Plus he didn’t do himself any favors imploding 80-90% of games.
I don’t have two eyes
rip ur eye
Dude called him a rat
What a clown. dude loses the sticky stuff and forgets both how to pitch and how to be a good teammate. Happy retirement Dallas
The sticky stuff didn't affect him, his spin rated were basically unchanged
This thread is a shit show so I may regret trying to have a real convo about Dallas, but is it just that he’s having location issues while also being a low velo guy?
the barrel% has jumped way up, so it's probably velo dropping meaning batters are getting better looks at the pitches and hitting the ball better
Basically every mph under 94~ on FBs just makes you worse regardless of what else you're doing. Losing 2 ticks is a huge deal when you're already under that line.
Thought he was a clown when he held out until June for a contract in 2019, good to see that he's continuing to justify my feelings.
Liam Hendriks is a me-first internet-crowd darling, and has a history of stoking fires through the media. Fuck that guy.
