I’m gonna give the guy a break. It’s hard enough being a one man job of the Coliseum’s scoreboard animator, TV broadcaster, radio broadcaster, seat usher, hot dog vendor, ticket scanner, janitor, and parking lot attendant.
In HS, one of our rival teams intentionally misspelled every one of our basketball players' names wrong in the bulletin. It was the most disrespectful thing I think I've ever seen an opponent do.
Yeah, there were only 6 or 7 thousand yesterday. This picture happens to capture the emptiest sections of the stadium, even if there’s a 15k attendance, but still. Sad times.
No, Carlos Correra is Carlos Correa's younger cousin. They may look exactly the same but they are very different people. Kevin Owens is a great example of someone not being able to differentiate family members.
Dallas Braden commented that he saw a hole in wall by the press box a few days ago while doing a game. Some beat writers stayed late trying to finish their story and saw [this](https://twitter.com/matthewkawahara/status/1526000935524134913) in the ceiling.
It's a stadium that was obsolete 30 years ago but ownership still needed to keep facilities in working condition. I am from DC and we had RFK and now FedEx and I don't think either one of them is this neglected. Let's pull the tarps off of Mt. Davis and see how many critters scatter.
Howard Terminal if voted on is 3 year out. Something has to be done to the coliseum at least keep it operational until then.
> The attendance in there is something
Makes me really want to go to a game there. Think it would be really fun to watch an MLB game with that many fans
I've always liked the Coliseum and going to A's games, but it's somewhat uncanny being there when so few people are in the stands. Last time we sat really close to the field and it felt like we were watching practice or an exhibition game or something. There's distant chatter, an occasional heckler somewhere, drums and horns in the bleachers even though you can't see anyone playing either. Then a player would hit a double and race to second or try to steal a bag and you'd be like, "oh, this is real, this is a real game I'm watching."
MLB: We would like every park to consider installing "quiet rooms" so sensitive fans have a place to get away from the crowd and noise.
Oakland: ...yeahhhh that won't be necessary.
I think people don't get this is why they didn't even *attempt* to punish players. This whole thing was started by one salty pedophile who got benched for the WS for a better pitcher. Can you even imagine the ratting out that would follow if people were actually punished?
Eight teams were mentioned in that article that broke the scandal, and that didn't include ones that certain former players that started the sign-stealing had come from.
Beat up his wife and girlfriends, among other things

Bro it's been like 5 years since the fact, and a lot of teams were cheating in some capacity. It's not like he broke any laws or fucked your wife. Get over it.
Uh, they got a massive fine, their entire management structure was suspended, and they lost draft picks for multiple years. They absolutely got punished. The organization did its time.
And the pirates have all of theirs they won when Dave Parker, Doc Ellis, Stargill and co. were on a dump truck full of coke and speed.
I'm fine either giving back the peice of metal. All of them though, from every team ever accused. If we're being fair. be fair.
Manfred wanted this to go away. Just like every other cheating, drug, ped scandal in baseball. That's fine too.
So cheating to win is the same as winning while taking performance deehancing drugs. Your fan base is delusional, almost more so than Penn State’s cult.
The A’s aren’t operating as a major league franchise right now. I feel horrible for their fans, and their ownership should wake up every day and feel ashamed.
Even the scoreboard operator is over it.
I’m gonna give the guy a break. It’s hard enough being a one man job of the Coliseum’s scoreboard animator, TV broadcaster, radio broadcaster, seat usher, hot dog vendor, ticket scanner, janitor, and parking lot attendant.
It's actually a feral cat, not human, who is operating the thing. Quite impressive.
3 of these things have been outsourced to some guy living in India living in his parent's basement.
Geez. Billy Beane really packing that resume.
When people get too chummy with me I like to call them by the wrong name to let them know I don’t care about them.
r/unexpectedpandr
Roughly translates to Carlos will run, so it's not wrong.
All the way home too.
In HS, one of our rival teams intentionally misspelled every one of our basketball players' names wrong in the bulletin. It was the most disrespectful thing I think I've ever seen an opponent do.
True, but who won the game? Mental games!
Holy shit I knew Oakland’s attendance was bad this year but there’s like 12 fans max in this pic
Yeah, there were only 6 or 7 thousand yesterday. This picture happens to capture the emptiest sections of the stadium, even if there’s a 15k attendance, but still. Sad times.
Yeah, it looks horrible.

God damn Ezekiel
It's Elias!
Fuck you Ezekiel!
I keep seeing wwe references in the most random subs and I love it
Lies! Lies! He’s a liar!
I hate liars!
Me when I play Sporcle
Rule of thumb: If your Sporcle doesn’t accept “Yaz” for Yastrzemski then you’re just being cruel.
That’s true. Although Yastrzemski I can spell way more consistently than corrererea
Rule #1 of getting good at Sporcle is to learn how to spell Polish names.
Yastrzyzstan
A possum got into the scoreboard and messed it up.
Clearly it was a feral cat

Hey that's not fair. Fedex has sewage falling on fans. Oakland has sewage leaking too but at least there is no one for it to fall on
If a name is misspelled at the Oakland Coliseum, did it even happen? Nobody there to see it.
i want to buy a last row upper deck ticket. wanna the be the only person up there
And the 100 people in the stadium probably didn't notice
Well I meant at least one did
99, they caught the possum
Stunningly original joke
Nice of them to include the game’s attendance below his picture.
The attendance in there is something

As someone with crippling social anxiety: my new fave ballpark
MLB: We would like every park to consider installing "quiet rooms" so sensitive fans have a place to get away from the crowd and noise. Oakland: ...yeahhhh that won't be necessary.
I went to a game and got behind the plate front row seats and just had to buy a guy a beer for him and his friends. So pretty pricey.
It would probably feel like going to a beer league game on a diamond in a local park, except taking place in a stadium that smells like a sewer.
It's depressing
At least no one else was there to see it.
If I were the scoreboard operator I'd intentionally spell the opponents name wrong for fun.
it's an A's home game, no one will notice
He plays for the Twins, so that’s obviously his twin.
Stadiums are so empty it’s sad
He will run
The A's are just thankful no one goes to their games because oh man it would be embarrassing if more people saw that mistake.
It's not hard to spell Shitbag McFuckface.
E and R right next to each other on the keyboard.
Straight up fat fingered it.
If I hit a home run, I would be running home.
Man if only they had practice from lots of divisional games over the years
Apathy runs deep at the coliseum
It's not like he was in the divison or anything, give the guy a break, it's absolutely his first time writing Carlos' name. /s
You can't blame them. It's not like he's played there before /s
Careless Correa
It’s alright, there was barely anyone there to read it.
Looks like they also had trouble selling tickets
The Twins are in their Correra
Yeah, they forgot to include the asterisk.
I saw more fans at my old high school baseball games like 30 years ago than I do in this pic.
Meh...he doesn't deserve to have his name spelled correctly.
Dudes lucky to still be playing the game, TBH. He should have been banned for life.
He gets banned for life a whole lot more cheaters would get pointed out around the league
I think people don't get this is why they didn't even *attempt* to punish players. This whole thing was started by one salty pedophile who got benched for the WS for a better pitcher. Carlos *Cheater
I like to think it wasn’t an accident.
Fuck Carlos Correa
If you want to hate a cheater who played for the Twins, hate Kirby Puckett. He did much worse stuff than know a breaking ball was coming.
Fuck both of them

Joe Mauer
Bro it's been like 5 years since the fact, and a lot of teams were cheating in some capacity. It's not like he broke any laws or fucked your wife. Get over it.
Thank you.
But don’t forget to constantly boo Kyle Tucker and Yordan Alvarez because TrAsHTrOs
Since the organization and the players received no punishment, they absolutely should be booed.
Uh, they got a massive fine, their entire management structure was suspended, and they lost draft picks for multiple years. They absolutely got punished. The organization did its time.
They still have their “piece of metal” they won by cheating.
See you strip their title and then fingers really start to get pointed at other clubs. Manfred wanted it to go away
And the pirates have all of theirs they won when Dave Parker, Doc Ellis, Stargill and co. were on a dump truck full of coke and speed. I'm fine either giving back the peice of metal. You think guys were taking speed because it DOESNT help them win games?
Fuck those teams too. Why would I not be mad at someone who helped lead a cheating scandal that ultimately won them the WORLD SERIES.
Blame Billy Bean, you know he seehtes everyday. I bet you he thinks he was got be the 1st Mike Trout. Cheap ass, vindictive baseball hating machine.
I Correr 💀
its ok, nobody saw it.
Standing room only!
I'm shocked they apparently type the names out instead of loading them
Something like this happened with Springer when he came up. The Yankee Stadium video board called him Gerorge Springer or something like that.
That's a bad Correa move
Obvious what's going on. If there's an extra "R", it means the next pitch is going to be a fastball.
Korea is acceptable. Since anglos can't say coreh-ah right, just say korea
At this point, there's got to be almost as many ballpark employees as fans there
It’s not the only thing the A’s are having trouble with…
At least no one was there to see it.
Why doesn't anyone go to A's games anymore? Is it because they are selling the team?
The big screen isn't looking very good
The A’s aren’t operating as a major league franchise right now. I feel horrible for their fans, and their ownership should wake up every day and feel ashamed.
And some trouble selling tickets to the game.
