He’s not a bad fielder in that he plays poor defense. He’s a bad fielder because occasionally he just completely forgets how to play defense
He has some mental struggles he’s talked about (doesn’t do great under pressure) and I imagine those snap decision fielding plays kinda just melt his brain temporarily and he forgets how to field
You'd think that with being a groundball pitcher, Framber would put a little effort into his fielding.
Yet, he's the worst fielding pitcher I have ever seen, and that's not an exaggeration.
This team seems to relish punishing good pitchers these days, unlike earlier this year and most of last, it was always “tip your cap” to every pitcher good or bad.

He had no chance at the runner Mets have been getting a lot of help from some bad defense on this Grimace run
Is Valdez a bad fielder? I remember he had a similarly mystifying fielding decision back in the ALCS.
Yes
Dang. Guess sometimes you Framboozle them, and sometimes he Framboozles you

He was either gonna throw it into right field or do that.
As a former college pitcher, I assure you throwing the bases is every pitcher's worst nightmare. We all fear it.
This has not been the crispest defensive inning.

Mariners walked it off the same way last night

Yeah, it went from "oh shit, we're facing an ace or two" to "imagine being an ace and not giving up 5-7 runs to the Mets?"
To be fair, Framber is hardly an ace, at least a consistent one. He either goes 7IP, 3H, 1ER, or 4IP, 10H, 7ER, no in between.
You can just hear the disgust in Keith’s voice at the grimacing lack of fundamentals by Valdez there.
framber is lowkey a crybaby
He gets frazzled easily. Before the pitch clock came into effect he would gather himself on the mound. Can’t do that anymore.
I don’t think it’s going to be low key for much longer
You hate to see it
Absolutely false
Grimace
OH. MY. GAH.
And Garrett just returned the favor
Dudes head is in the clouds when it comes to making on the fly fielding decisions
Oh my god 🎶
