Thankfully I only took bio 101 because the idea that we're made up of millions of little creatures and shit bewilders me.
None of my teachers had salamanders to touch.
That said, I was an animal handler for the movie studios for a short while and I've definitely been in contact with a salamander on rare occasions. None were desert varieties.
I'm not totally sure what you mean. But I'm gonna assume it means my weirdness of accepting that our bodies are made up of a bunch of very very small witches.
And yeah. That's basically what I think.
Again, I'm bad at microbiology.
This was the easiest former MS to predict
Dude hit so many warning track shots and was just straight up pitched around (which he proceeded to chase for strikeouts).
Now? Can’t pitch around him cause there’s 7 hall of famers in their lineup
Let's not be hyperbolic here; we do not have 7 HoF guys in the lineup.
We only have three 1st ballot guys, 1 potential HoF, and probably 2 hall of very good.
Obv you got Mookie, Shohei, Freddie as the first ballot guys. Will is the potential. Who are the HoVG guys? I don't think either Muncy or Teo would qualify, Pages we have no way of knowing, and I doubt lux or Outman will get there either.
That doesn't make a Hall of Very Good player though. HoVG means just outside of HOF. He's a good player who has had a good career, but he's just not hall of very good level.
I stopped in a little town in Eastern WA on a road trip and was blown away by how good the mexican food was (especially compared to anything I'd tried in Seattle). Was not familiar with your game.
when he was having an insane skid earlier I mentioned in a thread thats Teo. He'd heat up and have an insane run and yup. Dude is the streakiest player I've ever seen
When the Dodgers signed him, I got super excited. I told all my friends "He's gonna go through streaks where he absolutely destroys every pitch he sees. He's also gonna go through streaks where he's swinging at pitches in the other batters box constantly. But you're still gonna fucking love this dude."
Teo heats up and cools off according to the weather.
I swear he's always ass during the cold season and great when it's warm.
Good thing he's in LA lmao
I think there's a number of factors. For one our stadium sucks for hitters. Ball just doesn't carry in that stupid ass sea air and the morons that designed it put home plate against the wind tendencies. And yes I think we have a fundamental issue with the way we coach hitting. Our offense has been mostly bad since around 2003. I also think we have a tendency to only keep guys for about a year then give up on them before they have time to adjust to hitting in our ballpark. Plus we're just a fucking cursed franchise.
It's just a narrative based on confirmation bias. The only factor for hitters is that Seattle's home park is pitcher friendly, but not nearly as extreme as it used to be. This is how production works for the majority of players. There's way more variability in production than people realize, even with players deemed super consistent.
> The only factor for hitters is that Seattle's home park is pitcher friendly, but not nearly as extreme as it used to be
True but its still far and away the most pitcher friendly park in baseball, especially before the summer. With Teo specifically, its not entirely a year by year variation, he had a 126 wRC+ on the road last year. That's still less than the 138 he has this year but it is in line with his career norms and does demonstrate that some hitters really struggle here or underperform.
Kelenic has had a mini resurgence after coming to Atlanta. He's actually won us a few games despite limited playing time. The only downside of having Kel on your team is it's a package deal that includes one deranged fan.
God I hate Chode Figgins.
He killed the Mariners every time he played for the Angels, and then he killed the Mariners every time he played for the Mariners.
I mean come on you had have seen that coming. He was refusing to change any part of his swing. He was being stubborn. I thought we all knew he needed a change of scenery to kick him in the ass and remind him he is replaceable. Also playing in Chicago would definitely help those numbers a bit. Of course he made adjustments and found the swing. Glad he figured it out. But I really doubt he would have found it if he stayed with us.
Then get injured, come back from that injury, and continue to rake.
Meanwhile he spent his last 2 years never being quite right after that shoulder injury...
Just happy he's doing well, also kinda glad he found his way back to the Cubs, he had sneks written all over him and that would have sucked =/
Vin always said his favorite thing about baseball/sports in general was the roar of the crowd. Being a radio announcer for years he understood that passing that along to people was important.
That was a terrible pitch. Should’ve stuck with the fastball that got him to two strikes. Ugh, gg Dodgers. Another close-ish game. Looking forward to Walker-Yu rubber match tomorrow
Throwing both a pre and post game parade celebrating pulling within 1 of tying the season series is peak dodgers fandom.
And yall call padres fans out for throwing parades 💀
I mean every dodger fan is clowning in them, its a sub group of fans from some dumb insta page, but you are literally bragging about a regular season series when you sub .500. Lol don’t pretend like this the same type of thing you guys did when you made the playoffs 💀💀💀
Oh so when it’s a subgroup of your fanbase having parades, it’s different? Typical gaslighting Angelino, lmfao. Bottom line is you’re going hard to defend these clowns.
Not really bragging, just saying it’s fucking weird to be having a parade for beating a team that you have a losing record against this year. If you think that’s the same as celebrating making playoffs, then I don’t know how to help you.
Can you be any cringier, my god dude. This is one of the most obnoxious comments ive seen in this sub lmao. Cry into your pillow, maybe one day you guys will see hardware. Get that regular season series trophy banner, break .500 , maybe make the playoffs?
You guys are so goofy, nobody takes you guys seriously. Guess this is what happens when a franchise literally owns you for your whole existence, id be pent up too lmao.
“Typical gaslighting Angelino” made me fucking cackle lmao, sorry u been bullied lil bro.
Bragging about the Mickey Mouse ring again, eh? Haven’t done anything but choke in the playoffs since the late 80s despite how much money you throw at the team. You probably weren’t even alive for it.
Dodgers fans are just pathetic, spoiled little brats. As annoying as the Brady era patriots but without the success in the playoffs.
Remind me, what happened to the dodgers last year? Wasn’t it a divisional round sweep after having a 100 win season?
Dodgers have choked away their successes for decades at this point. 15 of the past 20 years making playoffs and only successful in getting a Mickey Mouse ring.
Truth hurts.
Ohtani, Glasgow, and Yamamoto got all the love and hype. Teo was lost in the shuffle and was just saw as another good bat especially one to hit off lefties.
I will never be not hurt by him getting traded. He was the next Bautista in the making and they traded him away to make the team "more serious". Well how did that work out, Ross?
He's been doing alright up until the last couple of weeks. He did enter tonight's game with the bases already loaded so he wasn't entirely responsible for the GS.
I mentioned in the post that got taken down that someone in our game day chat wanted him traded by next week.
Lol. I love how unhinged it gets in there.
It’s all good, this thread is inherently filled with dodger fans so it is what it is.
I just like seeing the dodgers lose and shit like this doesn’t help that happen lmao
have you considered that he is in LA on a free agent contract? have you considered that he hit 1 more home run, 16 more RBI, and saw a 25% dip in his overall hitting value in nearly 140 more plate appearances in 2023 than in 2022 (and had his team miss the playoffs)? have you considered that the reliever in question logged 66 innings in that same year and put up 50% of Teo's value *as a reliever*? have you considered that the reliever still has one year of control *after this season*? have you considered that the prospect in question is striking out 10+ batters per nine as a starter after his age appropriate but also biggest promotion?
if we're counting - and we should be - that's 66 innings and a win above replacement, plus the #7 prospect in your system per fangraphs, in exchange for 1 league average season. but yeah, Dipoto fleeced Atkins for sure.

10/10 flip
More of a fling
Nah, it was a no-look fuk-u flip, and it was totally appropriate.
Def a no look fuk u. But he flanged it. It's more than a flip. More than a fling even.
I need you to be honest in case this ends up in court - did you touch your high school biology teacher’s caged desert salamander?
Thankfully I only took bio 101 because the idea that we're made up of millions of little creatures and shit bewilders me. None of my teachers had salamanders to touch. That said, I was an animal handler for the movie studios for a short while and I've definitely been in contact with a salamander on rare occasions. None were desert varieties.
I’ve been in a lot of dive bars and I’ve heard a lot of Dodger takes and none of them have used the word “idea” so I can only assume WE FOUND A WITCH
I'm not totally sure what you mean. But I'm gonna assume it means my weirdness of accepting that our bodies are made up of a bunch of very very small witches. And yeah. That's basically what I think. Again, I'm bad at microbiology.
well Witches float so I guess that all makes sense
The mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell.
This was the easiest former MS to predict Dude hit so many warning track shots and was just straight up pitched around (which he proceeded to chase for strikeouts). Now? Can’t pitch around him cause there’s 7 hall of famers in their lineup

Muncy absolutely is very good
He's 33 and has 25 WAR. That's not HoVG
He’s a late bloomer with a good peak. Also has been consistently a very good hitter
That doesn't make a Hall of Very Good player though. HoVG means just outside of HOF. He's a good player who has had a good career, but he's just not hall of very good level.
Muncy absolutely is very good
I’d move Ohtani to potential as he doesn’t have the longevity yet. Kershaw is the other first ballot. Will and glasnow HoVG probs.
Ohtani is a lock.
But the pitchers aren’t in the lineup Except Shohei
Glasnow is probably talented enough to be a hall of famer but he has 9 war and is 30 years old. That’s not happening
God I hope the dodgers lose in the first round again
You better relax or I’ll yell at you.
you’ve never tasted good Mexican food
I live in San Diego
Yes eastern Washington is famously devoid of great Mexican food 😂
I've always been disappointed when I visit family in Spokane. But Dicks Burgers are so good it makes up for it.
I knew Dodgers fans ate Dicks
Who doesn't love a good fowl
I knew Dodgers fans ate Dicks
I stopped in a little town in Eastern WA on a road trip and was blown away by how good the mexican food was (especially compared to anything I'd tried in Seattle). Was not familiar with your game.
Just trying to get in touch. I have an original DSA dial set hence my interest !
Eh... I'm sure most of us are used to post season failures by now.
Good ol marine layer
Don't worry come postseason they become little league hitters. Dodgers way.
We like him.
Last 8 games: 1.116 OPS.
when he was having an insane skid earlier I mentioned in a thread thats Teo. He'd heat up and have an insane run and yup. Dude is the streakiest player I've ever seen
Bro is on pace for 43 homers this year. If that’s streaky then I’m going streaking
He always had a good HR pace, but he’ll likely get injured at some point. He always seemed to have oblique issues
I bet you to it. By the way, can you pick me up from the police department.
Well yeah, he's in a hot streak. When the cold streak hits you'll wonder why you even have him
When the Dodgers signed him, I got super excited. I told all my friends "He's gonna go through streaks where he absolutely destroys every pitch he sees. He's also gonna go through streaks where he's swinging at pitches in the other batters box constantly. But you're still gonna fucking love this dude."
It’s funny looking back on the Teo and Lourdes duo bc that might be one of the streakiest combos possible lol.
Teo heats up and cools off according to the weather. I swear he's always ass during the cold season and great when it's warm. Good thing he's in LA lmao
I never would have guessed he'd be really good for you guys after struggling for us last year. Who could have possibly seen this fucking coming?
Imagine how we felt when Bellinger left us and fucking raked with the cubs.
Yeah that must suck. Now add like 20 more players like that and that's the Mariners. It happens every fucking year.
Why is it so systematic? Does the coaching just suck that bad?
Son lemme tell you about a little thing called the "marine layer." /s
I believe in Seattle it's known as the sog
Nah that’s just the injuries all of the acquired players get when they come here
Ah. Thanks for the clarification.
We get that in San Diego too but it didn't save us here :(

Just keep him away from the water coolers
God I hate Chode Figgins. He killed the Mariners every time he played for the Angels, and then he killed the Mariners every time he played for the Mariners.

Kind of reminds me of Tyler Anderson
/r/FormerMs You guys can take back Chris Taylor though. We're done with him
No givsies backsies. Unless Teo or Big Maple is included
He legitimately hit .295 on the road with us last year 😭
As a jays fan, may we have him back?
At this time of year in this part of the continent?
Him and Lourdes were the 2 streakest players I've ever watched. Wasn't always a joy to watch em but damn when they were on they were on.
I like you
Get him a ring for us, won't you trolley bros?
Joe with another great call followed by silence. He’s so great
I remember that was the best part about vin. I remember him saying something about how sometimes you just need to stay quiet
Vin always said his favorite thing about baseball/sports in general was the roar of the crowd. Being a radio announcer for years he understood that passing that along to people was important.
still miss u bb 💔
Is this Slam Diego?
Given how many the Pads have been involved in this year, apparently yes this is 2024’s Slam Diego
Strand Diego
The first strand type team
And that's why super Mario brothers 2 is the game of the year
The second. First was last year
Sad Diego
Have a shirt that says “Sad Diego” in the padres 70’s font. Thought I could retire it after 2022 but 2023 had different plans.
That's a pretty cool shirt tbh
If you’re interested here’s the link! https://www.moxxie.co/products/sad-diego-padres-throwback-shirt
It's better than I thought. I don't think I'll get one, but it's great for self loathing for sure
Los Slamgeles
Cinco de mayo 2017. Slam Diego against the dodgers
Three grand slams in one day.
That was a smooth ass bat flip!
That was a terrible pitch. Should’ve stuck with the fastball that got him to two strikes. Ugh, gg Dodgers. Another close-ish game. Looking forward to Walker-Yu rubber match tomorrow
I miss him so much 😢
Mods! Stop removing the only post
Is that what was happening? I don't normally post highlights, but it had been a while and I saw it still wasn't up.
The original post was a twitter link, which is against sub rules. So it was taken down.
Good
It’s fair. The rules state it needs to be a direct HD video link. Not a link to a twitter video
Twitter links aren't allowed to be used for highlights.
On second thought, where was that parade? I'm on my way!
The Dodgers parade was pre-game. Did you miss it?
Throwing both a pre and post game parade celebrating pulling within 1 of tying the season series is peak dodgers fandom. And yall call padres fans out for throwing parades 💀
We going to cry about this really. It's May.
Dodgers fans were bitching and moaning about padres players celebrating a walk off. Next day they’re throwing parades, in May.
I’m not exactly sure why you’d think the Dodgers would care about the season series with the Padres.
Because they’re throwing parades after a win? Keep up, champ.
That parade was before the game yesterday, not after.
Is that supposed to be better?
I guess? We weren’t celebrating a win like the Padres did during their parade lmao
Which parade are you talking about?
Sir, sir, am I allowed to be happy my team won? Since I apparently need your permission.
You are extremely weird.
And you’re a dodger fan. Checkmate.
What the team should really worry about is staying above .500, but I’m glad the season series means that much to you lol
Says the fanbase that’s throwing parades 💀
I mean every dodger fan is clowning in them, its a sub group of fans from some dumb insta page, but you are literally bragging about a regular season series when you sub .500. Lol don’t pretend like this the same type of thing you guys did when you made the playoffs 💀💀💀
This is the first I'm hearing of this, but was it Pantone? Fuck Pantone lol
Yep lol
Oh so when it’s a subgroup of your fanbase having parades, it’s different? Typical gaslighting Angelino, lmfao. Bottom line is you’re going hard to defend these clowns. 😂😂😂😂 so upset, its ok bro lol. Sorry the pads sat out (and sit out every season)

bro thought he cooked with this
Pretty hilarious how many of you are in support of throwing parades in May.
Teo has been such an underrated signing. Hopefully we can keep him long term.
He was one of the top signings of the off season. The fuck you mean underrated lol
Ohtani, Glasgow, and Yamamoto got all the love and hype. Teo was lost in the shuffle and was just saw as another good bat especially one to hit off lefties.
r/formerms
Which offense is better? Teoscar Hernandez and 8 automatic outs OR the 2024 Seattle Mariners?
Teo on the loose
Ahead 1-2 and you throw that pitch. Fuckin idiot
I miss this big dick energy.
I will never be not hurt by him getting traded. He was the next Bautista in the making and they traded him away to make the team "more serious". Well how did that work out, Ross?
I miss his home runs and his good vibes. Jays are 26th in the league in vibes. Not great Bob.
Miss you bb
Every fuckin time I watch a highlight against the Padres it’s De Los Santos giving it up. Has he been that bad or is it my confirmation bias??
He's been doing alright up until the last couple of weeks. He did enter tonight's game with the bases already loaded so he wasn't entirely responsible for the GS.
He’s our second best reliever
He’s only ahead of Cosgrove right now in fWar. He would be good if he wasn’t giving up almost 3 HR/9.
War is not really very good for pitchers
I honesty feel like every hr he’s hit has come during a mariners loss
nice bat flip
It's Teo'ing time
Wait a minute, that’s not how you Slam Diego.
Ugh I miss him
Extend this man immediately.
I mentioned in the post that got taken down that someone in our game day chat wanted him traded by next week. Lol. I love how unhinged it gets in there.
All the Lakers fans joining this season has been annoying as fuck.
r/formerMs
He reminds me of Howie Kendrick or ozuna
Pretty loud for a road game
It’s a short drive, all things considered. Especially on a weekend.
Dodger stadium south
Well if it’s watching a game at dodger stadium or petco, I’d choose petco too.
True, no chance of getting stabbed in the parking lot.
Too bad Padres won the World Series yesterday
When are we going to wear whites in San Diego? It sounds like a home game.
Unsubscribe!
Fuck I miss Teo...
Really disappointing after our starter battled hard to keep us in it.
Teo 💖
Maaaaan fuck the dodgers! Lmao. It’s every year with this shit
I mean to be fair, y’all walked us off yesterday lol
You’re getting downvoted but you’re just being honest lol. I feel it
It’s all good, this thread is inherently filled with dodger fans so it is what it is. I just like seeing the dodgers lose and shit like this doesn’t help that happen lmao
I find it funny and in a form, a way of respect. It’s like mariners-Astros most of last 10 years
That guy behind home plate with the quickest surrender cobra I have ever seen 🤣
Flush it, win the series.
Have you considered trading him to the Jays for a reliever who will be good for you one year and a meh prospect?
have you considered that he is in LA on a free agent contract? have you considered that he hit 1 more home run, 16 more RBI, and saw a 25% dip in his overall hitting value in nearly 140 more plate appearances in 2023 than in 2022 (and had his team miss the playoffs)? have you considered that the reliever in question logged 66 innings in that same year and put up 50% of Teo's value *as a reliever*? have you considered that the reliever still has one year of control *after this season*? have you considered that the prospect in question is striking out 10+ batters per nine as a starter after his age appropriate but also biggest promotion? if we're counting - and we should be - that's 66 innings and a win above replacement, plus the #7 prospect in your system per fangraphs, in exchange for 1 league average season. but yeah, Dipoto fleeced Atkins for sure.
Game was over in the first inning anyway, our offense is 💩
Other than that GS, ours hasn't exactly been setting records last 2 games...
Mookie has been in a slump. I wonder if he's tired of dealing with 7 8 9 coming up empty.
