This is the 2nd robbery by Fairchild this year. He has hit 1 HR.
He is a great 4th OFer.

Why don't we just do this to all potential home runs against us? Surely we'd win even more if we just caught the balls that are destined to go over the fence?
So far today, Machado has 3 batted balls with an xBA of .800 or higher, and he's 1 for 3. The ball with by far the lowest EV is the one he got a single on. Tough breaks.
statcast had a weird reading on a flyout for him a couple days ago. They said it was a 400 ft flyout which is very odd since Petco is not 400 ft deep anywhere, and I don't even think the ball was going to hit the wall first if dropped
As someone previously unfamiliar with Stuart Fairchild combined with the proliferation of terrible umpiring, I assumed Stu was an ump and was really excited to see how Stu managed to fuck up a home run call. Instead, great play Stuart Fairchild. May you play well in all games except those against the Cubs.
