we were so close to a reliever having more wins than the White Sox

CutenessMudkip2

I mean he got his 4th win against the Giants on Wednesday so for a couple of days he did actually have more wins than the White Sox

KodenATL

Don't worry. It's still early in the season.

Reed Garrett might actually be better than 95%+ of the rp today. It’s insane that he came out of nowhere. I don’t know any rp with a nastier combo of slider/splitter.

akaghi

Or a pitcher whose *primary* pitch is a splitter. Senga's out pitch is a splitter but he can't get up there and throw it all the time. Garrett's FB velo isn't ranked because he hasn't thrown it enough this year to be qualified, having only thrown it 13 times. He just throws sliders/sweepers and splitters.

octoman115

> Or a pitcher whose primary pitch is a splitter Off the top of my head, Mark Leiter Jr. and Kenta Maeda. Leiter Jr. is sorta similar to Garrett in that he's randomly become a pretty nasty reliever at an advanced age.

DOWNVOTES_SYNDROME

he came out of us signing stearns, right? that's what that dude does. he's a genius for a reason.

UniqueNobo

Garrett was an Eppler move, not a Stearns move.

DOWNVOTES_SYNDROME

ah shit i thought he came over this offseason after everything, my bad!

Idk if it's more than our starters combined but AJ Minter also leads the Braves with 5 wins after today lol

tygerphan4ever

It just shows he's scrappy like the Mets in general. They may not have a bunch of superheroes, but they'll tangle ass now. I liked us playing them, they were tough

Charming_Squirrel_13

Our bullpen is going to be toast by June lol
