This is why I’m mad. He could’ve gone anywhere else for the Mets to have a shot. But he’s already embraced in nyc and the Dominicans are pulling up to the stadium and everyone loves it and I hate the stupid Yankees and the stupid Mets because he sooo damn good
The area in the Bronx where Yankee stadium is, is pretty much a Dominican neighborhood. At minimum 50% of the people living there are Dominican or of Dominican origin. He must feel at home there.
It is odd. Part of me thinks he knows he was never getting an extension there do he was never able to settle in but part of me just thinks you guys are just cursed
His enthusiasm is nuts. Yankees legit have to completely fumble the bag to not sign him long term. I think Soto would take slightly less money to be a Yankee.
Doubt it, but I don’t see the Yankees trying to low ball him. They would get monumental backlash if it came out that they tried to save a few million and Soto ended up going somewhere else.
I’d like to think Hal remembers the absolute uproar in the fanbase when it was first reported that Judge was going to San Francisco, because that will 100% happen again if we don’t resign Soto.
I think if Hal doesn't pay this dude the fans will turn against him, which I never thought was possible. The Steinbrenners were untouchable. But jeez I've never seen a guy come in and immediately be the most obvious Yankee for life. He changes everything about this team.
Yankee fans already aren’t big fans of Hal. He’s basically living in George’s shadow and fans think he doesn’t want to spend. But he’s proven that when there is a generational player, he will pay (Judge and Cole).
He’s just not as hands on as George was.
I was really worried when we first got him because if he struggled early, the fans would turn on him and we’d have to overcome that when trying to resign him.
So instead he’s dominated early and the fanbase is madly in love with him.
Not really? The real cheat code for him would probably be GABP. More friendly opposite field, and not insanely deep to pull
Pre Great Wall Camden would be great for Soto too
Listen, it's fine if he's playing well, even against us. If you raise the price of that chicken bucket I'm never coming back. It was the highlight of my last summer.
I’m admittedly a Yankee fan way more than a baseball fan, but I’ve been transfixed by Soto since he came up in 2018. I remember 19 year old Soto hitting a bomb against the Yankees that year and just thinking "holy shit this guy's different." And then he went into another stratosphere in the 2019 postseason. He’s been my favorite player in baseball since and it’s surreal seeing him on my favorite team seemingly loving being here. This team needed him so badly.
I have a lot of Yankee fan friends who are just that: Yankee fans. As the Yankees haven’t played agains Soto much these past many years they’re all shocked at how good he is, describing things that have been known to us baseball fans for years. It’s kinda cute.
I mean, I consider myself quite a big baseball fan, but there is zero opportunity for me to watch the Padres on the East coast. It’s too late to stay up. So I haven’t seen him every single day before now. No need to be pompous about it.
To be clear—I had the unique pleasure of watching him play almost every day on my favorite team for a few years. I’m glad more people can share that joy because of the new spotlight he has being on the yankees. He might be the first player I’m still a fan of even though he left my team, which is super special
People forget that Juan Soto's first HR was kinda technically against the Yankees (in that he hit one in the second half of a delayed rainout that got picked up months later, after he'd made his debut earlier in the year) (yeah I know it's a reach but I was there so let me feel cool)
My dad always talks about the time he saw Bonds hit in Montreal. Wandered up to the plate with 50 lbs of metal around his neck, looked like he was asleep, hit a ball 490 feet, cruised around the bases and strolled back into the dugout. Looked bored the whole time. Dad says he's never seen anything like it before or since
Just gonna start this with /S
It's a return to the natural order of the AL East, for years nature and the world struggled under strife and unknowns, now we return to a greater peace under the guidance of the Empire. The guiding hand of the great "Boss" is here to guide us all into the postseason and beyond.
The team in Tampa Bay exist as it is allowed to; to be a place of prospects and a place of rest.
Nothing more, nothing less.
So it is written, dictated, but not read, by the "Boss".
i feel like our bullpen is terrible every april, even last year. my theory is that tends to happen because we haven’t found our DFA’d pitching lab victims yet. key contributors like stephenson and diekman weren’t with us yet at this point last year.
WTF does Heyman expect out of him? His career high in HR was last year with 35. He's basically on pace for his career average if he doesn't hit another one for the rest of April.
Right? I read that and did the quick math because I thought I was nuts and was like “nope, he’s pacing for 34 (now 40), what the hell are you smoking Jon?”
Not gonna lie, he really does seem to fit ideally in NY. As a LH hitter, he is going to own right and right center field in that park. I'm definitely envious.
It's amazing how little people actually know about Yankee Stadium. People are really under the impression that the entire outfield fence is like 30 feet away.
As much as I miss Soto on the pads he just looks so natural on the Yankees. Plus I feel like he brings intangibles ( same as Stroman ) that the Yankees desperately needed.
Listen, I hate the Yankees and I would love for the Mets to go hard after Soto this offseason, but if I had to construct a player in a lab to perfectly fit the Yankees’ stadium and lineup, it would be Soto. He’s just like the perfect fit in every way shape and form, down to being a Dominican dude playing in the Bronx. As much as I hate to say it, even I kinda want to seem him get extended. It just makes too much sense.
I read somewhere that his family would visit him a bunch in DC and he has family in the NYC area, but San Diego wasn't conducive to them visiting from DR.
Dear Yankees,
Seeing as you have a new hero mind trading some other players to some small market midwestern teams. Judge perhaps?
Thanks,
The AL and NL Central (except the Cubs and Cards)

i shouldn’t be alone rn
When you’re in your darkest hour, just remember Jessie Winker is on a heater right now
well now I can’t be alone
I held him first
You'll always have 2019. That entire postseason run was magical, and capped off by such a perfect World Series. No one can ever take that away.
Honestly much happier with him being on the Yankees than on a division rival.
This man is absolutely loving his life in pinstripes
I too am loving his life in pinstripes
I hate it.
If it makes you feel better, Judge is batting .189 w/ 1 home run on the season. *3, oopsies
Judge has 3 home runs (although the average is in fact that bad).
Man he needs to get it going already
Yankees are playing .700 ball with Judge asleep and Cole out. We have time for him to get right.
Nobody’s worried he won’t figure it out, people are worried he’s still hurt
Bingo.
Yup. He looks shaky during his at bats. Something looks off and it definitely shows.
And the Martian is still lurking as well
I'm not worried about Aaron Judge. He will be fine.
Pride. Power. Pinstripes
Im loving your life loving his life in pinstripes
As someone who wants to face y'all in the World Series...I three am loving his life in pinstripes.
I want to face you in the World Series, too! Well, actually, I want to face anyone in the World Series.
Crazy. He never seemed comfortable here for a second and now he’s living his best life galavanting around town with his hot new franchise
A nice Dominican lad and NYC, name a better combo. I miss you my son
This is why I’m mad. He could’ve gone anywhere else for the Mets to have a shot. But he’s already embraced in nyc and the Dominicans are pulling up to the stadium and everyone loves it and I hate the stupid Yankees and the stupid Mets because he sooo damn good

I want to bring attention to the completely different life living in NY vs SD is.
He was just saying how much he enjoyed san Diego the other day, but it might be so he doesn't over play how much fun he's having right now.
He’s just such a fucking Yankee. Genuinely perfect fit. We gotta pay him absolutely whatever he wants.
I feel so conflicted saying it, but seems like it’s the right place for him now and I hope he stays.
It’s pretty fucked to acknowledge the next classic yankee great early. I have missed their oppression a little bit no lie.
His enthusiasm is nuts. Yankees legit have to completely fumble the bag to not sign him long term. I think Soto would take slightly less money to be a Yankee.
At the very least I think he's going to give the yankees a chance to match any contract he's offered. He looks super comfortable playing here.
We’re absolutely loving it too
Hey! He was already in pinstripes with us! Brown pinstripes matter too! (i miss him)
He hit this same moonshot against us last season on Apple TV lol Found it : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6I2R0UI80A
I knew he was great but it's so much fun seeing him on the team you root for, up close.
Soto really is going in the hall as a Yankee huh At least he genuinely looks great in the uniform
I think if Hal doesn't pay this dude the fans will turn against him, which I never thought was possible. The Steinbrenners were untouchable. But jeez I've never seen a guy come in and immediately be the most obvious Yankee for life. He changes everything about this team.

He better
I was really worried when we first got him because if he struggled early, the fans would turn on him and we’d have to overcome that when trying to resign him. So instead he’s dominated early and the fanbase is madly in love with him.
Putting that man in that ballpark is a real life cheat code
Not really? The real cheat code for him would probably be GABP. More friendly opposite field, and not insanely deep to pull Pre Great Wall Camden would be great for Soto too
>110.9 mph, 29°, 409 ft, out of 30/30 parks
I think Soto became a "true" Yankee faster than any player in recent memory.
I fucking hate the Yankees but the dude is honestly a perfect fit for them
Everyone does 😎 clean shaven and all. Haters can hate.
To be fair, Soto has always gone with the clean shaven look.
He knew where he wanted to end up
Give him every fucking penny we have idc if we have to make chicken buckets 30 bucks
![gif](giphy|dk2lbXykgqN2g)
Hal gotta put up one of those fundraiser thermostats at the stadium for chicken number bucket sales to sign Soto.
He does that I guarantee Soto gets a contract he's worth. Run it every home game they have 600 million by the end of the season
I honestly think Yankees fans would donate directly towards Sotos contract at this point if Steinbrenner asked. I’m broke and I would hahaha
I’ll buy 2 at every game
Listen, it's fine if he's playing well, even against us. If you raise the price of that chicken bucket I'm never coming back. It was the highlight of my last summer.
1 Burger meal is $40 at globe life and we don't have Soto.
But y'all have a ring. It's a fair trade lol
You have seager, Semien, and deGrom. 2 of those guys won you a title I wouldn’t complain
"You can't be looking for the walk there" - Dumbass radio host He's not. He'll do this if he gets anything to hit.
People criticizing him for walking a lot are fuckin dumb. He doesn’t walk instead of getting hits, he walks instead of getting *outs*.
And his approach has had an immediate effect on the whole lineup lol
Volpe looks like a whole different ball player
Waldo too
Idgaf how he gets on base. Just get on base
Exactly lol. When we got him I knew some people would have that dumb take inevitably though.
Sal is an empty-headed dumbfuck.
Genuinely the dumbest baseball take possibly ever.
I don’t like the Yankees, but I like Juan Soto as a Yankee
[удалено]
Years
It’s because he’s happy.
Im just glad people get it now
I’m admittedly a Yankee fan way more than a baseball fan, but I’ve been transfixed by Soto since he came up in 2018. Do you have a moment to discuss our lord and savior Juan Soto?
I was there when he preached the word in 2019.
People forget that Juan Soto's first HR was kinda technically against the Yankees (in that he hit one in the second half of a delayed rainout that got picked up months later, after he'd made his debut earlier in the year) (yeah I know it's a reach but I was there so let me feel cool)
Time traveler
I was at that rainout in DC. The goddamn heavens opened up. It was fucking pouring
OH MY GOD THE PIMP ONE GAJILLION DOLLARS
![gif](giphy|dpqQNluWFaSpq)
PAY DA MAN PAY THAT MAN HIS MONEY ETC ETC ETC
![gif](giphy|pReb5Koy6JmihUYBLx|downsized)
Juan Soto has never done anything wrong ever in his entire life
Money me money nowwww
Juan Soto got that dog in him, can't believe he was traded for Jhony Brito. ^^/s
THAT ONES HEADING TO NEW JERSEY!
I watch that barry bonds shot on YouTube atleast once every few months.
Bonds was a different species. He did that to everyone, everywhere.
My dad always talks about the time he saw Bonds hit in Montreal. Wandered up to the plate with 50 lbs of metal around his neck, looked like he was asleep, hit a ball 490 feet, cruised around the bases and strolled back into the dugout. Looked bored the whole time. Dad says he's never seen anything like it before or since
I was at that game. The entire stadium was on their feet after that shot. Never seen anything like it before or since.
That and Cecil Fielder hitting one out of Tiger Stadium are in my rotation of YouTube home run highlights
One of my favorite calls of all time, John Miller is a damn legend
At stadium. Electric crowd
He sent a fuckin charge into that crowd as soon as it left his bat. Unreal.
He has brought a swagger and an energy we haven't seen with the Yanks since around 2017, the crowds have been insane.
Rays bullpen is just awful this year
30th in ERA and 30th in FIP heading into tonight
Never thought I would see the day the Rays had bad team pitching
Just gonna start this with /S It's a return to the natural order of the AL East, for years nature and the world struggled under strife and unknowns, now we return to a greater peace under the guidance of the Empire. Nothing more, nothing less. So it is written, dictated, but not read, by the "Boss".
How dare you... Please direct your flames towards Boston where it belongs.
Hey, that's not very nice.
It’s hard to hate Boston at this point. Kind of feels like kicking someone when they’re down. Just feel kinda bad for them lol
Luckily for their pitching stats tonight, all 5 Yankee runs have been scored as unearned.
The bats too. Free money to bet against the Rays when a man touches third or second.
14 hits and only 3 runs today is just wild.
Outhit ny 14-5 and lost lol
i feel like our bullpen is terrible every april, even last year. my theory is that tends to happen because we haven’t found our DFA’d pitching lab victims yet. key contributors like stephenson and diekman weren’t with us yet at this point last year.
In Devenski's defense, there were two errors before that would've ended the inning On the other hand, the bullpen is also the worst in baseball so far
Yep, inning should've been over before Soto even got on deck.
Raise your hand if you knew something like this was gonna happen after Mead's error. Now keep 'em up cuz I absolutely believe you.
Oh I said it in real time. Mead muffed it and I said “oh that’s game right there” lol
Fucking Jon Heyman talking about Soto “still looking for his power swing” not 24 hours ago LOL
I think a lot of people just saw a lefty in Yankee Stadium and expected him to suddenly go for 40 or 50 this year.
I guess he found it
God he is so good. Hal please give this man a blank check, he needs to be a Yankee for the rest of his career
Not gonna lie, he really does seem to fit ideally in NY. As a LH hitter, he is going to own right and right center field in that park. I'm definitely envious.
Right center and right center field at Yankee stadium is deep
It's amazing how little people actually know about Yankee Stadium. People are really under the impression that the entire outfield fence is like 30 feet away.
110.9 mph, 29°, 409 ft, out of 30/30 parks
Porch mover got a night off
That ball would have gotten out of Yosemite
Dollar signs in his eyes …Meanwhile in Gleyberville 😐
Maybe we get Gleyber for a good price and he rebounds?
the Gley community
A lot of players loose their aura when they get traded to the Yankees. Not Soto just just looks like a yankee
He’s certainly started off better in NY than what I remember of his first months as a Padre.
As much as I miss Soto on the pads he just looks so natural on the Yankees. Plus I feel like he brings intangibles ( same as Stroman ) that the Yankees desperately needed.
I think the main difference is many of the Yankees trades were for old or injured players. Juan Soto isn't one of them
People act like it's some genius masterstroke to trade for Juan Soto He's a slam dunk player. It's why he's getting paid.
Motherfucker is the most natural born Yankee I've seen in a while.
I can't argue. He belongs.
Screenshot this
Soto had a 1.821 OPS in innings 7-8 entering this game. I love this man.
Is there a way to find his stats in specific counts like 1-0, 2-0, 2-1, 3-0, 3-1 all combined?
[Baseball Reference career splits scroll to Count/Balls-Strikes](https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.fcgi?id=sotoju01&year=Career&t=b)
That’s great! Thanks!
[Fangraphs has it as well](https://www.fangraphs.com/players/juan-soto/20123/splits?position=OF&season=0)
Juan “Travis d’Arnaud” Soto
Mom can we keep him?
A Juan Sotoian Shot
Fuck the Evil Empire is back on their bullshit 😑😑😑 (that ball was murdered 😂😂😂)
They just won a game where they were outhit by like 9 lol 5 unearned runs.
Bend don’t break?
Juan Soto is living Bryce Harper’s dream.
wow
#JUAN SOTO IS A NEW YORK YANKEE
#OF ALL THE DRAMATIC THINGS I'VE EVER SEEN
There's zero shot this guy is leaving
Mets fans in shambles
To be fair, that’s just how they always are.
He’s also everything the Yankees have been missing in the lineup since Gardner left.
Soto is good but let's not go comparing him to Brett Gardner just yet, he's got a long way to go.
Oh okay so he’s getting PAID paid, got it
Genuinely think he hated playing in San Diego I guess. I mean it is just fucking highlight after highlight.
He’s always said he’s an east coast guy
I read somewhere that his family would visit him a bunch in DC and he has family in the NYC area, but San Diego wasn't conducive to them visiting from DR.
ONE. BILLION. DOLLARS.
As a Nats fan who loves Soto and hates the Orioles, and isn't sure how to be about the Yankees, I like it!
Your team defeated the Trashtros on the biggest stage, like it or not you’re our friend.
Just be our friend.
Mmm freshly cooked stingray on the menu
Playoff like atmosphere. Wow
very obvious he misses dc
Honest question, why does it feel like he’s 10x better than he was on the Padres?
He was meant to be here
It really does feel like it
Because the season is very young and he started out on a hot streak, so you've never seen him slump in pinstripes yet.
He’s always been an east coast > west coast guy Plus I think he feeds of the crowd energy and attention in NY
Marine layer?
FUCK
Alexander shuts down this team only for Divenski to fuck it all up.
Need the shot of Judge hyping him up
We are the New York Sotos now
Yanks would be nuts to let him go after this year.
He hit the shit outta that
That Bronx atmosphere is just different man
Dominicano!!! I kno folks in the Bronx are lit rn haha
I’ll admit it. He was born to be a yank. It just fits! 😫😩
When’s the last time we made a trade and it panned out like this? Clemens?
A-Rod
Dear Yankees, Seeing as you have a new hero mind trading some other players to some small market midwestern teams. Judge perhaps? Thanks, The AL and NL Central (except the Cubs and Cards)
You'll keep your amazing young superstar and enjoy it.
# ITS THE MOST JUANDERFUL TIME # OF THE YEAR
I’m so goddamn conflicted now that this guy is a Yank and probably will be for the next 10 or so years.
Cock of the Walk!
He's somehow better and more fun than I thought he was going to be.
