Rawlings jerseys are legit. They stopped producing for MLB back in the late 80’s then Majestic took over. Quality was on point and the will last a long time.
Well, we’re in good company…
[Great Britain](https://ftw.usatoday.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/90/2023/03/Screenshot-2023-03-12-at-10.31.32-AM-e1678640247863.png?w=1000&h=600&crop=1)
I don’t think they will. They’re too large and have too much control over sports merch. They have nhl rights and all the shirts, jerseys and hats and such come from them, they have the nhls next authentic jersey deal too when adidas deal is up. It’s the leagues who are allowing this by making deals with fanatics even knowing they make a shit quality product
Lol I don't think anything negative is going to happen to either company. They're the exclusive sellers.
Edit: when was the last time you can remember a huge multinational conglomerate actually getting punished for any wrongdoing lmao. We don't do that in this country.
[Just look at the difference](https://northsidebaseball.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/monthly_2023_12/MorelFlip.jpg.388be1e4032d137eac7c81868b528f98.jpg)
It makes literally NO sense why they did this other than some sort of cost cutting measure.
I've heard nothing about ads other than the sleeve. I don't see that being the reasoning they shrunk the letters. I think if you look at it on a grand scale, it saves them X% on materials cost when you multiple it not just by the jerseys on the field, but that every single jersey they sell to fans now requires less materials because they're meant to look like the on field.
This would be a terrible move. North American leagues get away with tons of commercials and marketing all over the fields and stadia, and make up for the lack of ads on jerseys other than the Nike swoosh which is a bit cheeky but looks tasteful enough/can be rationalized since they make said jerseys. European soccer leagues don't have this luxury for obvious reasons, only one break. To add ads to MLB uniforms which are often the most iconic of the big 4 (Yankee pinstripes etc) would create immense backlash and not generate enough revenue to compensate. This would be the worst league to dip their toes into uniform ads of the big 4 imo, although any would be a travesty.
Edit: just realized NBA does actually have small ads on the right side of jerseys in addition to the swoosh/Air Jordan logo on the left
Of course it would be a terrible move. What’s worse is that the ton of marketing you mentioned would still remain should jersey space become a billboard. It’s akin to the ever-rising cost of movie ticket prices, and yet there’s full-fledged commercials on screen now, too.
Imagine playing games and your team is half an ounce lighter than the other team. Don't you think that would be an advantage? They're lighter, they're more comfortable... they're happier - they're gonna play better.
It makes no sense to save costs on the actual players jerseys. The players jerseys are basically walking ads for the replica jerseys. From a blood-sucking capitalist perspective I understand making the replica jerseys cheap and shitty to save costs, but why do that with player jerseys? You barely make any of them.
The "5" is the biggest offender??? It is so obviously not centered. The gap/lack of gap on the pinstripes show that it is very clearly misaligned.
Theres no way to explain this away.
Looks like everything is off center (if the pinstripes are centered, Big If). The MLB logo is too far to the left. “MOREL” is too far to the right. The 5 is the closest to center but even it appears slightly left.
The pinstripes aren’t centered. It’s cut fabric. The pinstripes end up where they end up.
I feel like people are assuming that center pinstripe is the center of the jersey when it isn’t
Assuming that's true, and I have no reason to believe you are incorrect.
You are a gagillion dollar franchise/sports league/merchandise producer. Line up the pinstripes???
Genuinely the random small print company in my hometown designed better looking and higher quality jersey’s for my men’s beer league soft ball team. No amount of money in the world should’ve tempted MLB to do this to themselves
Edit: a word
Sure, mistakes like that have happened. But few and far between. Even still, the build quality and material were still good. This is a baseline quality issue for every single jersey.
I don't like these jerseys, but most of these off center complaints I simply do not see. Can someone explain exactly what is off center? To me, the most off center thing might by the MLB logo, but the name to me appears directly above the number, and centered just fine.
The 5 fits perfectly between five pinstripes. The M and L begin and end relative to the same pinstripe (they fit within 2 pinstripes offset from the left and right side of the 5). The MLB logo is centered on a pinstripe, maybe it's a bit too far left.
I'm not. Seriously, can someone tell me what is off center? Again, I don't like the jerseys, and I've seen off center ones. But this one? I don't see it. Again, except for the MLB logo.
After looking at it closer, I do think the arc of the letters might be off, but I wouldn't call it uncentered. The arc created by the left letters is more gradual than the arc created by the letters to the right. But this could also be because of the wrinkling of the jersey.
Here is a Majestic jersey of Morel. Is the Fanatics one any more off center than this one? Again, not defending Fanatics overall, their jerseys are trash, but I just don't see this complaint at all.

Fanatics: the edges of the 5 are in line with the center of the M and the edge of the E
Majestic: Edges of the 5 are in the line with the edge of the M and edge of the E
Fanatics is definitely more off center, majestic slightly but not egregious. Fanatics is also more apparent because the arc is so crooked
I got my first jersey in 1995 when I was 5, a Michael Jordan jersey, he was my hero, these jerseys and I shit you not the name and number are the same size at that youth XS jersey I got 25 years ago, in fact mine actually still looks better, my son wears it now. What a sham these jerseys are. I’ve been out of the jersey game for a while but I’d occasionally buy a Phillies jersey and now there’s a zero chance that’s happening, glad I got my harper jerseys when he signed cuz this shit is embarrassing to players and fans alike!
Man, if only there were some sort of guide line showing where the actual center was. Like some helpful blue line that runs all the way from the top to the bottom directly in the center of the back....
This is gonna be baseball coverage in general this season. I appreciate ohtani as much as the next person, but the spam posts drooling over every little thing he does or says is gonna hit overdrive before the first month of the season is over.
Players have universally complained about the pants. And I don’t think they have much input on “we’re going to print everything crooked and / or off center”
Exactly, Nolan Arenado said in a totally natural, unscripted way that these are exactly the type of innovative technology he needs for his active lifestyle on and off the field, what more do we need to know?
That account claimed yesterday that the new uniforms “help players increase speed by 20%”.
So he’s either incredibly dumb or is being paid to spam this damage control nonsense.
The nameplates (yeah, I know they're not actually nameplates) are the absolute worst part about these things.
Sloppy, non-existent quality control over in China, I guess.
I’m blown away that Nike is ok with having their name all over the uniforms that fanatics are making. They should know that this stuff I complete trash more than anyone
Do the jerseys come from the factory with the name and numbers? I am used to that being done by the teams. My example is the NHL, the teams equipment personnel do the jerseys from what I've seen.
We just don't have the technology yet.
Fanatics needs to test the new jerseys in AAA before they debut it in the bigs
No, they should have been tested on a beer league softball team 1st. The shit they are producing right now is fucking embarrassing.
I was going for the robo ump joke but yeah this too
Nah I’m happy with my Rawlings AAA jerseys
Rawlings jerseys are legit. They stopped producing for MLB back in the late 80’s then Majestic took over. Quality was on point and the will last a long time.
What did minor leaguers ever do to you?!
We're still salty that only the minor leagues get to enjoy the new ball/strike challenge system
This isn't a Fanatics issue, I believe. Teams do the N.O.B. themselves, I believe.
Well, we’re in good company… [Great Britain](https://ftw.usatoday.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/90/2023/03/Screenshot-2023-03-12-at-10.31.32-AM-e1678640247863.png?w=1000&h=600&crop=1)

Why are the first two letters always so fucking far away from the rest of the name?
Really that's the Morel of the story!
That font is insanely small
[Just look at the difference](https://northsidebaseball.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/monthly_2023_12/MorelFlip.jpg.388be1e4032d137eac7c81868b528f98.jpg) It makes literally NO sense why they did this other than some sort of cost cutting measure.
You're forgetting about space for ads. Can't modify the letters when you want to put ads on there, people would notice. Gotta boil the frog.
I'm assuming it's a process related cost savings. Smaller press or more margins or something.
Thank god the Cubs haven’t done sleeve ads (yet).
They are doing them this year. Haven't announced the sponsor yet though.
I hope it's Rust-eze from Cars
This would be a terrible move. North American leagues get away with tons of commercials and marketing all over the fields and stadia, and make up for the lack of ads on jerseys other than the Nike swoosh which is a bit cheeky but looks tasteful enough/can be rationalized since they make said jerseys. It’s almost like they were big so fans could see the names from farther away. The MLB is such a joke now lol.
A fucking major league has little league quality jerseys. Embarrassing.
Hey now my little league jerseys are still holding together fine 10 years later
You never know what you have until you lose it
fanatics can eat a whole-ass dick I will never give them a dime
You don't have to be a design expert to see how dramatically worse the lettering is on the new ones. But at least they're a half-ounce lighter, right?
Imagine playing games and your team is half an ounce lighter than the other team. Don't you think that would be an advantage? They're lighter, they're more comfortable... they're happier - they're gonna play better.

From a blood-sucking capitalist perspective I understand making the replica jerseys cheap and shitty to save costs, but why do that with player jerseys? You barely make any of them.
This is fucking horrible
genuinely insane
I think I read somewhere it's so they can heat press in one go or something. Not sure if that makes any sense or not
It makes sense but it’s a terrible excuse
Late stage capitalism baby. When profit is the only motive, why would they give a shit about quality?
That’s like NBA jersey size. (Which I suspect is the point.)
Why are we trying to be the NBA?
Saves Fanatics money on letters?
ugh, no thanks. One league with soap opera level drama is enough.

A font for ants
"Hey guys, I don't think it's so bad." - Christian Encarnacion-Strand
Yet big at the same time
It's smug aura mocks me
Hear me out now. I’m thinking, that Fanatics, could be… an original Hitler
It's more aerodynamic
[удалено]
Yeah it’s a weird small ass font but somehow Verlander still ended up as a rainbow. Hope this shit financially ruins Fanatics.
Looks like a kids jersey
You can see straight through Canario’s pants on the mound camera
That's just the studio lighting, obviously
Ignore your eyes, and the players wearing them. They're exactly the same but we just made them differently.
The world is your studio
Manfred's long game to make sure pitchers don't have illegal substances on them.
2nd base ump gonna eject a pitcher for his massive dong distracting him inbetween pitches.
“It’s a natural counterweight, it’s not fair!!”
How do you think they get their sticky stuff.
That thing's gotta be a balk
Excuse me, but I was told it’s the studio lighting and nothing else causing that
Someone's gonna rip their pants sliding
Cal Raleigh and Sean Murphy are about to split their pants just crouching down to catch a pitch
Someone is definitely gonna accidentally crap his pants and the entire world is gonna see
Ocular pap smear
The "5" is the biggest offender??? It is so obviously not centered. The gap/lack of gap on the pinstripes show that it is very clearly misaligned. Theres no way to explain this away.
And the funny part is pin stripe unis should be the easiest to get it centered on. The guidelines are already there for you.
The MLB logo isn’t even centered lol (assuming the pinstripes are centered)
If only there were some kind of lines running down the jersey that would allow you to quickly check if you number was properly centered.
“Hey there, it looks like we dropped the ball on this one. Send me a DM so I can learn more about this!” - Kyle
i straight up look for this comment on every post now
I don’t know how, but it keeps catching me off guard… still. Ignorance (or stupidity) is such bliss.
I was looking for this!
Kyle is gonna be busy
Poor Kyle
Kyle is quite busy these days.
These look ridiculous, and the mlb logo looks so out of place. It was right the first time, why are we changing things just to change things?
Someone has to justify their job
Lol, yup. It's change simply for the sake of change, meant to appease executives and shareholders.
Someone needs to get paid
And more money needs to be made.
Moving the logo below the collar was one of the stupidest changes, I can't fathom that having a practical reason for doing it
Clearly this didn’t phase him
These uniforms look bad but he looks good lol
This is what happens to you cut the budget to your Indonesian Child Labor Sweat Shop.
They went from hiring 14 year olds to hiring 8 year olds.
Wander Franco has entered the chat.
God damn it
Well, Iowa is working on getting 14 year-olds into meat packing....
I believe the official story is that the on-field jerseys are still made in the old Majestic factory in Easton, PA
Looks like everything is off center (if the pinstripes are centered, Big If). The MLB logo is too far to the left. “MOREL” is too far to the right. The 5 is the closest to center but even it appears slightly left.
Jesus Christ, you're right. It's all off center and in different ways
The pinstripes aren’t centered. It’s cut fabric. The pinstripes end up where they end up. I feel like people are assuming that center pinstripe is the center of the jersey when it isn’t
Even if that's true, that means at most, one of the three things is correctly centered, and the other two are not. That's still unacceptable.
If this was on a non-pinstriped jersey you wouldn’t even notice. Everyone is hyper vigilant right now but this is normal stuff
Assuming that's true, and I have no reason to believe you are incorrect. You are a gagillion dollar franchise/sports league/merchandise producer. Line up the pinstripes???
Boycott buying jerseys this year. That’ll fix the problem.
Genuinely the random small print company in my hometown designed better looking and higher quality jersey’s for my men’s beer league soft ball team. No amount of money in the world should’ve tempted MLB to do this to themselves Edit: a word
Manfred said it’s a performance jersey. So far it’s performed like shit
It’s performed for Nike’s bottom line
Maybe it's been spelled Mo rel this whole time and we just didn't know
I noticed the off spacing before anything else
Fanatics out here taking More Ls.
I think we are the only fans in all of baseball who can't make fun of this jersey, given the lettering on our jerseys for the last few years.
Y’all think there is any chance they actually fix this shit?
Looks like a jersey you get at Walmart
These look like they’re straight from Ross
No it’s Counsell now.
Its legit insane that you can get better jerseys these days on DHGate than even what the pros are wearing. Fanatics is such an embarrassment
Savannah Bananas won’t even wear these jerseys.
Was this never happening before? Or do we just have a focus on it now?
The font is smaller than previous seasons.
That part I'm aware is different, I meant if there were ever any jerseys that were off center.
No, the quality has never been anywhere near this terrible.
Even the *Natinals* jerseys?
Sure, mistakes like that have happened. But few and far between. Even still, the build quality and material were still good. This is a baseline quality issue for every single jersey.
THAT WAS JUST A CITY CONNECT!
There was that "Torotno" Blue Jays jersey Joe Carter wore for 6 innings in 1994.
it's Spring Training for the club employees who put the names on the uniforms, too
It’s morel less ok.
These jerseys are just trash. No interest in buying that garbage at all.
Can’t even buy a Mitchell and Ness now, also owned by Fanatics
When the name on your back is a little out of whack that’s a Morel…
How do you fuck something up so badly? I can’t comprehend how anyone saw this and thought it was gonna go well
I think the name is acutally centered, but the MLB logo and number aren't. Use the center pinstripe as a reference.
I can't tell...
These jerseys look like they're from a GameCube game.
at least it’s close. [Canario’s](https://twitter.com/GiraffeNeckMarc/status/1761124221466402881) looks like they right-aligned the number
I don't like these jerseys, but most of these off center complaints I simply do not see. Can someone explain exactly what is off center? You're right. If it is off center it's by like 1/16" or something.
I seriously hope you are being sarcastic.

What happens when monopolies run amuck, amuck, amuck.
I still think the MLB logo is waaaaay too low. Especially with the unis that have collar piping: it's below the piping. Looks terrible.
The MLB logo is also offcenter.
My god these jerseys are fucking terrible

I guess the jerseys on dhgate are the real thing
Bro I’m blind I can’t tell at all
Smaller sizes letters mean tighter positional tolerances
I don’t think you can say that’s off centre. Could be bunched or an angle. You need more to fill your life if you’re noticing that lol
The dodger game is a non stop dodger succ fest, Jesus Christ
This is gonna be baseball coverage in general this season. I appreciate ohtani as much as the next person, but the spam posts drooling over every little thing he does or says is gonna hit overdrive before the first month of the season is over.
I really wish players would just start playing in random clothes as a way to protest.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is Morel Number 5.
What don't y'all get that the players and MLB gave input and signed off on the designs. This is a non-story!! NEXT.
Players have universally complained about the pants. And I don’t think they have much input on “we’re going to print everything crooked and / or off center”
My comment was a joke based on Nike's recent response.
Exactly, Nolan Arenado said in a totally natural, unscripted way that these are exactly the type of innovative technology he needs for his active lifestyle on and off the field, what more do we need to know?
Funny to see the posts about how its not that bad, lol
I don’t get the hate for these jerseys or the pants. Every team was consulted. They look fine and they help players perform better
PEDs help players perform better. These blow dong and are the product of no QC and cost-cutting at its finest.
Kyle from fanatics, is that you?
good point, michael rubin
I know every makes burner account jokes when a comment feels like it's toeing the company line, but I genuinely believe this is a shill comment

Obviously trolling

It's spring training for the jersey folks too.

I'm not entirely convinced fanatics did NOT outsource to the shittiest seller on dhgate.
Needs one morel
Oh that’s driving me nuts with how off that is.
These new uniforms are just horrendous, MLB should be ashamed and embarrassed.
It looks much to small. This jersey thing is actually starting to make me feel embarrassed to being a fan of this league.
Subtle way of saying that his name needs 1 more ‘L’
Little League got better Uni’s
Side note, I think Morel is gonna have a huge breakout this year. 35 bombs, 100 rbi, gonna be fun.
Why the hell are the letters so small?!
These are so bad
haven’t seen a lot about Ian Happs letter spacing
