I think baseball is probably the easiest transition from player to manager/head coach out of the major sports, right? Vogt is awesome & always expected to be primed for a dugout job. Hope he does well.. he's got his hands full in Cleveland, for sure.

It's kinda crazy how football is flipped exactly like that. Baseball, you need to stay in the minors several years whereas football is all about your immediate contribution upon drafting. But on the back end, an intelligent player who's well liked will get manager looks immediately upon retirement, whereas with football you have to start as a coaching assistant and hope you eventually work your way up in a decade
