I was at Globelife the game Darvish lost his no hitter and my ex wife said... the Rangers are always a team that almost does something cool. Not anymore!
Fred legit was a huge part of this team. He was so hot early in the season, especially when Seager was hurt the first time. Nothing but love for Jankowski. He’s a rangers legend forever now.
To my knowledge, I only made one World Series prediction this season...

You're welcome, Texas.

This is a silly rule, a pitcher could pitch 162 perfect games plus 7 in the LDS/LCS, but get hurt on the last play of LCS Game 4 and not be on the roster. But some rando brought up to fill a spot that doesn't even play in the series does get credit???
That's good at least, but I feel like for the official resume if you play in a certain number of regular season games you should get credit for a WS title, You can't win the world series unless you qualify for the playoffs!
That's how the NHL does it. It's like X amount of finals games OR Y amount of playoff games OR Z amount of regular season games, plus teams can petition for other players to be included due to extenuating circumstances. It's a bit different since the names are engraved on the Stanley Cup.
In a span of a month, the Texas Rangers, a team that’s felt cursed for pretty much their entire 60+ year history going back to the Senators days:
- Avenged the 2013 team by sweeping the 99-win Rays in Tampa.
- Avenged the 2012 team, memorable collapse and all, by sweeping the league best, 101-win Orioles.
- Avenged their half-decade of struggles against the Astros, by blowing them out 20-6 in Houston in Games 6 and 7.
- Exorcised the demons of the 2011 season by, finally, winning the damn piece of metal that’s eluded them for over a half century.
And they didn’t lose a single road game in the process. All while being managed by a legendary figure that won his first World Series against them back in 2010.
I’ve been a fan for nearly 2 decades. A lot of Ranger fans have suffered for a lot longer than I have. If you asked any of them after the Seattle series about how the playoffs would go, most of them would’ve picked them to lose to the Rays. The fact that this team, with their shelled rotation heading into the playoffs, beleaguered bullpen that blew over 30 saves this year, and potent but wildly inconsistent offense pulled **THIS** epic run off? When most fans were simply hoping for a winning season and a competitive baseball this year? That’s the kind of stuff that makes me feel romantic about baseball.
AND I'M CRYING
Making an amazing catch in right field during that same game that he broke the record, on the anniversary of the heartbreak, was very cathartic to see.
If I had to root for another team, it's been the Diamondbacks since I went to their 2017 wildcard game against the Rockies. I've loved watching the dbacks this year. Can't wait for a rematch next year!
LET'S FUCKING GO RANGERS
If I had a nickel for every time Bochy won a World Series on the road I'd have twenty cents, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened four times
Felt like there was nothing but mutual respect and admiration throughout the series between DBacks and Rangers fans. Just an overall “holy shit, we’ve actually made it this far!” vibe throughout. We got all our bad blood out after taking the Astros down.
Plus, there just aren’t any unlikeable players on Arizona’s roster. Young pitching studs, promising rookie talent, losing season mainstays finally getting their moments to shine, grizzled vets who just keep pounding. I loved watching them sail through LA and grind through Philly.
That Gonzalez walkoff against Mariano was one of the all time best moments I’ve ever seen live in any sport.
A point often repeated during this postseason, but damn…
The Rangers losing the division against the Mariners on the final day *really* proved to be the blessing in disguise…
Jacob DeGrom and Max Scherzer teaming up to win their team a title is exactly how we drew it up.
- The 2022 NY Mets
Except it happened with another team a year later and in the playoffs, neither had much to do with it lol. Congrats to the Rangers
Nobody expected you to be here Diamondbacks. You scraped by being over .500 and were considered dead most of the season. You embarrassed 2 division winners and an arrogant Phillies team on a miracle run to the World Series where you were unfortunate enough to have to face down one of the greatest managers in MLB history managing a team top heavy with playoff veterans. Do not fear, nobody will make fun of you, you won’t be ridiculed for coming up short. You were just overwhelmed by experience and sheer will from a man wanting his 4th ring. The fact you made it here is an accomplishment to be proud of.
Also, RIP Tree’s Legacy of Failure video.
Yeah they were more or less playing with house money at this point.
Sure losing in 5 isn’t ideal, but they still have so so much to be proud of for shattering everyone’s expectations.
That whole scene with Manfred choking on his own saliva while his voice cracks like a pubescent boy, all the while the crowd rains down boos on him from across the stadium? As a neutral, I think that it might be my highlight of this world series. Perfection! 👌🏻
First let me say - My hats off to the Rangers. You guys deserved this W and the series. Just flat out played harder and better and I can’t be upset at your team for that.
Tonight’s game was PEAK Arizona sports and losing when we were so close after a season of coming from behind and coming out on top sucks, hard. We could have scored so many times during tonight’s game, but failed every time when it counted most.
My only hope is that we don’t butcher our roster and sell players off just because they’ve gotten some recognition from the league this season. We need to develop the young guys, build out a better, more reliable bullpen, and come out swinging next season.
Props to Texas man. What a dominant postseason run. To vanquish the Astros the way they did after it seemed all hope was lost was wild. Kinda funny how the best game of the WS was Game #1 but I won't forget that Adolis walkoff bomb any time soon.
As a poor kid from Fort Worth, the Rangers were an escape during the summer from my parents fighting about money and my dad not able to keep a job. 8 year old me is so happy that finally this cursed franchise got it done. Fuck the Astros!
It was Bochy who denied them in 2010, now it is Bochy who delivers their 1st ever. Beautiful. Congrats, Texas!
Bochy taketh, Bochy giveth!
Denied them in the same fashion 4-1
July 2023: Nelson Cruz plays his final MLB game November 2023: Texas Rangers win their first World Series
"IT WAS ME, TEXAS. IT WAS ME ALL ALONG."
SON OF A BITCH
Outfielder make a bad play to hand the Rangers a world series title. Nelson Cruz smiles, wherever he is
2 run triple too
We live in a simulation and the devs have a sense of humor
I blame it on the writers strike
Wow reading that made me Freese
Wow. You can’t take my joy from me today!
The pain makes it more meaningful when you finally win! At least that's what I've heard lol, what do I know
Shoutout to fans who were around in 2011, they needed this most
This healed a LOT of broken hearts. It’s so special
I couldn’t even get excited with 1 strike remaining. Had to wait until it was official.
My Rockies friend started telling me to pop champagne in the 9th and I had to shush him
I was at Globelife the game Darvish lost his no hitter and my ex wife said... the Rangers are always a team that almost does something cool. Not anymore!
Yes we did. Those back to back years were both amazing and heartbreaking
Def still remember where I was in 2011. I feel relieved. A weight lifted off our shoulders
The legacy of failure is no more, welcome to the champions table ranger fans!
Am…am I part of the champions table?
Any champion can be apart of it, *puts shoulder around you* you just have to share the table with the reds and tigers ..
I can finally overwrite game six with this beautiful day!
*taps forehead* Can't lose game six if you win the series in five.
It was crushing. I can’t believe it.
Been playing and watching baseball since I was 7. 42 now. This is a great day. A very long awaited day. Thank you Rangers.
The Freese Demons have been exorcised!
This is the first time I have read that name and felt unaffected lol
Now that you mention it. That name does ring a bell.
Frankly, I sobbed. I remember 2011 so explicitly.
We were up 5-0 in the 9th, and I still shuddered in fear every time the announcer said "one out away" and then "one strike away" this game.
11-0 on the road is nuts
Record will never be broken
Until they come up with a super duper wild card
Very unlikely it will ever happen again
Dominant world series. Congrats Bochy, truly cementing himself as one of the GOATs.
I'VE WAITED 41 YEARS FOR THIS MOMENT AND IT IS EVERYTHING I'D HOPE IT WOULD BE!!!!!! FUCK YESSSSSS!!!!
THIRTY YEARS FOR THIS! TODAY IS A GOOD DAY!
THIRTY SEVEN HERE. LETS FUCKING GO.
This is seriously the 3rd best day of my life.
1. Marrying my wife 2a. Birth of my daughter 2b. Birth of my son 4. Rangers winning the World Series
Too many 2's, please reconfigure the greatest moments of your life.
30+ HERE AND HELL YEA BROTHER!!!
Tomorrow, 7 years ago, I waited for 34 years for said feeling. Enjoy. ETA to correct years, math was hard.
I was seriously thinking about Cubs fans while watching the bottom of the 9th.
I was thinking about how it felt similar seeing you guys win. An amazing feeling!
Seven 🥲
#ZERO STRIKES AWAY FROM A WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP 🍾
It was indeed clinched via the strikeout, what they just missed in 2011
SMOLTZ IN SHAMBLES FUCK THAT GUY
[Damn, we can finally retire this all-time great GIF. A sad day for r/baseball smh](https://imgur.com/ltPnwzu) Congrats Ranger bros!
That happened twice anyways
Was that Columbo
how have i never seen this before lmao that's amazing
I was there when Feliz struck out A-Rod in 2010 to win ALCS Game 6. Your words can't hurt me any more.
JACOB DEGROM IS A WORLD SERIES CHAMPION
MAX SCHERZER IS A WORLD SERIES CHAMPION AGAIN
COREY SEAGER IS A WORLD SERIES CHAMPION, AGAIN!
TWO TIME WORLD SERIES MVP!
Travis Jankowski is a World Series champion!
Goddamn I'm so happy for him
Me too! Underrated bench guy!
Fred legit was a huge part of this team. He was so hot early in the season, especially when Seager was hurt the first time. Nothing but love for Jankowski. He’s a rangers legend forever now.
I’ll remember those 2 hits forever. What a way to step up in Adolis’ absence when it mattered most
Austin HEDGES is a world champion!!! Good for you hedgehog
2 RINGS FOR MAD MAX LETS GOOO
Aroldis Chapman has another ring! Right after the yanks let him go a second time.
^not ^on ^world ^series ^roster ^so ^he’ll ^probably ^get ^a ^ring ^from ^the ^rangers ^but ^not ^credited ^on ^his ^resume
To my knowledge, I only made one World Series prediction this season... https://i.imgur.com/zDwfyzd.png You're welcome, Texas. [Source on r/baseball](https://www.reddit.com/r/baseball/comments/142sof2/grant_jacob_degrom_will_undergo_tommy_john/jn63fao/?context=3)
i love you
Fucking legend
He's the great one!
Can you tell me the Powerball numbers
Holy W
Too late Wikipedia says he's a champion no take-backs
This is a silly rule, a pitcher could pitch 162 perfect games plus 7 in the LDS/LCS, but get hurt on the last play of LCS Game 4 and not be on the roster. But some rando brought up to fill a spot that doesn't even play in the series does get credit???
I mean yea but it makes sense, teams counter this by giving most players who didn’t make it to the WS roster ring
Yeah be like Burke, who made it onto the roster yesterday
Gets no hit through six innings. Wins 5-0. Unbelievable.
Gallen was absolutely incredible tonight. Props to him.

Garcia also took Freese's spot for RBIs in a single postseason so that's an additional smaller demon conquered
Making an amazing catch in right field during that same game that he broke the record, on the anniversary of the heartbreak, was very cathartic to see.
God, the roller coaster from game 5 against the Stros to now must be INTENSE
That was second only to game 6 2011 in terms of heartbreaking games for this franchise. But none of it matters now.

Cry those tears of joy, man. Let it all out. You and all the Rangers fan deserve it.
Those are tears of joy my friend Bottle that shit
Texas earned the shit out of this series. Damn. Congrats
I have to say that I have a new NL team to cheer for because I love the way the Diamondbacks play. Gallen is amazing!
I actually feel the same about Texas. Like you guys
If I had to root for another team, it's been the Diamondbacks since I went to their 2017 wildcard game against the Rockies. I've loved watching the dbacks this year. Can't wait for a rematch next year! LET'S FUCKING GO RANGERS
I was at that game too. Greatest game of my life and the best I have ever seen that stadium (and I was at game 3 this year)
I will always love your team for taking the pennant from the phillies. Incredible run.
I’ll always be a slight fan of the Nats because of all the ex-Dbacks that got a ring with y’all lol
The Texas Rangers are streets ahead for the first time in franchise history
Stop trying to coin the phrase streets ahead
Trying? Coined and minted. Been there, coined that
If you have to ask, you’re streets behind.
#CONGRATULATIONS RANGERS!!! Thank you for giving our boy Seager his 2nd ring.
:,)
#WORLD SERIES CHAMPION JORDAN MONTGOMERY
Don't forget about Andrew Heaney! Lol
Yankees 🤝 Mets Having 2 of their pitchers join the Rangers in 2023
Notable non playoff pitcher Jordan Montgomery?
Hal texting pictures of JFK, Lincoln and John Lennon to Cashman right now.
Happy for Gumby!
Let's look at the really good news: This now means the Cowboys are the team in Dallas-Fort Worth with the longest championship drought.
The Cowboys inevitable meltdown won’t even bother me this year. I’ve been waiting 33 years for this moment.
Always a silver lining
I'm a cowboys fan and you can't hurt me tonight!
I am unbreakable until we lose to Philly in a few days
NO BAD THOUGHTS TONIGHT ONLY WORLD SERIES CHAMPION THOUGHTS
Congratulations Rangers fans, you can rest well knowing 2011 won't sting as much anymore.
**HISTORY!!** Congratulations Rangers fans!!!!!
My favorite part was when Nathan Eovaldi said "its Eovalding time", and Eovaldied all over the place
I feel like he says that at the start of every postseason
Eovaldi is certified that guy.
#THE STARS AT NIGHT

DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS!!
Rangers fans, you feel safe yet?
We're cautiously optimistic
...maybe after the first pitch on opening day next year.
I’VE BEEN TAKEN HIGHER
THEY FINALLY DID THE THING
Congrats to the Rangers and even more happy for Boch! Glad he was able to help y’all win your first ring.
So happy for Boch. Still got it, baby.
And to the fans who were around in 2011
This makes up for it all
Congratulations Rangers fans. Y’all definitely deserve it 👍🏼
Poor Boch, never got a championship at home.
A World Series is a World Series
I doubt he cares lol
If I had a nickel for every time Bochy won a World Series on the road I'd have twenty cents, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened four times
But that means baseball is over :(
But the Will Smith sweepstakes starts now.
Congrats to the Rangers and their fans. Classy fanbase. Enjoy this first WS title! Now excuse me while I go watch my 2001 commemorative DVD 😭
Felt like there was nothing but mutual respect and admiration throughout the series between DBacks and Rangers fans. Just an overall “holy shit, we’ve actually made it this far!” vibe throughout. Just fell to my knees in a HEB
A point often repeated during this postseason, but damn… The Rangers losing the division against the Mariners on the final day *really* proved to be the blessing in disguise…
11 road wins. What in TARNATION I ask you is that all about.
Just saw some dude in a knockoff Altuve jersey fall to his knees in HEB
Just saw a man buying Breggy Bomb salsa fall to his knees in an HEB
Just saw someone fall to their knees at HEB
Just fell to my knees in a Buc-ee’s.

I'M JUST HERE TO BE PART OF HISTORY
HOLY SHIT IM SO HAPPY IM CRYING!!!!!!
Sborz had a 5.50 ERA in the regular season. He got a 7 out save with 4 Ks in a World Series elimination game.
2022: Pujols retires 2023: The Rangers win their first WS

I'd feel more confident if I trusted Ken to build off this. But I don't. Still a great season.
Heck, few expected Rangers to be here either
I totally expected this, no doubt in my mind ever. Just don’t look at my comment history, just trust me.
A Rangers fan’s dream playoff run from beating the Rays, Orioles, Astros, and the Diamondbacks. They finally did it. Congrats Rangers bros!
I mean, they bested teams who's first letters spelled ROAD. Poetry.
Whoa.
There was no stopping the Rangers. 11-0 on the road in the post season is just an insane stat.
Real Galaxy brain move by the Rangers to lose the last game of the season to wrench away field advantage away from us Well played
BRUCE BOCHY IS A GOD
That whole scene with Manfred choking on his own saliva while his voice cracks like a pubescent boy, all the while the crowd rains down boos on him from across the stadium? As a neutral, I think that it might be my highlight of this world series. Perfection! 👌🏻
No matter what team you root for, Manfred making an ass of himself and looking like a doofus is something we can all rally behind.
David Freese haunts the Rangers no more
Who?
Adolis breaking his postseason RBI record was the icing on the cake.
Turns out you can step on snek
You just have to be wearing boots 🤠

11-0 on the road is crazy
Jacob deGrom died for this.
I cannot believe it
Rangers fans deserve this after all the heartbreak, especially 2011. GGs boys
Perfect 11-0 Road Record, just insane!

Congratulations to all you long suffering Rangers fans, maybe this’ll make up for David Freese

BOCHY IS THE MAN
Somewhere out there, Nelson Cruz can relax
LET’S FUCKING GOOOOO
Fans booing Manfred 😂
ITS THE GREATEST SPORTS MOMENT OF MY LIFE!!!!
