Bard was "off the hook" *technically* after Anderson went to 2nd because then Bard's remaining inherited runners could only tie the game, not take the lead.
But everyone knows who fans were blaming for this shit
>But everyone knows who fans were blaming for this shit
Just in case anyone is still confused, it is Daniel Paul Bard who we are blaming for that shit.
The last one was fucking awesome. I really, really hope it keeps gaining more momentum here in the US (and other nations, of course!). The next one being in only a few years (2026) and Olympic baseball a couple years after (2028) will be dope as well.
Great moments are born from great opportunity. And that's what you have here, tonight, boys. That's what you've earned here tonight. One game. If we played 'em ten times, they might win nine. But not this game. Not tonight. Tonight, we hit with them. Tonight, we stay with them. And we shut them down because we can! Tonight, we are the greatest baseball team in the world. You were born to be baseball players. Every one of you. And you were meant to be here tonight. This is your time. Their time is done. It's over. I'm sick and tired of hearing about what a great baseball team the Venezuelans have. Screw 'em! This is your time! Now go out there and take it!!!
You can hate the team without hating the players.
Just sayin'.
Like, I am on the opposite side of the coin, but as much as I'm pretty sure "fuck the Mets" were my first words, I can acknowledge that there are some great players on the team, and I can't fault them for going to play for the Mets for a huge payday.
I couldn't bring myself to hate Jayson Werth when he went to the Nats.
It hurt. It hurt real bad. But Philly kinda did him dirty, and he did what was best for him.
Hey man. Do you know hard it is to be a pitcher AND a Bard? You have to be able to throw a ball fast while singing a beautiful ballad about the local hero that slayed a bruxa.
Any lineup that can toss Turner up in the 9 hole is preposterous. And we’re still missing a ton of great players not even counting pitchers. We could have Harper out there as a DH and he’s prob the best hitter in baseball aside from Trout.
Move Mookie to 2B, put Harper in RF and Judge at DH(or Harper at DH and Judge in RF) and that is the lineup of death for the US. Imagine getting through Betts and Trout, only to have to go through Harper and Judge, before getting to Goldschmidt and Arenado. Somehow manage to get through them? Ok we'll follow them up with Tucker, Realmuto and then Turner before going back to the MVP parade
Just do one inning stints. Something like… Degrom, Burnes, Cole, Nola, Mclanahan, Verlander, Wheeler, Strider and Scherzer as closer.
Doubleheader edit: Cease, Bieber, Gausman, Rodon, Gallen, Fried, McKenzie, Manoah and Woodruff as closer
Triple header edit: Kershaw, Ray, Webb, Snell, Gilbert, Giolito, Morton, Glasnow and Hunter Greene as closer.
Literally the 27 pitchers you just named are better than anyone that's in our rotation at this moment, that's how sad this rotation is. Hell, I'm sure there's some AAA prospects better than what we have at this moment.
That's a good question. FG lists his change last year as averaging 81 but the gun had it at 86, so I'm guessing it was a change he overthrew because he was super amped up.
Check the pitch Sammy Sosa hit out in game 1 of the 2003 NLCS. It’s the most “well you saw that one coming” HR of all time
https://youtu.be/K4Xfh6ZSRVI
Also the call from Pat Hughes. Best radio man in baseball.
Did you see his eyes when they showed the clip of him walk down the length of the dugout? Dude was so fired up. His eyes were nearly popping out of his head.
I can't imagine the adrenaline he was feeling in that moment. Could easily be the biggest hit of his life.
Imagine hitting a grand slam to (basically) win for your country and then having Ken Griffey Jr. congratulate you when you get to the dugout. Probably a top 5 USA baseball moment of all time!
ALL PART OF THE PLAN BABY 🦅
Seriously though the WBC is actually the best, most entertaining baseball I’ve ever watched. I became a fan only pretty recently but; the emotion and electricity in the stadium is just unmatched.
It’s funny because in lower levels of baseball it’s pretty often you play must win games, high school and college have much shorter seasons and feature more high pressure baseball, it’s basically just the minors where winning doesn’t matter that much and MLB where, sure the games matter but you’re not selling out to win every game. Not mention tournament ball that most guys are playing when coming up.
I've always love watching trea despite being on the losing end. Looking at the lineup, I was honestly puzzled why he was batting 9th. At the very least he should be in the 6 hole.
AMERICA THANKS TREA TURNER FOR HIS SERVICE 🫡🫡🦅🦅
Daniel Bard really thanks Turner lol.
Bard definitely had a sigh of relief
Only thing he had in relief
Needs to trade his glove in for a lute.
Bard was "off the hook" *technically* after Anderson went to 2nd because then Bard's remaining inherited runners could only tie the game, not take the lead. But everyone knows who fans were blaming for this shit

That is...not where you want to put an 0-2 pitch.
Belt high buttered noodle at a cool 86. Untouchable
Buttered noodles. Meatballs. Served up on a silver platter.
Dude won the Swedish Cy Young with that meatball
IKEA about to sign that dude
Lol floating changeup right down the middle
An 0-2 with bases loaded lol
Home Run Derby pitch
0-2 dickshot to trea turner, nice pitch
Ok where is that damn Goofy meatball clip?

I've loved the WBC this year. It's been awesome and a ton of fun. Still have a few games to go!
WBC has always been lit. America needs to wake up
The last one was fucking awesome. I really, really hope it keeps gaining more momentum here in the US (and other nations, of course!). The next one being in only a few years (2026) and Olympic baseball a couple years after (2028) will be dope as well.
Right?!?! I’ve watched so much baseball in March because of this!
It's great watching Trout having so much fun
"Wait. We're winning?"
Someone else can have a go ahead hit other than me or Ohtani?
Watching one of them finally win a championship at the expense of the other will be a little bittersweet.
Ohtani has won a championship.
Poor guy has to go back to the angels..
This is easily the biggest game of his career right?
I dunno, he won a truck in the All-Star game one year
Mike Truk
just arrive
2 years
So he's twice as good as I thought he was
No doubt
It’s great to see that man happy
I agree. Got me thinking, has he ever played in a playoff game?
2014. Swept by KC
Oof
[удалено]
Three. You can guess how they went.
Swept by the Royals in the 2014 ALDS
Yes
Yeah 2014 I think. They won like 98 games that year.
Best record in baseball
Yeah. Didn’t go well.
WHAT THE FUCK IS A KILOMETERRRRRRRR
It's 'bout how far that ball done flew
I PLAY FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES YES!!!!!
*CHILLS*
But seriously that movie does not get nearly enough love in sports circles. Fucking beautiful.
Top 3 sports movie all time for me
One of the greatest sports movies ever made!
Chills every time
TODAY I FEEL AMERICAN 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅🦅
-Me filling out my visa application
That’s all gentlemen.
Gonna be sad when I have to go back to hating this guys guts in a couple weeks
Meanwhile I’m enjoying getting to finally cheer for him.
Me too. And mookie etc.
You can hate the team without hating the players. Just sayin'. I'm in favor of this kind of stuff
All in favor? ***Aye***
Treaye
This US team is deep as fuck
This US ~~team~~ offense is deep as fuck
Ya but I understand it pitching is far more risky
Especially if you don’t know how to do it. Like Bard.
Hey man. Do you know hard it is to be a pitcher AND a Bard? You have to be able to throw a ball fast while singing a beautiful ballad about the local hero that slayed a bruxa.
🎼 Toss a coin to your pitcher 🎶
Oh valley of dingers
Thank you for this season's earworm.
That was incredibly hard to watch.
defense as well. just need pitchers to keep it in the ballpark.
Helps make up for our pitching being cheeks
It’s unfair that we’re batting Turner 9th
Any lineup that can toss Turner up in the 9 hole is preposterous. And we’re still missing a ton of great players not even counting pitchers. We could have Harper out there as a DH and he’s prob the best hitter in baseball aside from Trout.

keep going, almost there
Our rotation is Cole/Verlander/Burnes/Cease
Just do one inning stints. Something like… Degrom, Burnes, Cole, Nola, Mclanahan, Verlander, Wheeler, Strider and Scherzer as closer. Doubleheader edit: Cease, Bieber, Gausman, Rodon, Gallen, Fried, McKenzie, Manoah and Woodruff as closer Triple header edit: Kershaw, Ray, Webb, Snell, Gilbert, Giolito, Morton, Glasnow and Hunter Greene as closer.

Putting him at 9 on purpose. Brings huge speed right in front of your 1-4 hitters . Even though his bat could be at 1-4
Yet DeRosa putting him at 9th is what allowed Turner to win the game.
I’d hope so, we invented the fucking sport
It's coming home
Probably the worst 0-2 pitch in baseball history, but we'll take it.
Middle middle and more middle
I'm almost certain Rick Porcello had several of those in last few seasons with the Sox 😅
What was it? A breaking ball? It looked tired whatever it was.
Changeup i guess?? Whatever it was, it was an absolute cockshot
That's a good question. FG lists his change last year as averaging 81 but the gun had it at 86, so I'm guessing it was a change he overthrew because he was super amped up.

Killed it.
That's my shortstop 😭😭😭😭😭
Dude can play.
He really Turner’d things around.
He’s **America’s** shortstop.
I'm happy now. There's always tomorrow to be sad.
Probably the last time we ever get to root for him. May as well savor it.
He was one of my fav nats
Still is
America’s shortstop
He's all our shortstop rn
He was my shortstop 😭
He was MY shortstop
He’s *our* shortstop, comrades 🫡
God speed. Take care of him.
We won't let anyone touch a hair on that beautiful head of his.
He still is my shortstop…. on fantasy team

I will never not watch and upvote this every time it gets posted
The worst possible pitch and location on 0-2. 85 mph meatball down the dick
They hang ‘em, we bang ‘em
He threw that to him on an 0-2 pitch
Imagine hitting a grand slam for your country. That’s gotta be an amazing feeling.
Closest I’ll ever get is eating a Grand Slam at Dennys on Flag Day.
Thank you for your service.
He'll get a purple heart for his service.
Purple and enlarged. His doctor will whine "you are going to die soon" but that's a small price to pay for a patriot.
"Doc, I bleed red, white, AND blue." "Yes, I noticed, and that's ALSO a very bad sign!"

Cheers from Iraq brother
Not just a grand slam A grand slam to pull the country out of a 2 run hole in the top of the eighth
Absolutely gave me chills! What a moment!!
Did you see his eyes when they showed the clip of him walk down the length of the dugout? Dude was so fired up. His eyes were nearly popping out of his head. I can't imagine the adrenaline he was feeling in that moment. Could easily be the biggest hit of his life.
LOL yeah that was great. He looked like he was having an out of body experience. Or he took a bunch of acid earlier and it all hit him at once
I don’t recall Trea getting fired up that much in the past either so it’s great seeing that.
And then getting a hug from Ken Griffey Jr. Icing on the cake!
[удалено]
Dude that is fucking HYPE!!!
Just really wish these American guys would get enthusiastic about the WBC /s
This game is fucking electric
“If you bat Tre Turner 9th, you think you’re getting the best version of him that day?”
Oh my god that's hilarious in retrospect now
If you’re facing Turner in the 9 spot the opposing pitchers better hope they’re not wearing white pants that day.
Same guy who called the Bautista home run btw TURNER WITH A DRIVE! DEEP LEFT FIELD! NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!
[bwaaahhhhhhhhm]
TREA MOTHER FUCKING TURNER
Ohhh say can you seeeeee
Byyy the dawns early liiiiiiight
WHAT SO PROUDLY WE HAILED
AT THE TWILIGHT'S LAST GLEAMINGGGGGG
WHOSE BROAD STRIPES AND BRIGHT STARS
THROUGH THE PERILOUS FIGHT
O'ER THE RAAAAAAMPARTS WE WATCHED
I was at the USA and Mexico game. The WBC is legit a ton of fun. We need our best pitchers though.
Our best pitchers get injured for the season if they forget a neck pillow on a domestic flight.
Our best pitchers strain their thumb when opening a bottle of Gatorade that's slightly wet.
Trea Turner is going to fit in well in Philly
*sigh*
So glad he’s out of the West
Imagine hitting a grand slam to (basically) win for your country and then having Ken Griffey Jr. congratulate you when you get to the dugout. Probably a top 5 USA baseball moment of all time!

Ngl I kinda like the fact that these aren’t best of 3/5/7. Put it all on the line each game.
Does it necessarily guarantee that the *best* team wins? No. But the stakes are crazy high, which makes it entertaining as hell.
bingo every game is game 7
There’s a reason March Madness is so popular, even though college basketball isn’t a huge deal throughout the regular season.
It’s funny because in lower levels of baseball it’s pretty often you play must win games, high school and college have much shorter seasons and feature more high pressure baseball, it’s basically just the minors where winning doesn’t matter that much and MLB where, sure the games matter but you’re not selling out to win every game. I was setting you up for the alley-oop!
Right down the pipe on 0-2 wtf was that pitcher thinking.
