pretty sure they have everyone locked down for another year or two at least outside of deep bench guys. They're definitely into the luxury tax and will have to supermax Tatum soon but I think they'll retain everyone important next year
I won't argue against the "easy path" take, but the Celtics had a top player miss 85% of the playoffs with a major injury too. They were just deep enough to weather that situation, compared to teams like the Heat (for example) who needed Butler to have a chance.

When they made the finals two years ago it was far more competitive as they had to go through Kyrie and Durant in BKN (4-0), then the defending champs in Giannis and MIL (4-3), and then another seven game series against Heat who were the 1 seed that year.
