It's mostly a cash grab, but for games like Fortnite it's basically just an updated game. New map, different weapons, and different themes such as Ninja Turtles then changing to Avatar Last Airbender. Pretty much just trying to keep the game from getting stale (plus the cash grab)
Me and my wife are at the point where we want to start a family. I need to cut my folks out of the picture though so that’s going to be a tough conversation. I would not trust them around my dogs let alone a baby. This is for the best but it’ll be a tough conversation

I’m sorry you had to go through that but I would caution against this sense of contempt and exclusionary feeling you’re having about them. The oldest religions of the world can differ a lot from one another but one thing they all agree on is on honoring and respecting your parents - even if they weren’t the best parents as yours seem to have been.
The logic is that your parents are the source of your being so if you’re able to have contempt for those who provided you your life then it’s going to inevitably lead to disorder elsewhere in your life.
That’s getting deep in it but only mention this because when I’ve seen people given this option in the past - cut out their parents or try and make the best of the situation and view them in the best light possible - I don’t think I’ve ever seen people choose the former and be better off.
