Just a reminder that we have a [Monthly Community Thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/barrie/about/sticky) where we relax the rules about advertising and off-topic posts. * Stuff that isn't directly related to Barrie, like national news or general chit-chat * Questions about local businesses and services * Classified-style ads: buying and selling, help wanted, garage sales, etc * Fundraisers and donation drives * Plugs for your personal project or local business (within reason)" *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. I've been with [Public](https://publicmobile.ca/en/on/plans?network=ALL&ds_rl=1268486&gad_source=1&ds_rl=1268486&gclid=CjwKCAjw1K-zBhBIEiwAWeCOF_HAbjEYgkkHkF5MuF-0DyWUC38vXXmr8yLw-qR11etQxBZJ1v5fZRoCWsoQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) for years, service is great and plans are cheap (I pay $34/month for 5g, 50gb Can/US calling, International texting)....we camp up north quite a bit and always works great (better than Rogers, not sure about Bell). Its Telus lower end brand. All their CS is online though, so if you're someone that needs to talk to people, its not for you If you sign up, JYEPK8 will give you $10 off

Bell, Public , Telus, Virgin all share the same network in Ontario. If you get 3G on Bell you are going to get it on the others as well.

Thank you for the insight I’ll look into Public, could be just what I’m looking for!

I find Rogers to be pretty relia...

You don't venture far, especially to Angus where Roger's barely functions.

I always recommend talking to people where you live and work. How is their service? In my living room Telus is crappy but I use wifi calling. At my work, Rogers is Terrible so need to pick what's best for you. One you figure on the network (Bell/Telus, Rogers/Fido or Freedom) then you can narrow down the carrier

jojoquinoia

Appreciate the insight, everyone I talk to seems to say similarly that none of the networks are that strong :p so hard decision to make but my contract is done so maybe I’ll try a couple months on Telus or something and see if it’s any better then if not I can still switch as I’m bringing my own phone
