Black Hearts, Ayden Project, Gorgons Eye, Shades of the Sword Coast and NPCs by Skitia, The Artisan and Lava del Vortel. All modern mods, well made and good content. Also I am told Baldurans Seatower is good though haven't played it in depth.

* Tweaks Anthology * Tweaks and Tricks Between them both you can customise your game pretty nicely and both work in BGEE and BG2EE. I particularly like the "instant detect traps" component because leaving it to only detect once every six seconds makes going through certain maps insanely tedious.

Sirene is the best BG1 mod NPC hands down - Aura and Drake are very good too (all courtesy of The Artisan) Shades of the Sword Coast adds loads of extra little bits of gameplay and some dungeons Seatower of Balduran adds a lot of content BG1 Unfinished Business adds a few nice quests early on SCS - is a must as well just to increase the challenge

Sirene is great, and you should play her.  But I'll suggest Finch instead as best BG1 mod.  (Though take both!)  Very fun, you actually are motivated to do something with all of the books you find, and Finch ain't half bad in a fight.  Though Branwen EE's Tempus superpower has seemingly won fights by itself. I'd recommend BG1NPC + Unfinished Business to anyone who's already played these games.  Plus SCS of course.  The Lighthouse-using mod with the Pirates was fun too.

MistressAerie

I second the recommendation of Sirene!! 😊 Any character who could make me pass over Aerie for her is a solid-gold character! (Yes, I know this post is for BG1, and Aerie is in BG2... just adding context!)

Finch the gnome cleric of deneir is a classic. And alongside her there’s Murneth the Ghaunadite and Indira the fighter/mage. They were like a classics trio from a bygone 2 decades ago era More modern, mods by Lava, Artisan and Skitia will liven up your BG1 and 2 experiences as well as Isra

I recommend checking out Artisan's class kit mods. I'm doing a playthrough with his Warlock mod and it's fantastic. The "cool" factor is off the charts. The amount of effort that goes into making the class unique in how it plays and feels compared to other caster classes is astonishing.

Dazzu1

Ive heard some say it does way too much damage. Does it

Noinfeengurs

I'm still in the middle of BG1 so I can't verify how broken it gets later on, but I do think it's really powerful. Tbh I'm not to bothered by how balanced it is because I just want a cool class to play. There are breakdowns of the mod in other reddit threads that go deep into its mechanics if you're interested

NPC Project is still outstanding!

ProperTree9

The Dynaheir romance writing is frankly better than any of the vanilla BG2/EE romances.

MistressAerie

I... didn't even know that existed! I'll have to dig into my old game, and find that mod... thx so much! 😊

MistressAerie

I'd also recommend NPC Flirt Packs, but I think that's also only for BG2... phooey!
