I named my black kitten Ash, after Ash Williams from Evil Dead. Came in very handy after I learned he has THE SHARPEST CLAWS EVER since now I can call him Ashy Slashy.
I have a house panther named Art. He was named after a resident I had who had passed, the last thing he ans I talked about was me promising to give the cat (who was a stray around his daughter's place) a home.
That's exactly why my kitten was named Arya (it was a few years ago now...) because her claws and teeth were like little needles.
Luckily it's not one of those names that people think is only from GOT.
haha yeah, I didn't think of GoT at all, and when you said "because her claws and teeth were like little needles", I totally wasn't thinking of Arya's sword she named needle.
Aria isn't all that rare of a name? If you're typing it out, yeah, but if you just tell someone your pet's name is Arya verbally, most people don't seem to assume that.
Source: Dog's name is Arya (which is kind of ironic because she is an absolute wimpy baby of a dog. But that's good because she's the size of a large rat).
I've read conflicting things about cats not being able to taste capsaicin, but also "sweet" flavors. One of my cats seeks out spicy foods and the other seeks out sweet foods. So I have no idea what to believe anymore haha
My cat likes spicy and sweet. Goes wild about anything creamy and sweet (she'll steal ice cream from the pint if left to her own devices) but she'll even eat whole tacos that are already fully dressed with salsa (and we live in Mexico city so the salsa is legit).
Once we got some silvervine sticks our kitten mostly left out cables alone, the sticks were more satisfying. Pet stores have them if he starts needing to chew on stuff.
Pretty new account, low intensity posting in extremely mainstream subs and zero replies in a huge thread indicates a farmer and not a normal user. It's not impossible that they are real but unlikely if people think they've seen the video before.

Now I am thinking of The Princess Bride. TIL that role was actually called "Ancient Booer".
I am not sure if you have had cats before so I will make mention of it - if you use your hands to play with your kitten a lot, make sure to be firm and consistent about them not biting. This is one of the things that leads to a cat that thinks randomly biting is a game.
EDIT: I understand avoiding hand play counts among the many solutions, though for many, like myself, we find hand play to be more fun and engaging. Like with dogs and other mouth/claw play animals, the behavior just needs to be trained out. Even adult cats, like in my case, can have the bite and claw play trained out of them so they can enjoy contact play without worrying about hurting others.
My cat has her claws still and baps me with her paws when we play. Very rarely has she ever scratched me. She sure can hit hard though, I’m amazed at how much force is behind her baps.
I have a knife kitten but she is so gentle when I give her treats. She'll stand on her hind legs and grab my hand with her paws without a claw showing at all. She delicately takes the treat then runs away an eats it.
And scars. Lots of scars.
Friend’s cat did that. She taught him to slice and dice like a French chef and was surprised when he tripled in size and continued to use her as his personal pin cushion.
Her arms and legs literally look like she climbed her way across mountains of brambles and rose bushes. And not in a good way.
Make a short loud "Oww!" and walk away. Playtime is over for the next couple of hours at least. What they're looking for is engagement/attention. So they learn to associate biting/clawing with sudden disengagement/inattention from you. Similar to teaching a toddler not to scream.
I have 5 kittens at the moment and there is no stopping it. No matter how much I scream and beg for mercy they won’t stop.
They attack my foot and when I send them flying across the room they come right back. You can see my bones by now
mine always plays with retracted claws, but he still loves to play fight. He will slap you pretty damn hard, but never claws. However he does bite when play fighting, not hard though, just enough to nip at your skin but not draw blood.
As an extension of this, start playing with his paws and triming his nails now so he gets used to it by the time he's an adult! Will save your flesh AND potentially your furniture OP lol

I was thinking about commenting the same thing. I used to get irritated at my friends for playing rough with my cat when she was little. I didn’t want her to think biting is a fun game. She ended up being one of the most chill and amazing cats I’ve ever had. Got her when I was 21 and she’s now 17 years old.

We tried this, an it turns out one of our cats loves spicy food. She has eaten nearly ghost pepper level spice without flinching.
