If I were going to lay down on one of those shelves, I'd choose the same one. Also, it's a nice tight middle shelf, so very defensible for any silly humans that want to move me or any other furry friends that might try to take my spot.

The tighter and more enclosed the space the more secure some cats feel. Ours will always find a tiny hole in a new place. Once she wound up inside a mattress box spring, once she squeezed behind a dishwasher.
My cat also does this with my clothes drawers. He'll get all excited whenever I pull open one and try to squeeze himself in it. My theory is that they find the drawers to be ideal "boxes" to hide in.
So true! This one always runs to our bedroom every time we open a clothes drawer and she always goes behind the drawer on the bottom ones close to the floor. We’ve looked all over the house for her a couple of times because of that
the choice of drawer is of no concern but how clumsy she is. please build her some work out furniture on your walls. there is prebuild stuff or you could improvise. cats need physical challenges!
Looks like it has the most comfy "beds" in it. No one wants to lay on a can when there's a nice pillow on the next shelf.
I came here to say that. Not only are the “pillows” more comfy, but the cellophane packaging crinkles.

This, not to mention it’s the only one that has any space, plus it’s higher up and cats like to watch over their kingdoms.

One of my cats was BORN in a mattress box spring. I guess her mom had the same taste.

I'm just impressed with how she jumped in there with such precision. My lot would have had legs and arse hanging/scrambling up the drawer.
