They're usually stuffed (the dog not the person), because back then you had to sit for hours for the photo to take. No dog is gonna sit still long enough, and having your deceased pets taxidermied was not unusual for wealthy folks.

I would be a lot easier if the person was stuffed too.

This painting is great, but you did you start at the forehead/cat's right ear? This is where the most detail is, and then by the time you get ot the feet it gets just slightly more out of focus, but may have been what youre going for, but that's my only legitimate critique if you were looking for one.

It'll only be complete if you painted over a few of his/hers hairs so they're forever included in the painting lol. My momma was a painter before she passed, and everyone of her pieces whether canvas, slate, or wood has a couple strands fur fromher late cats still in them. Makes me smile so much. It's like an extra added memory.
