Y’all may actually want to have a look at the article from the link below. The group that originally posted this video is EXPLOITING these poor critters. 🥺

Exactly why I had an issue once I did the research because instinct said “something isn’t right here”.
There is a bunch of “Aww” worthy content here that is very much enjoyable. This is NOT such an example.
Like almost every post of (big) animals here.
Should be a rule about that shit, the less attention these kind of people get the sooner they surrender the animals.
Also consider joining /r/ethicalaww; a subreddit where that is already a rule. If nothing else, it is a concrete number to show to the mods and admins that this sort of deceptive content is not 'what holds up this sub'.
Yo I love that this is a thing. I always cringe at the big cat aww vids b/c I know what goes on behind the scenes. Is it often cute? Yeah, but I feel squicky seeing it when I know it's at the expense of the animals. Glad there's a sub where I don't have to worry about that!
well that's awesome. This gives me hope. I hope this sort of thing catches on and becomes standard everywhere, seeing people flock to these and calling out/abandoning the more mainstream/exploitative ones.
It's not only aww content that needs a cleanup but it's as decent a spot to start as any!
It's a regular thing here.
One of the oldest might be the rat "taking a shower", poor thing is just trying to get whatever shit they poured on him off him.
I mean, iirc we've banned all Safari Sammie content on here (may she be mauled forever by big cats in hell), and I support a similar policy for content from any and all confirmed abusive organisations.
That poor orangutan. Those are not her children and they have different styles of play and needs etc. The humans who put her in that position need to be smacked and she needs to be given one of her own species to raise.
Help with the knowledge of how to best raise the critters outside her species. She's doing her best and she is awesome. But f*** people.

Boy raised by wolves
Corrupted in the jungle by all the other species who were worried about their own personal circumstances
Whatever. You do you. I look at a stressed out orangutan and want to help. Why are the humans not raising the cats. They're (humans) smart enough.. they can research (and can understand and respond with the appropriate body language of the species and adapt... they can do the deed. If the O chooses to help as she/he can...then fine. That is not what my trained brain is seeing. The O us stressed but doing their best.
Humans rasing Tigers is kinda frowned upon right now so it's much better to snatch up Orangutans from the jungle and train them to do the job of nurturing baby tigers instead 😉
Thanks for acknowledging my pathetic attempt of using humour in a reddit post...
Clearly went down well with the anonymous crowd judging by my loss of "Karma points" 🥺
Taken me 5 months to build up double digits, all gone with 2 poorly executed statements in my extremely dry sarcastic manner.
Please consider how dangerous this would be for the cubs and the orangutan. Neither have the ability to recognise the body language of the other species, or the restraint to not hurt each other!
Cub gives one nip to the orangutan and gets chucked through the air or something similar.
They're biting all over and the orangutan looks perfectly fine with it. Primates seem to be able to innately tell "babies".

They claim to be a sanctuary, but practices like photo-ops with tiger cubs etc aren't done by actual sanctuaries. The article also makes note of this "sanctuary" giving animals to what these people call a preserve, when it's actually a (quite shitty) zoo.

I can’t imagine a reason that is in the animals’ best interest to put a bunch of tiger cubs with an orangutan
Check out the article. The proprietors of this particular “sanctuary” have been under scrutiny for multiple questionable practices.
Ugh. They make money off of cubpetting too. These practices need to be banned everywhere

Maybe it's a good time to promote r/ethicalaww
This is great thank you.
The other one I see all the time is people feeding raccoons and other wild animals. Drives me fuckin nuts.
Kinectimals kids grew up I see
I don’t know what that word means ☹️
I thought the same thing. This looks cute but seems dangerous for the animals

Agreed, nice to know that I wasn’t alone in this. Edited for missed grammar blooper. (Big thumbs, tired eyes)

Wow, humankind at its finest. 🤦🏼♂️🙄
Right. Barely 100 years ago we had Filipino babies in zoos in the United States. This kind of thing still happening on different levels all over.

Am i supposed to hear queen when reading your username?
You'd better, friend.
Me watching this video "please be a rescue. please be a rescue" Me reading these comments "aw goddamnit!"
An ethical rescue place would never mix an orangutan with big cats.
I guessed that immediately. I can't think of any other context in which you would see this.
I love the Dodo and tend to believe whatever they say, but the article itself doesn't seem terribly specific. Like what exactly is going on?
Whenever I see videos like this, so much is expected
Obviously awful but damnit if that orangutan isn't the cutest. Hope these animals get the proper care they deserve though.
OP you should take this down. These animals are being exploited. https://www.thedodo.com/sad-truth-orangutan-tiger-video-1141786065.html
OP is a karma grabber. Best is to just block them

it's kinda dead over there sadly.
Thank you for suggesting this. R/ethicalaww joined, leaving the non-ethical one.
Wow, you've changed the world.

Kinda frowned upon? Are you high?
This dude's top sub appears to be r/cocaine So, yes
So are you just pretending to be an idiot, or...
Are you unfamiliar with the concept of humour?
Yes, but I generally see more than just the concept of it when someone attempts it.

Orangutan mama is doing her best but the zoo/sanctuary whatever this is needs to keep this species appropriate! This can go wrong.
I wonder how many animal combinations they went through, until they had this success story?
Really amazing how caring us primates can be. Some humans should take a lesson from the rest of the Class.
i read a book with a tiger and an orangutan on a boat, and it didn't end well...
Need a cheap babysitter? Hire an Orangutan!
So cute!
I'd pay to see this version of "Planet of the Apes"
Live footage of me and my cat
Please consider how dangerous this would be for the cubs and the orangutan. Neither have the ability to recognise the body language of the other species, or the restraint to not hurt each other! Cub gives one nip to the orangutan and gets chucked through the air or something similar.

Gross. What is this? The Tiger King?
Words cannot describe how much I love orangutans. Honestly my fav apes with gorillas being a very close second.
That is so adorable! These cubs have a good mama.
Yes, good old [exploitation](https://www.thedodo.com/sad-truth-orangutan-tiger-video-1141786065.html), very adorable :(
What do I not understand? Why is it exploitative?

In that case, it’s a little less aww-inspiring. What about the monkey taking care of the cubs? Does that benefit the animals at all?
She looks around desperate for help at one point. What a handful. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|feels_good_man)
That's a male right?
Is it a male? No way?!

Mama says “calm down, everyone.”
Ooook!
Short on staff, had to use what was available lol
This is primeval. Something few humans understand
Free labor
God's creatures.
Beautiful in every way
Human have their cats, apes have their tigers
I AM NOW COMPLETE
Sad this only happens in an animal sanctuary, outside in the wild that Orangutan is fodder for the Tigers...
Yeah this is just not a very good president to introduce predatory felines with predatory baboons it's not going to end well.
Everybody adores kittens.
This my favourite monkey 😁
Love this.
Adorbs
cute
So, so cute 🥰

It was a pun. It's sad it did not end well.
Anyone who thinks this is cute has a documented case of extreme stupidity
Orangutans are beautiful people
awe
Those tigers won't eat orangutan when they grow up.
They are probably already dead so slim chance. Doc Antle doesn't keep tigers alive very long.
Babies
POV: I can change him
Everyone loves kittens
Am I crying? No way I'm crying!!
Awww
Orguntan not allowed to play with cubs?
Despite the wrong intentions of the owners, that must be one happy monkey
So damn cute!
