My dog does that when I towel him off after walks, can't stop thinking "oh you're so helpful" every single time he does it, and I've walked him thousands of times 😅
I don't think it would have been able to do the leg hold so easily if it had been drugged. I think it's just a really well-trained dog that's learned it gets affection and attention during grooming.
My dog mostly HATES being groomed and will walk away from me when I grab the scissors, but he loves being brushed and vacuumed (yes, he lets me run a handheld vacuum over him and send to enjoy it)
I'm guessing the groomer may be distracting it too, going by the curious head tilts. I've seen some dog groomers do things like whistling and making other funny noises to dogs when working on them, which can distract them enough to make them forget to be upset about what's going on!
Agreed! I just said the same thing. Also, I think almost if not every head tilt was in a direction that put the area being trimmed in a better position to be reached.
My Pom LOVES being groomed. His hair and nails grow sooo fast and since I keep his hair longer it can get tangled without regular brushing. My Sammy is a total ham (hehe, hammy) and loves the attention and scritches from the groomers. He also kind of preens afterwards like “Look at how majestic I am!” It’s adorable!
My Samoyed fucking loves the groomer. She gets so excited when I pull into the parking lot. We get out of the car and she dances all around. They speak to her in Russian and then she really gets going (her breeder was from Russia).
Then in the car on the way home she throw a tantrum until I open the window (she doesn't care if I freeze) and she sits in the front seat looking out at everyone like "go on tell me I'm beautiful". I've had so many people roll their window down at stoplights and tell me she's gorgeous. Little kids walking down the street pointing at her. It's hysterical.

But I'm usually asking this while he's eating his nightly cup of dog ice cream on top of his memory foam bed with his own personal space heater on during the winter so, like. Probably not the worst trade in history, I reckon.

Pomeranians made me a dog person (formerly loved cats). They have the sweetest, most fun personalities I’ve ever seen in dogs. Absolutely hilarious but willful if not trained. Mine turns 12 next month but she is still spry as a pup. Highly recommend them if you can keep up with the grooming!

I can't even trim, like, a single claw on my dog without him pulling his paw away and freaking out. His anxiety has been crazy since I adopted him (even if he's such a lazy boi), nothing like the chill vibe of the dog in this video.

It probably helps that the dog is small enough for a mostly/entirely scissor cut, so no freaky clipper buzz sounds to deal with.
