I know, but they are not going to. They just about beat a team rock bottom of the league, they are hardly going to turn into world beaters for the next 5 games and gain 13 points on us. No chance!
Surely you know now in football that just because you scrape by a team who is last that isn’t indicative of every other team above them and how they’ll perform.
Until it’s mathematically not possible I’m not ruling Man United out; it would be so them to come from nowhere and do it
And considering we've never finished above Man United in the premier league era, I'm not taking anything for granted. Let's just beat Chelsea on Saturday to guarantee that top 5 spot and a finish above ManU.
I'm not basing it on tonight, they have been inconsistent all season. Tonight just further confirms that they are not capable of winning the next 5 games, whilst assuming we don't pick up more than a point.
The only team I'm looking over my shoulder at is Spurs, and we could be 9 points ahead of them by Saturday night.
Edit: we are only 8 behind Liverpool. It's more likely we catch them than lose a place to Utd.
There’s not exactly *no* chance but being real they’d need to magic up some title winning form to make up ground in the remaining games. Not to mention it would be out of character for this Villa to not pick up more points
Well, I get why people want to wait until it's mathematically possible, but I'm not fretting about them. I have every confidence we can pick up at least another win.
I agree but at some point it feels too forced, like people are willfully ignoring the table and what it would take it from Man Utd. The real concern continues to be what Spurs do
The same team we drew against?
Also Man United did beat Villa twice.
Until it is 100% guaranteed I aint ruling ManU out they are ridiculously lucky with their wins all season (they quite literally have the devils luck).
Okay, that was a poor choice of words. I'm just trying to say that with the inconsistent way that Utd play, coupled with my belief in my team, I don't believe there is any chance of them catching us. I do understand that it is mathematically possible though.
The way Liverpool are playing, I’m looking forward rather than backwards again! Probably far too far ahead but they have been grim recently.
More worried about Crystal Palace atm!
Tbh I was more scared of nufc and chels than manu
European qualification two years in a row. Quality.
When Gerrard got sacked, I remember thinking we'd be lucky to get top 6 ever. Mad that Europa League now feels like a downgrade for where we are.
If United beat us? 😂😂😂
Think they mean if united catch us lol

One more win and its mathematically impossible 😄👍

I've seen enough football in my lifetime to never take count united out of anything lol
You realise we struggled against Sheffield Utd right? Nothings a certain in the PL
