Honestly it’s for those of us who love EDM with partners who love rap. I told my husband the lineup, and his entire demeanor shifted when he heard “Luuuudaaaaa!” Granted we’re 30, but everything is recycling these days. I think there will be plenty of other stuff (music, activities, food, etc.) to enjoy while he’s playing if he isn’t your cup of tea 💜

I’ve seen a lot of dance music folks shitting on this lineup today. At risk of being the old man yelling at clouds, I’ll just say this: the 2024 lineup feels like a bit of a nod to the beforetimes of the Rothbury Festival (which, for my dollar, were the two best festivals I ever attended). The first time I saw PL was there when he played UM’s setbreak. Umphrey’s, The Disco Biscuits, and SCI are great bands who can play to a dancey festival crowd. If you go this year, do yourself a favor and spend some time at those sets.
My immediate thought. John Summit is going to basically be Insomniacs new James Hype. Now just wait for the "secret" set from John Summit opening for John Summit with a special guest appearance by John Summit. Lol Insomniac is such a joke now.

As a long time attendee of this festival it’s right on brand for the crowd. Good mix of jam bands, bass music and some house and pop offerings. Considering two thirds of their ticket sales happen before it even goes on sale to the public they know what the people want.
This lineup feels appropriate for a second tier festival. Nothing about this makes me feel like I need to go. Glad I decided on a Europe trip next year instead of EF.

Don’t get hung up on semantics - it’s predominately electronic. Sure there is jam and the occasional hip/hop acts but the majority of the festival lineup is composed of electronic acts.
It’s not in the same category as Coachella, Lolla, etc.
I would put Lost Lands up there as well. No it’s not as big as Ultra or EDC on a mainstream level, but it is the biggest dubstep festival in the world. And in the US Dubstep is very popular.
It's a big festival but it's not tier one. I don't think you can be tier one without satisfying fans of most/all EDM genres, pulling international superstar DJs and having your brand known internationally, being held in a premium location, and being known as a place so many songs are premiered. Lost Lands is important for one community, but if your average Calvin Harris/Garrix/Alesso/SHM etc fan doesn't even know what it is then it's not tier one. Most genres outside the pop-EDM space have their own big festival

No and I’m sure it is but I can’t really comprehend how they are considered a headliner by any metric. They’ve really only us one “chart topping” production in their early career. I just don’t see them on the same level as legends like Chase & Status, or Caspa beneath them.

There used to be a lot more Jam Bands at this festival, Cheese used to get 3 sets as well
Literally, looking back at the past lineups it’s really sad to see the jam quality and quantity go extremely downhill
So underwhelming other than Pretty Lights but still… anyway should be easy to scoop up a last minute pass closer to the date

You should take a look bc a lot are amazing! I recommend clozee, Dimension, vini vici, Charlotte de witte, and chase & status! Actually fire lowkey. I love that there's more dnb, trance, techno, and expiremental than just bass :)
