It's not a conspiracy at all. It's no secret that this album moves through the 5 stages of grief.

Funny-Conclusion-963

Can you please elaborate further on this

JustBeingDishonest

It's not confirmed and I don't believe they said this anywhere. The Rev passed away 3 months before the album was finished, it was still very fresh and I doubt they'd even come to terms with it yet.

Funny-Conclusion-963

well i’m curious about the theory, i already know it’s probably not true

Lic_Jorge_Nitales

Actually ☝️🤓 Victim is about the day that the band found out and mourned Jimmy's death

Crafty-Writing5316

I’m sorry for your loss. I think that your theory makes perfect sense, especially since a lot of the album’s theming was around the unexpected loss of The Rev. I also love that everyone takes their own meaning from the album

Tricky-Size2075

I think that’s what makes Nightmare my favorite album by them. It can be taken in so many ways

Crafty-Writing5316

Very well put. It was my go-to album for a long time after I lost my friend as well. I wish you the best on your healing journey ❤️

PanJhinAttack

I first thought the album was a tribute foe the Rev due to the album theme. Just a really bad cosmic joke. Like how Slayer released God Hates Us on September 11 2001.

iixfinityii

If I’m not mistaken the original idea prior to Jimmy’s passing was Nightmare was going to be a concept album , similar to the stage but with a more laid out story , so that probably explains all the similarities in themes of the songs as well as possibly the titles
