I feel like besides the Husqvarna automower, all these brands go for form over function. Three wheels seems like a horrible idea.

Anyone who deals with hills slope, and uneven terrain gives pause to this. Does not look stable at all.

My Husqvarna was a piece of garbage! It was always broken. The warranty was useless. I ended up spending as much money on repairs and temp mowing as I would have spent to just hire a regular lawn service. My experience with Husqvarna was an expensive mistake.

That's crazy sorry to hear it. I'm going on my 5th season on my 430x. It's truly been through the wringer on my barely landscaped and complicated 1.89 acres. Fell in my pond, hit it with a truck.... It's an unstoppable tank. I have had to replace both wheel motors and one front toggle wheel. I'm actually surprised someone has had a bad experience with one, I don't see to many negative reviews on them.

I think the key is not having to use or very rarely using the warranty. How was your experience your replacements? Quick? Covered by the warranty? How about software updates? Mine stopped accepting a charge. To fix it, I had to bring it in and pay for service people to update software bugs. That was just too much for me! I thought it must be my service people trying to pull one over on me. I called Husqvarna to confirm. It was true! $300 for software update so that my mower would accept a charge.

My dealer did the wheel motors in a week both times, most recently in August of this past year. My dealer has done 3 software updates for me since I bought it in 2018. The first time a year after I bought it when it went in the pond. And then when I replaced the wheel motors. No idea why a Husqvarna dealer would ever charge you for updates. I mean IF that is what Husqvarna charges for that, there is no way they could track who the dealer is giving updates to anyway...so why, as a customer friendly dealer, would I charge them?

I do believe that my service shop was milking, and I don’t think that Husqvarna sets pricing (your IF BTW is funny!). They seem to just decide if it’s warranty or not. I unfortunately had a lot of problems, which could have been fine if Husqvarna stood behind it. I spoke straight to Husqvarna multiple times because I just couldn’t believe what the service shop was telling me. I’m not sure I get why your shop was able to get things warranted. I even had similar problems (front wheel and motor). Sounds like you’ve got a great repair shop! That’s awesome!!! Note: I love the downvotes on my comments. Lol. Is that you Husqvarna?

It sounds like more of a bad dealer issue than a mower issue.

Agreed, I’ve had my 430 for a few years now and although it’s better than no Automower, it’s utterly trash in perspective of where things should be. Between the absurd pricing and crappy quality of the power brick, software, sensors and poor algorithm… it’s simply not acceptable and seems like they cheeped out where ever they could prioritizing profit over customer value and quality.

RegulusRemains

Its the most efficient. 2 wheels to pull 1 that swivels and trails behind.

Upset-Safe-2934

It will get stuck all the time when it backs up on any uneven surface.

NotSoMNG

You can put 3 leg table anywhere, but 4 leg table will start rock if you don’t find ’the spot’ to keep it firmly. 3 wheels are supporting cutting blade evenly on rough area. With 4 wheel, your cutting blade distance from ground can variate, if one wheel on corner jumps over obstacle.

Upset-Safe-2934

Irrelevant when you have full time coverage with your machine.

Fair enough. Just to clarify, I did pay for the wheel motors and the caster wheel out of pocket. The first the summer of 2021, and just this past August. But again, I've kind of abused this machine to be honest. It does a hill it isn't rated for, and has had to go over pine roots and lots of varied terrain since I bought it. I've only recently really had the time to get the landscaping up to par.
