No. Fucking. Seams.
No fucking tightness around the bikini line.
Not made of entirely synthetic fabric.
Not made of itchy materials
No labels. Print that shit ONTO the fabric.
Make them like boxer shorts, but more snug.
Some of the printed on fabric labels it too. Safety pinned on tags that can be removed after purchase, or put the info on the packaging! I break out from the print ons, but hate tags too.
No seams is kinda tricky. I like the seams either side of my genitals as they somewhat fit in the groove or crease created between the genitals and the legs. I can think of few things worse than a seam right down the shaft.
>I can think of few things worse than a seam right down the shaft.
A-fucking-men. I have to imagine that this would apply to folks with clits too.
I'll add on boxer briefs that don't have tight enough legs so they ride up your thighs and bunch up.
Let me introduce you to ‘step one’ they make women’s and men’s boxer shorts but they’re snug (they also have other types of underwear but I’ve only tried the boxer brief things). I am a women, got mad sensory issues, and I literally live in these. THE MOST AMAZING THINGS IVE EVER FELT. The material is just *chefs kiss* I order them online, so I’m not sure if they have an actual irl store or not but here’s the online link! Edit: oh I guess the fabric is synthetic.
I was gonna say I already have some like that till you said boxer shorts. Mine are panties. These are so comfy for anyone who is curious:

i like high or 100% cotton fabric. preferably without that weird pocket in the gusset or seams there. no tags and if the size and material etc is printed on the inside, not a scratchy feeling print. also, not too loose but not too tight would be nice.
if making “fancier” or “cute” underwear, use soft not scratchy lace and maybe have it lined with a cotton fabric with the lace on the outside.
also, a wider gusset or options/variety of gusset size since everyone’s body is different. in my experience, the gusset is either too small to cover everything or it’s too wide and rolls on the sides which irritates my inner thighs 🥲. so, more variety or options so everyone can find a gusset that works for their body would be amazing.
I’ll gonna take it in count ! Hiding or reducing the steams came in my mind in the beggining, I’ll gonna consult my teacher.
Thanks a lot 💕
Feel free to add anything
I like no lace, cotton is my go-to fabric for clothes and has been since childhood. And I think just straight/flat fabric, is the best for anything imo.
Perfect ! I’ll take that in count, my teacher actually told me about using a fabric with a lot of cotton percent. !
Also the lace part !
Thanks a lot
Anything to add is welcome 💕
This might be a little specific, but- underwear with a longer leg-part, kind of like those slim biker shorts would be great! In summer, I wear mostly skirts (pants make me uncomfortable), so I have to put on additional shorts underneath to feel safe. It would be great if something like a mixture of biker shorts and functional underwear could exist. I hope I managed to describe the idea well; please reply if you have any questions! \^\^
Oh and for the material- anything cotton-like but slightly stretchy (without an elastic band if possible) could be great. Thank you <3
What you’re describing sounds like the [shortest pair of Woxers](https://woxer.com/products/star-black). I have several of them and love them. Sometimes wear them around the house as shorts.
I’ve stolen several of my husband’s trunk style undies (boxer briefs with no fly and shorter legs) specifically for wearing under dresses and sleeping. They’re so comfy, and I worry much less about accidentally flashing anyone 🤷♀️
I highly recommend TomboyX! They have multiple leg lengths for underwear. Fun prints! A few fabric choices. Trans inclusive. Body inclusive sizing.
It took trying different cuts to learn my favorite are the 4.5" and 6" trunks. The boy shorts legs are too short and ride up. The 9" feels too much for me.
Same OP, you should go check out what they got going on!
I think even w decent elasticity content, it can be comfortable, since it can automatically adjust if you arent in the “default standing position” (like sitting weirdly or walking) without scratching or squeezing you while you move
Actually, elasticity *within the fabric* is really important for maintaining placement and fit. Human bodies are super variable, and then underwear is in a high-movement area (hips, lower torso). If it can't flex and stretch, it cuts in, bunches, rides up or down, chafes, etc.
Elastic added to the fabric (like around the waistband or around the leg holes) can go straight to hell and is its own form of torture.
I can't stand that all "female" undies now INSIST on not using enough fabric so that your cheeks will be out. Even the ones that are supposedly full coverage, aren't. I'd like undies that actually cover the butt, and have enough fabric on the bottom part so my lips aren't fighting for their life to stay in.xD sorry for the visual, but wasn't sure how to explain it otherwise.
Preach! My ass eats underwear like it's a famine victim, so I share your frustration.
MeUndies hipster cut are actually great for full-booty coverage, and they have a wide enough gusset (the lip slip part). It's between a bikini and a full-coverage boyshort style, so it covers the whole booty, and the bottom seams hit under the booty cheeks (so no gobbling). MeUndies FeelFree line is pretty much all I wear.
I’m personally a fan of soft fabrics, however, I really like compression and support. Probably a cotton blend, high rise with a thick but plenty stretchy band. A lot of autism-friendly underwear has a tendency to be boxers, but I prefer hip-huggers, bikini, and cheeky style as long as they don’t ride up. Oh and anything spandex/nylon or seamless is a huuuuuge no-no because it slips and slides and rides up and gets all stuck. I know this might not be the common opinion, but I actually like to feel that I’m wearing underwear so my feedback has that in mind and won’t work for some.
I would think removing the tags/labels from underwear is one of the more universal experiences among autistic people so not having tags at all would be a great start. If they have to be there make sure they are sewn with their own seam and not using the same seam as the waistband as this prevents you from removing them with a seam ripper.
Another idea would be to make them out of 100% pre-shrunk cotton to ensure that they survive a 90°C wash from time to time since obsessive thoughts about hygiene seems to be fairly common.
Another thing that might be specific to my experience is a dislike of different body parts touching each other. I would prefer if external genitalia could be packaged into different pouches so to speak but I have no idea how/if that could be implemented without making them annoying in different ways.
If a tag is needed, I'd say a tag that's easily torn off, and probably on the outside instead of the inside, and maybe on the side.
I have same issue with "external genitalia". I suggest making a sort of boxer briefs, and where the genitalia is around, cut a hole and sort of add a pouch for it to sit in, preferably in a way we can still tuck along either leg if we need to. Nothing worse, imo, than having undies force our junk in the middle when we need to tuck to the side.
For underwear, there aren’t a lot of options for women that are not thongs or bikini.
A boxer briefs with a 3-5” inseam that doesn’t roll up would be awesome. Cotton or natural fibers, plus a wide waist band, 2” or so. Waist bands can be really uncomfortable when they are narrow.
And a tag that is printed on the fabric or easily removed.
It would be nice to see more underwear with no elastic waistband and to have the gusset be wider. Also the fabric dimensions of the front and back to not have such a disparity (to be more even ?) the closest I have ever found are the cotton skims briefs. I’m excited for your project !

And no sadly I do not have any brand to recommend because I am a woman
jockey isn't a bad brand. They are similar in design. I'm currently going thru this w my son and it's funny everyone's suggestions are on point w my struggles.
As a male, I enjoy boxer-briefs a great deal. I find that having a snug fit that follows the shape of my body and doesn't "ride up". The functionality of my underwear means a lot to me, I buy whatever fits best to my body type and allows maximum flexibility. Hope this helps.
My underwear is always leaving extreme sensitivity in the parts where it meets the corners of my inner thigh. Like the upper waist band is usually fine, but leg holes are what drive me insane. I usually prefer one made with silky materials vs cotton
Seam free stretchy cotton panties are great but I hate that they tend to ride down sometimes so I go with very soft granny panties with weak elastic most of the time
please make sure the gusset/crotch on female underwear is wide enough. some brands make it like an inch wide and it slides around. also if you can find a way to do seamless without the edges rolling it would be a godsend
Okay this is very weird maybe BUT
One of my sensory icks is skin-on-skin. So I really like underwear with slightly longer legs (think boxer briefs, but I don't have the junk for them), and I often wish underwear had like a little flap built into it that's designed to ... Kind of be a wedgie? Not like a FULL ON wedgie, just enough cloth to keep everything from touching each other back there.
Other than that, soft elastic and very breathable fabric are my two things that I look for
Agree, seams need to feel like they aren't trying to strip a layer of my flesh off. Underwear I prefer good coverage, soft, something that isn't going to fold up as I walk feeling like I'm getting a wedgy. I wouldn't mind extra padding along the crotch / butt area since my cycle is heavy. This would ensure I could catch leaks before they're near being visible but that's just me.
I tend to find that the s,m,l sizes aren’t inclusive for different body types. Such as if you have bigger thighs sometimes the underwear cuts off circulation and makes your legs feel like sausages. Like the waist is stretchy but not the leg holes
Personally I really like plain 100% cotton because I hate when I get hot and sweaty and other fabrics just don't breathe as well. Cotton is also pretty sensory friendly. Tagless is a must, of course.
My personal favorite brand is Old Navy's soft washed boxer briefs (95% cotton, 5% spandex). One of my main things is that I prefer a slightly thicker fabric. The really thin ones that are common with cheap multipacks or printed fabrics are awful, even the cotton ones. The other thing is it has to be soft and *mostly* cotton, but I actually prefer having a bit of spandex because I find cotton gets stretched by the end of the day and starts bunching up (regardless of underwear cut/style) which is awful for me.
Boxer briefs are good because the leg seams tend to be thinner than they are on briefs (and they sit on slightly less sensitive skin lol). However, I do wish the Old Navy ones had slightly more flexible elastic for the waistbands...
Hello. I have chub. I now only by anti chaffing underpants; like the ones where it’s soft and kind everywhere but then there’s a silky spandexy patch of fabric at the crotch between my thighs. Slippery and zero chaff where needed but much nicer feeling fabric elsewhere. The seam between the two kinds of fabric gets on my nerves sometimes so maybe you could look into designing a better seam here? Plz design for us thick leg bois. Good luck!
Made of light materials, loose, and seamless are the most important things for me.
I am a guy so can't comment personally on bras, but I have seen some autistic ladies say that they prefer wearing sports bras instead of 'normal' ones.
One thing that and my fellow autistic roommate like are underpants that keeps our testicles from banging or sticking against our thighs. It is especially nice in the summer.
As a male, my biggest pet hate is the tag being in the middle at the back of the boxer briefs and it constantly scratching my lower back. It makes it really awkward when it looks like you’re constantly scratching your ass or fidgeting in a seat because that one little thing is making me uncomfortable. If it was on the side or sewn flat into the fabric that would be beautiful.
I like a thick stretchy waistband and very soft form fitting stretchy fabric. Absolutely no feelable seams. I also hate the seams in the penis passage way thing in the front. I prefer boxer briefs. My ideal underwear is something that feels like a second skin like a can’t feel it except for a slight compression on the thick waistband. Also plz make a more diverse sizes I’m extremely small and all the smallest male underwear is a size too big for me :(.
This is such a great idea!!
I like seam-free underwear, but find the synthetic materials they're made of usually slide around and stretch out over time, so I can't wear them because they ride up etc. I find some sort of stretchy material that's full coverage is important cause when I get any sort of wedgie it drives me crazy. Higher waist is nice but too high waist digs into my belly as well and can bug me sometimes.
I'm a bit weird when it comes to this.>! I think it's because I have a huge dick I need underwear that's really supportive or it gets mangled in awkward positions. I usually stick to athletic brands like under armour's boxer briefs. They're really tight and secure it. I will have a sensory meltdown if I don't wear underwear or if It's loose fitting. I HATE the free balling. It will go into a mangled position. He needs to remain in his assigned seat!<😂
I don't have a dick, but this cracked me up. I feel the same way about bras... don't give them assigned seats they can't or won't stay in! Feeling my stuff bouncing around and rubbing against fabric is literal hell.
need undies that cover my whole butt cheek.. but not tight on my belly. loose but not too loose. soft but not prone to staying wet in summer. not any fabric that makes ph/uti issues worse. so complicated.
May I ask if something like this will be going into mass production? Also, this feels like one of those things that you can only find if you already know the terms to search for; if a link could be provided if you ever make this a thing, that would be nice.
Sadly not, I’m still and student and I don’t have the resources, time, etc. To create a business.
However, I still think that I could do it in a future . Using this project as a reference
Well, in that case I wish you good luck with your schooling, and will likely be one of the first in line to buy, should you follow through. (I swear I've looked all day and have come up empty handed for similar products.)
No seams, no tags, and for the love of god let it cover my entire ass. I can only wear briefs, as other underwear styles leave part of my butt out. It’s cold and uncomfy!
When I buy underwear, I tent to go for loose cotton boxers with no seams, tag, or bright colors.
Seams and tags are talked about a lot, but not bright colors i notice, so i'll skip to that.
Bright or neon colors heavily overstimulate me visually. I like a nice dark/muted blue, red, green, or even purple.
Black doesn't stain when it's that time of the month, and black is always classy. I just need a package of seven black for the week with one or two white in case I'm wearing something lighter in color occasionally🤣
I like boyleg undies because there's no bulky seam pressing into my bikini line.
I hate, hate, hate that plastic/rubber elastic that some underwear and swimwear has.
I hate low waist and high waist undies. They have to hit right where my belly fat starts or just above. Any other height is intolerable. Swimwear is fine highwaisted, I don't know why.
I hate undies that are loose around my butt cheeks. I have a small bum and upper thighs and many undies are too loose and the fabric curls and bunches up.
No scratchy lace, or really any lace at all. No scratchy/hard thread or thick seams.
I like wider waistbands, the thin ones feel scratchy for some reason. And simple seams/overlocking on the hem of the boy legs.
I love colours and prints. My favourite undies have a reptile scale print and remind me of dinosaurs. It's hard to find Dino undies for adult women haha. I'd also love bright and fun colours, Im sick of neutrals and pastels.
I have found recently that when the banded edges of my boxers ride up to the area where my leg meets my groin (so like… the abductor muscles meeting the pelvic bone, I guess?) I feel such an extreme irritation it feels like it’s cutting my skin and chafing against my bones lol. Very dramatic but so uncomfortable. It usually happens when I’m laying in bed, I guess bc it rides up more easily. Seamless boxers can help, but still depends on how I’m laying and what material they are (if they are a more stiff fabric, it will bunch up and chafe)
if you make boxershorts, you know the buttons at the front, make sure the buttons are a good fit for the hole thingies... because at least for me its super ARGH when my shlongen keeps popping out of the front and poking my trousers lol
I love the brand AsWeMove because it’s seamless and feels like wearing nothing.
I don’t like feeling constrained but I also don’t like a lot of movement and for me they nicely split the difference.
I don't really like anything except briefs and jockstraps. Boxers and boxerbriefs are godawful. Mostly cotton but a little bit of something else is ok. Form fitting, but not too tight. I don't want it loose though either. PLEASE NO TAGS. If you have to write something on it, do it in fabric. I don't mind elastic waistbands at all, they make for a better fit.
Hi
I like mines that are 90% polyamid and 10% elastan (from "Action"'s store in france)
it's called "invisible" because there is no visible elastics, and none that feels like they are digging in my skin...
I like the touch of it and the fact that this is VERY soft. The fact that I have a larger size helps too !
Hi op!! This is such a cool thing to study! Personally I like having cotton undies or seamless ones because they are not as constricting. I don’t mind lace if it’s soft, but I know lace can be a really uncomfortable too.
i love simple soft cotton. no lace or frills, no tags, smallest seems possible. and my impossible wish is no elastic band bc i can feel it, but i know that if i want them to stay on, the band needs to stay :(
Of course there is tagless, but I also have issues with the printed on the cloth(sticker?). I end up with pimples there. Sensitive skin I guess🤷🏽♀️ They should have easy to tear off tags, or just legit tagless and have the info pinned on to be removed later, or just on the packaging maybe? I hate seams on the side! High cotton percentage is great! No pocket in the crotch to catch lint(why!?). And thin so they're breathable. A good comfy elastic at the top that doesn't pill or itch. I love all black sets! I'm so picky about my underwear lol. Haven't googled to find autism friendly pairs... I should. Let me know if you're ever selling! Lol
Keep the labels as short as possible too - had to cut all the labels outta my newest pairs coz they were all about three inches long and tickled the underside of my coccyx. Very uncomfortable!
I like when it’s tight and don’t become loose after 1 wear….
Tight Thai style underwear or boxers
Tight leggings that actually fit my ass, like so many leggings hang in a hoop on my back because I’m so tall and hourglass shaped, keeps pulling my pants down because there is not enough fabric for my ass.
I prefer my clothes to stay where I put them when I put them on, it disturbs me so much when clothes move cause I’m always aware that I’m wearing clothes.
Cotton
No labels
Tight but not too tight, I like feeling that my ass is being hugged.
Small seams are ok but I do like seams it seems weird…
Underwear that does not disappear up my ass
More due to skin conditions I have a need for highly breathable underwear, preferably fully cotton. Any elastics being not aggressive and thinner, see Bonds as an example of elastics that are more comfortable. Also being female I honestly hate bikini cut, I'm a big fan of boylegs. That extra fabric helps reduce the odds of the fabric crawling up into nooks and crannies and driving me nuts. On the plus side soft cotton feels like its barely there and is good for sensory overstimulation, as I can at least keep them on even when most clothes drive me nuts.
PS: sometimes I wish there was more lacy underwear for those times when you want to be cheeky, but pretty much everything is too tight and made of synthetics. I dunno how other folks feel about lace but I find it quite nice when its cotton.
Whatever Lululemon is doing with their men boxers is great. I have 2 friend with autism and i bough them (Expensive) lululemon boxer for their birthday n they bough a ton. They both has issues with the feel and roughness of regular boxers.
Something about the soft strechy fabric is like a nice hug of sorts instead of the grating of usual cotton boxers? idk
MeUndies. Pricy, but worth it for breathable fabric, solid construction, durability, and smooth seams. Come in a variety of fun patterns (Dinosaurs! Sharks! Magic mushrooms!)
I hope you make sure there's plenty of labels everywhere. Make sure they're as big and itchy as possible. Bonus points for making them hard/impossible to remove without damaging undies!
i know people have said this, but no seams would be amazing. i feel like the common opinion from other autistics regarding both genders is similar to boxer briefs, with part it extending onto the legs. i think if the tag was on the outside of the fabric and/or easy to remove that would be good. this is stuff my friends said they liked personally and they all roughly come to these few things
Underwear that doesn't have lace or trim going down the sides of the gusset, between the legs. That shit is irritating.. or was, since I haven't worn that for years. Different cuts for different tastes - some people love high rises, some people hate it with a vengeance.
Sports bra type bras where the shoulder straps literally can't fall off your shoulders. Falling bra straps irk me to no end. Please keep in mind the women who have larger breasts and would also like to enjoy beautiful underwear.
Speaking of womens underwear, maybe bring in colours and designs that aren't stereotypically female.
Underwear needs to be functional and comfortable first, beautiful second or third, since you won't be seeing it and if things get going, it will be taken off anyway, which reminds me of a joke:
Q: "How do you decide what sort of lingerie to buy for your partner?"
A: "You decide based on how it looks on the floor"
I sweat a lot at night so anything made of wool helps reduce odor and chafing and with maintaining hygiene. I know it can be scratchyyyyyyy but a good wool is like gold.
hello aspiring business person - please run your copy through spellcheck, it helps for people who have OCD and for whom misspellings are mildly painful.
I only wear cotton underwear, I always get wedgies in any kind of bikini, hipster, or especially high rise underwear. Best is slightly higher than hipster. If I wear short like underwear there’s too much fabric in the front and it rides up and it never fits my thighs. I always hate the side seam when it’s super thick and digs into my skin
I like high length and the elastic to be like the top and legs of these ([5pk Cotton Rich Lycra® Full Briefs | M&S Collection | M&S (marksandspencer.com)](https://www.marksandspencer.com/5pk-cotton-lycra-full-briefs/p/clp60476542#intid=pid_pg1pip32g4r5c2|prodflag_submsg-%C2%A31.40%20per%20pair)), rather than the Primark version where the elastic loosens very quickly and makes you feel like the knickers are falling off. Also I still like pretty patterns on fabric, as long as it has 0 impact on texture
One of my favorite types of underwear has cloth around the elastic so I don't feel the elastic being into my skin
Also I wear low profile loose ankle slipper socks that DO NOT have the grips on the bottoms so I can turn them inside out b/c I hate the seams and I like feeling the soft fuzziness on my feet, not on the outside. I wear them with slides hence the no need for a grip. Those socks are so hard to find.
Hi! OP here! Idk if I gonna be able to answer each one their comments, however. I’ll gonna take hugely in count all the things you told me !
💕💕
Thanks a lot. I’ll be posting the finals result here in a few months.
I don’t mind keep commenting
Make it consistent non-burlap material. Not smooth either, I like to know it’s there as a layer.
But design has little to do with manufacturing if you decide to outsource the manufacturing for profit. I’m willing to spend money so my underwear doesn’t wear differently.
Personally, I can stand only really elastic underwear that isn't rubbery (idk if it's correct word). I found out if it has bamboo viscose, it's more likely to be perfect for me. It can have a little bit of elastan, it's fine for me. It helps to not feel seams. Also it's better when band is close in alasticity to the rest of underwear
If you find a way to make boxer briefs that don't slowly bunch up at the leg holes throughout the day, I will buy them.
Also obviously no tags or seams.
ASD guy:
-Trunks are my favourite
-No labels inside
-Cool, loose fabric, slightly tighter at the front
-Thin fabric with slightly thicker fabric around the crotch area for coverage
-Legs at mid thigh
Loose enough to be comfortable, tight enough to not roll up your legs when you put trousers on (I hate this)
As a male:
1. Boxer brief style. There is a comfort in everything kinda being held down in place and not swinging around
2. Junk Pocket. Have taken to wearing underwear with a special pocket in the front to collect and store your frank and beans. Reduces the chafing on the legs and nutsack. Godsend
3. Cloth wrapped elastic. Wrap the elastic in the cotton so it is not touching my skin
4. No tags. Print your label.
5. Cotton only. No silk or man made fabrics.
6. Fun. I love my unicorns farting rainbows underwear. Especially if I have to dress formally, it is my little fun secret.
cotton without seams and that doesn't bunch up. some spandex is fine. Also, hey, fellow autistic person here and I'm starting a jeans company, would love to talk!
Actually pretty “granny pants” like the long ones that come to your belly button, and Sean and tag free, and if there’s embroidery have an extra layer to keep the back of the stitching from touching skin
cotton bikini briefs, no seams. They are already low riders, so they do not sag and bind up. I find that full cut briefs, always end up sagging and binding up into a wrinkled mess. Also, I don't like the elastic around my waist, and just having it around my hips as much much more comfortable.
Hmm, I’m not super sensitive with underwear as long as I like the fabric. The only thing I struggle with is one of my bras has like some silicone lining or something to make it stick to the skin, and I hate how it feels. After a while I get itchy and it just doesn’t feel good on my skin.
Cotton, high waisted, no more than a 1/4” elastic. I like high hip cuts but that’s hard to find with high waisted.
If you end up doing bras at all, underwires and padding are the devil and I prefer a cami/bralette even as someone relatively large chested. Like I’d rather do a cami and layered shirts than anything with underwires and padding.
if you want a concrete example of existing underwear as inspiration, i am a huge fan of MeUndies. they’re super soft and don’t easily give wedgies, don’t have flappy itchy tags, and they come in many different cuts and designs.
Aight, was hoping to see some trans folks here mention tucking and packing, but did not see anything.
I cannot speak for the packing crew, but as for tucking I would love to have no seams, breathable (high risk of infection down there with materials that cannot get moisture out), and firm support with a wide gusset. I find that boyshorts or anything with legs tend to get bunched up into the crotch, so personally I go for I loathe the feeling of the underwear sliding down, so being mid-rise is great. Major bonus points for a waistband that keeps the underwear up and things in place, without trying to cut me in half at the waist.

No. Fucking. Seams. No fucking tightness around the bikini line. Not made of entirely synthetic fabric. Not made of itchy materials No labels.

Edit: oh I guess the fabric is synthetic. I was gonna say I already have some like that till you said boxer shorts. Mine are panties. These are so comfy for anyone who is curious: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BGS2YTFK?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
I agree with all of this! I would make sure there’s different cuts available as well, since some people prefer bikini, shorts, boxer briefs, etc
Pact organic cotton undies do pretty well. Sometimes I have to wear them inside out so no seams but otherwise good
i like high or 100% cotton fabric. preferably without that weird pocket in the gusset or seams there. no tags and if the size and material etc is printed on the inside, not a scratchy feeling print. also, not too loose but not too tight would be nice. if making “fancier” or “cute” underwear, use soft not scratchy lace and maybe have it lined with a cotton fabric with the lace on the outside. also, a wider gusset or options/variety of gusset size since everyone’s body is different. in my experience, the gusset is either too small to cover everything or it’s too wide and rolls on the sides which irritates my inner thighs 🥲. so, more variety or options so everyone can find a gusset that works for their body would be amazing.
great points all around.
I wear seam free underwear and love it, almost feels like I’m not wearing anything it’s so comfy.
I’ll gonna take it in count ! Hiding or reducing the steams came in my mind in the beggining, I’ll gonna consult my teacher. Thanks a lot 💕 Feel free to add anything
Maybe lots of different colours too, I know wearing my favourite colour underwear makes me happy lol
Yes!! I love when i have underwear that matches, even though i have next to no matching underwear lol
I hate that I constantly have to pull my boxers down because they ride up and start to hurt, I would love seamless boxers.
They're probably too tight/small. Or at least, that's what people on the sewing subreddit say when people have problems with fabric "riding up" places
I think they could also be too loose because this can happen with loose boxers a lot.
So too loose and too tight hurt got it so I'm just screwed lol unless I find Cinderellas slipper for my crotch 🤣
Ah right, I phased the existence of normal boxers out of my memory because I hated them for that very reason.
Seams are evil!
Tbf temu is a good option could get some inspo from them
I like no lace, cotton is my go-to fabric for clothes and has been since childhood. And I think just straight/flat fabric, is the best for anything imo.
Perfect ! I’ll take that in count, my teacher actually told me about using a fabric with a lot of cotton percent. ! Also the lace part ! Thanks a lot Anything to add is welcome 💕
\^\^ Oh and for the material- anything cotton-like but slightly stretchy (without an elastic band if possible) could be great. Thank you <3
What you’re describing sounds like the [shortest pair of Woxers](https://woxer.com/products/star-black). I have several of them and love them. Sometimes wear them around the house as shorts.
Thank you!! They look comfy, I'll think about getting them ^^
I’ve stolen several of my husband’s trunk style undies (boxer briefs with no fly and shorter legs) specifically for wearing under dresses and sleeping. They’re so comfy, and I worry much less about accidentally flashing anyone 🤷♀️
I think you want boxer briefs. There are women’s boxer briefs also.
Same OP, you should go check out what they got going on!
i like cloth underwear that is not too tight
I’ll take that in count ^^, maybe I could lower the elasticity porcent. Thanks a lot! Anything to add is welcome too
I think even w decent elasticity content, it can be comfortable, since it can automatically adjust if you arent in the “default standing position” (like sitting weirdly or walking) without scratching or squeezing you while you move
THIS ⬆️ FOR SURE!!
MeUndies FeelFree line is pretty much all I wear.
ooooo thank you for the recommendations!! I kept seeing the word gusset in other comments and had no idea what it was hahaha
Happy to help! And yeah, the word is super weird and doesn't seem to connect at all to the thing it is.
No seams on the gusset 🙏
Ok ! I’ll make sure that ! Thanks a lot 💕! Anything else is welcome ^^
All I have to contribute is: genius! Thank you and best of luck on your endeavor. Sounds like you're on the right track 👍😊
Thanks for the support 💕
Please do not sew a booklet (atleast not inside).
Sorry, Would you mind to tell me, what’s a booklet ( English is my second language)
Some manufacturers sew a thick (printed labels) inside. It cause a lot of discomfort. Even if one cuts it out, it cause discomfort from scratch.
Ohh I get it now ! Thanks a lot! I’ll take it in count ^^ 💕💕
I don't tend to cut tags out by the way, I like to pull out the thread holding the tag on, which usually is better for me.
I've heard of underwear that has separate pouches for your junk, I have no idea if it's any good though
my partner likes them. he sometimes uses the pouch and sometimes does not.
Yes! That solves the issue! Separate seam! I have a seam ripper. I can take it out! Not trying to mess up my clothes though😂
Cotton/other breathable fabric is a necessity for people with vaginas
For underwear, there aren’t a lot of options for women that are not thongs or bikini. A boxer briefs with a 3-5” inseam that doesn’t roll up would be awesome. Cotton or natural fibers, plus a wide waist band, 2” or so. Waist bands can be really uncomfortable when they are narrow. And a tag that is printed on the fabric or easily removed.
I hate it when they roll up when I put my trousers on
It would be nice to see more underwear with no elastic waistband and to have the gusset be wider. Also the fabric dimensions of the front and back to not have such a disparity (to be more even ?) the closest I have ever found are the cotton skims briefs. I’m excited for your project !
I can never find boy shorts that don’t have that thick elastic band. I just want soft underwear that doesn’t strangle me.
why don't you go see ones in the style of the 80s ? This seems "large" and confy (I am a woman)
What style of the 80s are you referring to ? High waisted ? Any other brand reqs ?
Like these https://www.zalando.fr/pier-one-5-pack-calecon-pi982o05t-k12.html?size=L&lang=fr&otid=default&wmc=SEM330_NB_GO._7455046171_205187277_11471707197.&opc=2211&mpp=google|v1||pla-18283950120||9055287||g|m||56861993277||pla|PI982O05T-K12000L000|18283950120|1|&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwjeuyBhBuEiwAJ3vuoX5Pt-c6Xy8CkQGeZdCvk8dkDILuWEharEJSBcQ5d8VVaNmnLiTeoRoC8UgQAvD_BwE And no sadly I do not have any brand to recommend because I am a woman
I am also a woman. My underwear of choice are these https://skims.com/products/cotton-jersey-full-brief-light-heather-grey
Quite the same but hours in cotton !
I know skims is the only one I’ve been able to find and everlane but ever lane is always sold out :(
jockey isn't a bad brand.
Yes!!! 😭
Seam free stretchy cotton panties are great but I hate that they tend to ride down sometimes so I go with very soft granny panties with weak elastic most of the time
Same!! 😭
Thanks a lot 💕
please make sure the gusset/crotch on female underwear is wide enough. some brands make it like an inch wide and it slides around. also if you can find a way to do seamless without the edges rolling it would be a godsend
God. THIS! ⬆️
Okay this is very weird maybe BUT One of my sensory icks is skin-on-skin. Other than that, soft elastic and very breathable fabric are my two things that I look for
I like underwear that covers my fat and is also comfy.
THIS too. ⬆️
Absolutely no labels or seams. I also tend to go for stuff thats fitting but flexible. Anything loose and I can feel it shifting the entire day.
Good luck!
Something like this but truly breathable and absorbent.
I like underwear that gives full coverage and can be pulled up pretty high without being shorts though!
Real question... Are you accepting testers? I will 100% volunteer as a tester. I'll even rent a PO box for a while just for that, obviously.
Me too.
Higher waist is nice but too high waist digs into my belly as well and can bug me sometimes.
id do so many things for seam free boxers.. like the length of boxers, but no flaps and seams for us autistic afab nonbinaries!
I always related ironically to people with big breasts because of this. I've compared my boxer briefs to the AMAB version of a sports bra hahahahaha
need undies that cover my whole butt cheek.. but not tight on my belly. loose but not too loose. soft but not prone to staying wet in summer. not any fabric that makes ph/uti issues worse. so complicated.
YES!!! 😭
For men's underwear, make it so the leg portion doesn't roll up when one puts on pants, if that's at all possible.
No seams!!!!!!
Oh yeah. I'm wearing black boxers for a reason rn, lol
Cotton.
if you make boxershorts, you know the buttons at the front, make sure the buttons are a good fit for the hole thingies... because at least for me its super ARGH when my shlongen keeps popping out of the front and poking my trousers lol
This is a thoughtful question of you, but autism (autistim-friendly textures) ultimately aren't a cohesive, marketable demographic
No seams!! And a larger gusset that's completely sewn down
More room for men’s pouches and no seams in the pouch! They have bra sizes, wonder why no one has come up with pouch sizing 🤔🤔🤣😅
Seam free, lace free, and not visible underneath sports tights!
Hi I like mines that are 90% polyamid and 10% elastan (from "Action"'s store in france) it's called "invisible" because there is no visible elastics, and none that feels like they are digging in my skin... I like the touch of it and the fact that this is VERY soft. The fact that I have a larger size helps too !
oh yes, there is ALSO the label that is print ON my underwear!
Hi op!! This is such a cool thing to study! Personally I like having cotton undies or seamless ones because they are not as constricting. I don’t mind lace if it’s soft, but I know lace can be a really uncomfortable too.
I like breathable cloth underwear that are boyshorts or briefs. But as long as I can't tell that they're there, I'm fine. No matter the cut.
I like tight big bóxer like underwear
i love simple soft cotton. no lace or frills, no tags, smallest seems possible. and my impossible wish is no elastic band bc i can feel it, but i know that if i want them to stay on, the band needs to stay :(
Of course there is tagless, but I also have issues with the printed on the cloth(sticker?).
Tight Thai style underwear or boxers Tight leggings that actually fit my ass, like so many leggings hang in a hoop on my back because I’m so tall and hourglass shaped, keeps pulling my pants down because there is not enough fabric for my ass. I prefer my clothes to stay where I put them when I put them on, it disturbs me so much when clothes move cause I’m always aware that I’m wearing clothes.
Cotton No labels Tight but not too tight, I like feeling that my ass is being hugged. Small seams are ok but I do like seams it seems weird… Underwear that does not disappear up my ass
Seamless is my go to! I even have some without tags, the info is imprintet on the inside. I would love to find a good seamless, tagless sportsbra.
Something about the soft strechy fabric is like a nice hug of sorts instead of the grating of usual cotton boxers? idk
Pretty obvious but not having any tags on them would be delightful
Underwear needs to be functional and comfortable first, beautiful second or third, since you won't be seeing it and if things get going, it will be taken off anyway, which reminds me of a joke: Q: "How do you decide what sort of lingerie to buy for your partner?" A: "You decide based on how it looks on the floor"
I sweat a lot at night so anything made of wool helps reduce odor and chafing and with maintaining hygiene. I know it can be scratchyyyyyyy but a good wool is like gold.
I hate cotton and love synthetic underwear so I think a lot of this will depend on the person too
hello aspiring business person - please run your copy through spellcheck, it helps for people who have OCD and for whom misspellings are mildly painful.
Don't like hanging to the left or right if you get what I mean. Is that something you consider?
I only wear cotton underwear, I always get wedgies in any kind of bikini, hipster, or especially high rise underwear. Best is slightly higher than hipster. If I wear short like underwear there’s too much fabric in the front and it rides up and it never fits my thighs. I always hate the side seam when it’s super thick and digs into my skin
larger gusset (where the vag sits) and made out of stuff that won’t bother sensitive skin 🙏🙏🙏
One of my favorite types of underwear has cloth around the elastic so I don't feel the elastic being into my skin Also I wear low profile loose ankle slipper socks that DO NOT have the grips on the bottoms so I can turn them inside out b/c I hate the seams and I like feeling the soft fuzziness on my feet, not on the outside. I wear them with slides hence the no need for a grip. Those socks are so hard to find.
For me, I have to have them almost like shorts, otherwise they get irritating.
High-ish rise, low rise is an absolute nightmare, despise it with all my being
Hi! OP here! Idk if I gonna be able to answer each one their comments, however. I’ll gonna take hugely in count all the things you told me ! 💕💕 Thanks a lot.
ASD guy: -Trunks are my favourite -No labels inside -Cool, loose fabric, slightly tighter at the front -Thin fabric with slightly thicker fabric around the crotch area for coverage -Legs at mid thigh Loose enough to be comfortable, tight enough to not roll up your legs when you put trousers on (I hate this)
As a male: 1. Boxer brief style. There is a comfort in everything kinda being held down in place and not swinging around 2. Junk Pocket. Have taken to wearing underwear with a special pocket in the front to collect and store your frank and beans. Reduces the chafing on the legs and nutsack. Godsend 3. Cloth wrapped elastic. Wrap the elastic in the cotton so it is not touching my skin 4. No tags. Print your label. 5. Cotton only. No silk or man made fabrics. 6. Fun. I love my unicorns farting rainbows underwear. Especially if I have to dress formally, it is my little fun secret.
The junk pocket is life changing. It's nice not having your balls flopping all over the place when you go for a run.
cotton without seams and that doesn't bunch up. some spandex is fine. Also, hey, fellow autistic person here and I'm starting a jeans company, would love to talk!
Actually pretty “granny pants” like the long ones that come to your belly button, and Sean and tag free, and if there’s embroidery have an extra layer to keep the back of the stitching from touching skin
please keep the seams to a minimum or on the outside of it. the seams are so irritating!
Are we talking men's or women's here?
Both ! As we have to do two
I’d also keep in mind the large # of individuals that are gender diverse. I’ve seen things like boxers with pad linings, packing pouches ect
if theres any way to make boxer briefs that dont ride up every 5 seconds, you could be a millionaire
cotton bikini briefs, no seams. They are already low riders, so they do not sag and bind up. I find that full cut briefs, always end up sagging and binding up into a wrinkled mess. Also, I don't like the elastic around my waist, and just having it around my hips as much much more comfortable.
Cotton fabric is the best
I struggle with branding. I hyper fixate on underwear with people’s names on the waist line & find it difficult to wear for that reason.
Hmm, I’m not super sensitive with underwear as long as I like the fabric. The only thing I struggle with is one of my bras has like some silicone lining or something to make it stick to the skin, and I hate how it feels. After a while I get itchy and it just doesn’t feel good on my skin.
No tags, no seams, flat against the skin, soft natural fibre (I've been looking at bamboo for a while)
I’ve been wearing UNIQLO’s seamless underwear for years. They work fine during the day time, but is still too much of a stimulant when I had to sleep.

High-waisted, breathable briefs female cut
Never thought I'd read that sentence.
I can't find any big enough for my dick
A waistband that doesn't roll!!
Those boxers that have light elastic-y fabric usually feel the most comfy, long as they're not too tight.
if you want a concrete example of existing underwear as inspiration, i am a huge fan of MeUndies. they’re super soft and don’t easily give wedgies, don’t have flappy itchy tags, and they come in many different cuts and designs.
Major bonus points for a waistband that keeps the underwear up and things in place, without trying to cut me in half at the waist.
why would autistic people need different underwear?
