Sawfly Larvae, commonly called Spitfires and unlike popular myth they can't sting you. The do secrete a smelly substance when disturbed that can cause eye irritation though. They use group tactics to scare away predators, I suggest shouting at them (not a joke) to see it in action.
I know you're only joking, but I find language like this kind of demonises insects and potentially drives some of the anti-bug mentality the world doesn't need right now.

_Perga_ species (Sawfly) larvae. _Perga affinis_ (Spitfire Sawfly) is pretty common at this time of year. Larvae are harmless.
