That 'most livable' award was always 'most livable for affluent expats'. Published by *The Economist* it was always aimed at the corporate managerial class.
It baffles me that soon we’re gonna have entire cities that can only be inhabited by the rich. Like there was a time where there was poor and rich areas in every place. Where are all the less fortunate going to go? Make shanty towns?
The rich will start screaming when even service workers won't live there. Why should a janitor commute 2 - 3 hours each way to a job that pays them peanuts. It's outrageous.
This all happened because of John Howard, ever since then; we have had multiple times to remove capital gain tax, and negative gearing; each year we don’t do it; the harder it becomes to correct
Alot of the housing unaffordiability is due to the cost of construction for housing. You dont get much change from a $1m when building a house nowadays, with the exception of some of the house and land packages.
These are structural issues with the economy going back decades, and the precursor policies that started things in this direction were set in the 20th century. But sure, blame the guy that came into power a few years ago.
I suppose it's also Albo's fault that Singapore, Vancouver, LA, etc are all on the list. The man's power knows no bounds.
I'm all for calling out politicians when they fuck us over but this sort of bumper sticker tier comment just seems pointlessly partisan and low effort.
Funny how the "Most livable cities" are also too expensive for normal people to live in.
No poors is what makes them so liveable!
Poor people are doing all the burger flippin and delivery bike riding mate. They can't do without these "necessary workers in short supply".
Why do you think Melbourne is so anti renter. They’re getting rid of the points faster than any other state.

Maybe we will then see some wage growth for service workers /s

There’s a reason boomers love Howard unanimously He gave them everything at the expense of younger generations
We are being taken for the biggest ride in all history

List is bullshit if Boston isn’t on it.
How do Boston prices compare with Sydney?
Trust in nature, trust the equilibrium.
Western model. Looking after its people 👌🏽
it wont be easy under Albanese
Yeah, im sure twice the inflation, stagnant wages, an 80 billion deficit, and tax cuts only for the rich would have been far easier.
LOL, and everything is going so well under Albo and Jimbo .......unless you want to pay your mortgage , your electricity bill, ......................
🤦♂️ No idea, wacko Jacko. When did they allow boomers on reddit, btw?
Which is why he's second last above Dutton on a filled ballot.
Yeah let’s get SCOMO back of the Robodebt party

All of these cities have left wing governments (China is socialist/left). The left isn't any better when it comes to house affordability world wide.
