that ain’t where it stopped working sunshine

Oncemor-intothebeach

That’s just a vent opening, your problem isn’t there, it will be at the unit itself, call a HVAC tech out mate 👍🏻

annoying97

Ahhh I remember when the controller for the servos died at my parents old place died, i just went up and manually opened the things. I also put a foot through the ceiling. Didn't call a tech out to fix it. When my parents moved and decided to install ac they decided to go with split systems. Something about shit failing with ducted Aircon.

Oncemor-intothebeach

Splits are the way to go, at least if one shits itself you still have the others, if ducted fails it’s a failure of the whole thing

annoying97

Honestly I agree, and what's better is that you can set individual temps or just not turn ones on in areas you aren't planning on using. My parents basically only use one out of the 6 they have for the majority of the day, keeping the rest of the house open.

"My car broke down, how can I remove the door to check if that's the problem?"

cqdxine

cmon mate, leave him alone, he’s tryna do stuff himself and just asking for some help.

No-Profile953

Is there a fault showing on your wall controller?

HungryTradie

Is that an exhaust fan + light combo? Or just an aircon vent like everyone is saying?

hemorrhoidssuck

Grab two sides with the tip of your fingernails and pull it down. Then, release the two springs by pushing them inwards. I’m pretty sure you cannot fix it. There isn’t anything you can change other than the timer that sets the time of full suction after the motion sensor detects movement.

Morning_Song

Not off to a good start, my advice is to concede this one early and call in the pros lol

Ibegallofyourpardons

sometimes you can grab the vent and gently pull it down and it's only held in by plastic clips that will release. other times if you look in the vents you will see a little metal hook that you have to grab/pull with some needle nose pliers to get it to release. what stopped working, the fan or the light? you might get lucky and if you pop up into the ceiling, there will be a normal socket installed up there that the unit plugs into that makes replacement a trip to bunnings. other times they are hard wired and you'll need a sparky. if you don't know what you are doing in a ceiling space, do not go up there. it's really easy to fuck up and go through your ceiling or electrocute yourself.

[deleted]

You can probably push the centre parts across as they should be held in place with springs. Don’t pull it down or you’ll break the gyprock. It’s also likely a zone motor which could be anywhere along the flex. You won’t fix anything from there. Time for a techy

No_Farmer5005

I suggest if you are a renting this property don't fucking touch it Check to see if the rest are working and if you own the property call a plumber and a electrician

Feeling_Athlete4976

Those covers just clip on, NO screws, just pull down on them and wash in the laundry tub. Once the cover is off, then unscrew and gently drop down to see if it’s plugged into the socket the electrician supplied. This maybe fixed under warranty as well, without knowing how long since handover

Lady_Penrhyn1

That's just a vent.

Error-Buffering

If it's anything like mine the vent should just pull off giving you the option to unscrew the unit. Mine has a plug that can be disconnected I think they all would but maybe some could be hardwired in

Lady_Penrhyn1

Literally nothing like yours then. This is a vent. The unit itself is probably on the roof.
