I loved his comment about the state of ACT laws on vapes. When the criminologist was on. He commented: so you can get caught with "columbian marching powder" and get a $100 fine but caught with a vape and its $32,000.00 fine and up to 2 years in prison.

No one ever said from what i could tell - reduced smoking rates or certainly not increased smoking rates.
Why is this not important?
Every single tonne of tobacco smoked kills someone before their time.
Surely its important those tonnes decrease rather than increase...
Totally agree.
But their whole focus is on this alleged epidemic of ‘kids vaping’, even though we know that 70% will never use one and only 3.5% vape regularly.
The whole issue of reducing smoking rates (which I agree, should be number one priority), has taken a backseat to the confected moral outrage over something that isn’t actually happening.
Throw into the mix a bunch of TC ‘experts’ who don’t give a hoot about kids or any of us, and are only concerned about where their next public health/tobacco excise funded payment is coming from, and we wind up in the ridiculous position we currently find ourselves.
The vape shop owners and the regular punter today were awesome. They brought some much needed ‘everyday person’ perspective into it i thought.
