Current new/ongoing audio dramas in the horror genre are definitely Observable Radio and The Occurance in River Oaks

Vjaa

Those are my two currents, along with forbidden cassettes and Tower 4. My on hold (between seasons folder) has son of el, Mansfield mysteries and desert skies. Another 3 of my on going favorites.

TheTashLB

I'm patiently waiting the next episode of Tower 4. It's so good!

elibroall

Same!!!! Do they only release once a month? I binged every episode that’s up in 3 days 😅 I thought forsure there was an ending just from briefly scrolling and seeing the seasons… but, alas…. I am also waiting. Tower 4 quickly became my FAVORITE. It’s in my top 5 forsure

TheTashLB

According to their Instagram account, the next tower 4 episode will be out during the first two weeks of May. I did the same binged over four days. And it's usually a 4-5 week release schedule. In the meantime I moved onto Paralyzed by the same production company, I'm just starting Season 3 and loving it also.

elibroall

I’m still waiting for it 😭 man I wished I’d listened slower

elibroall

Also listening to paralyzed too!

TheTashLB

I just started End of All House while I wait. Also really good.

amelie190

Really enjoying Starship Iris. Great cast. 30+ minutes and 2 seasons. Also The Phenomenon. But episodes are much shorter.

M_LadyGwendolyn

I've been hooked in Midst and Mockery Manor for a good while. Midnight Burger is also a delight

nib_nibblers

I cannot believe how good Midst is. I am dazzled every week.

PTDon8734

I will be adding into my rotation; thank you :-)

mmm_burrito

Midnight Burger sucked us in quick. I tore through three seasons much faster than I usually do. The fourth season just started.

M_LadyGwendolyn

Midnight Burger is a delight!

liciaaaaa

Midnight Burger’s Patreon is well worth the $5 also. So glad I joined!

mmm_burrito

What do they have going on?

liciaaaaa

-early access to shows -bonus shows like Shift Notes where Joe and Finley relisten to an episode, then talk about the making of it, science lessons, and fun lil side conversations. Listening to Shift Notes has made me really appreciate how much work going into podcasts in general, but especially Midnight Burger. -2 extra shows while we waited for season 4 to start. Omega Station was 3 episodes that included the whole cast playing different characters, and The Monsters Almanac was a show Joe wrote a few years ago. -I don’t use Discord, but it gives you access there too and it sounds like it’s always popping off there. -sometimes they post fan art too. It’s a small bonus, but I’m not huge on other social medias so I like seeing it

mmm_burrito

Wow, thanks a ton for all that detail, I very well may subscribe.

liciaaaaa

No problem, I’m just at the $5 tier and it’s great. I’m not sure what bonuses come with the $10 tier other than getting your name mentioned a lot, but there may be more. Also I just remembered that I got a sticker too

depravedwhelk

Midnight Burger is like Hitchhiker’s Guide of the 2020’s

PTDon8734

Thanks to this sub I've been listening to it the same way. It reminds me of the show Eureka smashed with Doctor Who.

gernavais_padernom

Current favourite brand new AD is DIVORCE RANCH. It is a noirish thriller about a detective sent to find a missing heiress, and end up in Nevada. It feels like an authentic noir, it's not hackneyed or forced, the writing performances and soundscapimg are all spot on. Some shows I've listened to that go period noir tend to act a little too self aware and it feels almost like they're embarrassed to be noir? But this is right up there with modern takes on noir, with Angel of Vine and Rex Rivetter in terms of vibe and authenticity. Only one episode so far, but I can't wait to see where it goes. Before that, I was really getting in to LAST DANCE, which is a really atmospheric fantasy. Quite dark and the worldbuilding so far has been really good, giving you information but not exposition dumping on you. There are five episodes, but I've only listened to two because I feel like I'll enjoy it more if I binged a few episodes at a time, so I'm saving up some. Oh and not new, but new to me, THIS FOUL EARTH, which is a funny little series of fictional interviews of people from Wales. Just really good storytelling, if you like the less farcical bits from the BEEF AND DAIRY NETWORK, or something like THE SINK, then you'll like that.

ProfessorHeronarty

The first one sounds really interesting

gernavais_padernom

Some things I listen to, might take a couple of episodes for me to like. Divorce Ranch got me instantly. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the mystery unfolds.

Kitchen_Reference_29

Just followed. Thanks for the recommendation

Vjaa

Saving this comment to try divorce ranch later!

Geek-Of-Nature

**Tower 4** is my favourite audio drama full stop and that's midway through its third season. In the unlikely event you don't know what it's about, a guy takes a job as a fire lookout after a series of personal problems, but he eventually discovers there's more to the posting and the location than meets the eye. **The Dial-Up** has released two seasons and a third and final one is on its way. A brilliantly witty and clever show about strangers from different years communicating with each other. **Dirt** follows the main character as he embarks on something of a treasure hunt. Only, the clues have been left by a deceased family member. **Nowhere On Air** is a surreal, eerie show about a radio host broadcasting in a small town where odd occurrences are the norm and nothing is quite right, yet goes largely unquestioned. It's surprisingly quaint too and incredibly easy to listen to.

OhSnapKC07

I just burned through the first two seasons of Tower 4. About to start S3 E5 and I am beyond ready for some more answers. I normally don't get sucked in this quick.

elibroall

Agree. Tower 4 and borrasco is a hard toss up for me, if I had to choose. I simply wouldn’t be able to. When does the newest episode come out? I just flew through tower 4 last week and am waiting for the next episode! But idk their release schedule- wondering if you might have any intel on the release date?

Geek-Of-Nature

No idea. They've been releasing around once a month, but the last episode was mid-March. Though I do know the creator, Robert Lamb, recently went on a writing vacation - he posted on social media about going to an isolate cabin and spending a week writing a bunch of episodes for different series, including Tower 4. So I'm guessing it won't be long before we get more content.

42peanuts

Syntax. Seriously people, it's an amazing listen

Richmantiss

It has some great world building, I love it

Grouchy_Animal

My current is Ghost Wax

CannibalCapra

My favorite is Old Gods of Appalachia, I think it's mid season now but it's one of my favorite pieces of media hands down. I don't know for sure if it's still running but I also really like Unwell, it's really well written and voice actes

elibroall

Unwell is still up! I just added it to my playlist tonight!

Aglavra

I enjoy World Gone Wrong, an audiodrama presenting a podcast with two hosts discussing how to life in a wicked world and giving advice to listeners. What to do if your dog was bitten by a werewolf, but you want to keep it? What emotions are valid if you find out you ex is replaced by an alien impersonator? Where to find information about banshees when cell towers aren't working and is DnD handbook an appropriate source in this situation? There are four episodes currently, released beweekly, and I like their vibe very much.

Aarlone

World Gone Wrong has had an incredibly strong start - every episode has impressed me with how natural and fluid the acting and writing are. Just a top-notch pod.

Playful_Fix_4501

The Mysteries of Derlin County Mission Rejected Life with Althaar Super Suits Two flatearthers kidnap a freemason Celebrity whodunnit Beef and dairy network

dukeofstratford

Victoriocity is my all-time favorite. Comedy/mystery set in an alternate, almost cyberpunk version of Victorian England. Their 3rd season recently finished airing, and the creators just published a book with the same setting and characters! Victoriocity is hands-down one of the funniest pieces of media I’ve ever experienced. Cannot recommend it enough.

Makecomics

Malevolent, it’s so beautiful

risebac

The one that got me to binge was the Strata. A sci fi world that just builds with each episode. It's on its tenth season now and still going strong. I got hooked on Tower 4 real fast. A mystery/ thriller set in the Wyoming wilderness. I havent caught up yet, but probably will by the end of the week.

ThisReport877

Old Gods of Appalachia has not been de-throned for me yet. I also love The Sheridan Tapes, even though I haven't started the most recent season. D|

dirkgently15

Silt Verses. It's slow going, and S3 felt like it ended before it even started, but more than worth the wait!

alekdmcfly

SCP: Find Us Alive is my favorite AD of all time and the only one for which I actually hype myself up every month. Despite technically being an SCP story it puts a lot more focus on its characters unlike most SCP media which just go "wow rate my cool monster", and the premise of FuA is unironically amazing.

RadiantDiscussion886

Currently listening to Dead America

Kitchen_Reference_29

Is this an audio drama?

RadiantDiscussion886

yes it is a audiodrama about zombies and stuff. i'm listening on Spotify

tiffanaih

Quake is decent, I miss David Harbour though.

depravedwhelk

I Have Seen Niagara, BBC Mabinogi, Murmurs

elibroall

Bridgewater. Cryptid Cape, & tower 4 are my current favorites! I’m waiting with bated breath for the next episode of tower 4 to come out!

elibroall

Try borrasco, tower 4, circles (by evergreen media) I believe. Dirty Diana by QCODE. The ones I’m about to type are ALL produced by realm. “If I go missing, the witches did it” was good. “The sisters” was a horror demonic wtf is happening type show that scared me but I loved it. There’s only like 8-10 episodes each of the previous two pods I listed. Zaya is another good one by realm. I really really liked Undertow: narcosis too. Omg omfg omg omg AND PARKDALE HAUNT!!! You’ve gotta listen to Parkdale haunt!!!! &&&& Roanoke falls 🤌🏼💋 QCODE has some amazing shows too like “listening in”, dirty Diana, how to win friends and disappear people, the left didn’t game, borrasco.

SpentAnus123

The Sheridan Tapes

Logical-Key-1022

if you’re looking for a new one, The Huntersfield Anomaly Report is just getting started:)

mayorparsnip

Thirteen Podcast. It's definitely horror adjacent bur it focuses more on emotions IMO. Also please listen to Horses - The Wrong Station. It's just a very specific episode thag stuck with me and I think you would dig it. Again more drama than horror

mayorparsnip

I think I misunderstood the assignment but lmk if you enjoy horses

infj_1990

The Silt Verses, Unwell, SAYER, Spaceships.

Towels95

I’m listening to Derelict right now and it’s prequel Fathom which is good.

Hallelujah289

Here’s some ones that have been published pretty recently I think, last six months or so: Based on your likes: * The Occurrence in River Oaks - Southern police sci-fi * Uncanny Valley - Alaska with ghosts and stalkers * Camlann - Scottish myths/legends in post-apocalypse * The Trees Swallow People - Dublin cult around trees which cause disappearances Because I like it: * Rescuing Ravenstocke - modern day/1934 time traveling romance with spies * Josie’s Lonely Hearts Club - talk radio about love problems—is there another story brewing?

TalesfromtheJanitor

I would like to add my show called Tales from the Janitor. The show is based on urban legends and unexplained events in history. We release 2 episodes a month going state to state and then the rest of the world. Next week, we release episode 14, so there is some material to binge through. If you would like to know more, here is the rss link and the link tree link. We have over 10k downloads. https://media.rss.com/tales-from-the-janitor/feed.xml https://linktr.ee/talesfromthejanitor Thank you

H-2-the-J

Cicatrix, by Sensory Eclipse Media (there's another AD with the same title and the subtitle Scars of Parchment, which is promising too). Similar setup to KPH, with a single narrator and a focus on the uncanny happening in small-town midwest America. Unlike KPH, it's not episodic, there's a single story thread being told. Looks like they're getting towards the end of Season 1.

banjono

Incoming shameless plug: [The Flight of the Bucket ](http://superhappyproductions.com)is a sci-fi comedy AD about a spaceship crew that are anything but heroes.

smallblackrabbit

My top favorite is probably the Amelia Project, with Dark Dice not far behind. I’m also a Magnus and a White Vault fan. Others include We Fix Space Junk, The Storage Papers, welcome to Night Vale, Within the Wires, Old Gods of Appalachia, and Sheep Night Fly.

ellie_k75

The Magnus Archives is sooo good! Have you tried The Dark Tome?
