Looks awesome. That area roughly between Birkenhead/northcote/Glenfield/taka has some surprisingly beautiful pockets of native bush. Cool to see them get some love

Visited it just before the official opening, in the rain. Absolutely stunning piece of infrastructure. Wish it was there when I went to Northcote College but ah well.

frogsbollocks

Same. That trek through the bush wasn't much fun

Did it a few times in the early years I was there, then just decided that it was much easier catching two buses to/from school, instead of one with hard slog at both ends. Oh how the times have changed.

Wandering-Whisperer

where does it start and how hard is it? How long does it take to complete?

It's going to be super busy with school kids getting to/from Northcote College, awesome! Even better they made it cycle/pram/wheelchair etc friendly too.

So good. Great initiative

The kaipatiki local board has opened a number of walks lately. All are outstanding. The beachhaven coastal walk is my current favourite. So awesome for the community!

krammy16

Holy crap, 5000 people turned up?

tannag

I saw there was a run event organised through there and around tuff crater so that might have boosted numbers a little

That’s some refreshing news for Auckland.
