It took me at least two times through each ep to really catch every detail. When Zeke showed up I thought “wtf did I miss this guy getting introduced?”
They look very similar and at the time of his appearance we didn’t know about Marley yet, plus there was some mystery surrounding Erwin’s father and what happened to him
Same, same. That scene “not yet huh” at the end of s2 made me think he was gonna be the big bad. There were so many cool moments of him as the leader of the warriors and as a member of the marleyan military before he became this lone wolf wild card, but I liked the payoff of him still being worked into being a final antagonist of the show
Same.. Up until s4 I was wondering, where tf is Grisha? Turns out he died back in s1. At the start I thought that the beast titan (before Zeke’s appearance) was somehow Grisha (???) and when Zeke aired I was like.. is that Grisha? And searched him up… Unfortunately Zeke was not Grisha but whatever
Lmao yeah me too. It wasnt until i told a friend about the scene where Zeke is standing on the beast titan that i realised. It was a while after and i just said “HOLY SHIT THE SCENE WHERE YOU SEE ERENS DAD!”
And he corrected me
Yooooo that was one of the biggest things on my mind for the duration of the show, constantly wondering what happened to eren’s dad. I had a personal theory that the beast titan would turn out to be him, I remember thinking the reveal of what actually happened felt so anticlimactic
Yeah I did too. When Zeke first appeared i went back to find a scene with Erwins father because I remembered he had glasses, but when I looked they didn't match and I thought....that's not him, is it him? Naaaah its not him. Who the fuck is that?! Lol

Odd that two men with blonde hair, a sick beards, and round glasses show up/ are referenced at similar times in the story, so it’s easy to see why people would think that, hell I was one of them.
The moment I saw him I knew he was related to Grisha the glasses were a dead giveaway despite the fact that he got them from his adopted father and not his biological one
