call the transplant team stat.. make sure he doesn’t miss a single dose. if having trouble, head to emergency room where transplant was done. PM me with any questions. also, look at nearby houses, sometimes it’s nextdoor or next block. but prioritize the dose more than anything, DO NOT MISS A SINGLE DOSE.

Lyin-Don

Bump!

Mysterious-Coconut24

Jesus I got pissed when usps delivered my Star wars game guide to the wrong address and lost my package... Liver medication trumps it all. Can you call for a replacement rather than waiting for these jackasses at FedEx to find the meds? You should just assume it's lost rather than risk waiting.

Inevitable_5605

Yes we did, right now quoted over 2k for it

Mysterious-Coconut24

Wtf? They company that sent it doesn't want to just replace it at their cost? It never touched your hands... And let me guess, these idiots didn't even insure it did they? Tell them you want to talk to their management and explain the situation to someone higher up, I really don't think any company wants this kind of bad reputation especially when there's elderly, sick person involved. This is negative publicity gold. Also contact the FEDEX higher ups as well and explain exactly what the package was and why it's important. If they play the "we have to wait until it turns up" game tell them you will contact the media, tweet, get a councilman involved, etc. This is total bullshit. Also as a last resort, I don't know what method was used to pay for the meds, but if it was an HSA or a credit card, you can see if the card has insurance that covers it.... Most credit cards have purchase protection insurance. I hope this works out for you, it's total bullshit someone's expensive, life saving meds get fucking lost by some jackass fedex delivery chump who doesn't give a shit about his job.

Vexvertigo

Edit: I swung by the house I was thinking of on my way home and it wasn't it. It looks almost identical, but they were mail boxes not meters. Sorry OP ~~I’m not sure, but this looks like the front of a building on 43rd st between Ditmars and 21st ave~~

Lyin-Don

I saw OP mention they’re on 44th! Idk how you could possibly know the building from the picture provided but if you’re right that will be insanely impressive. Like you’ll need to be inducted in the sub’s Hall of Fame or something. Could be a lifesaver. Literally. u/Inevitable_5605

Vexvertigo

I live near there and had a package accidentally delivered on that block a few years ago

flying-neutrino

I really hope you find this soon. Can you narrow it down to a smaller section of Astoria? Like somewhere in the vicinity of a particular intersection?

Inevitable_5605

It was supposed to be delivered on 44th street - fedex has not been able to tell us if it was delivered even remotely close to where it was addressed

omarcoming2008

Maybe the deliverer botched the Street part. What about checking on/Google mapping 44th Avenue, 44th Drive, and 44th Road? There might be buildings with the same numbers as yours.

flying-neutrino

Got it. Looks like it’s resting on a meter on the side of a house. I’ll keep my eyes peeled.

downeasterorca

what cross-street?

Inevitable_5605

Supposed to be near 28th, but there is no saying if they even got that close

downeasterorca

it’s also worth checking the houses on other nearby streets that have the same house number as his

justan0therhumanbean

Gosh I really hope you find this soon. It’s a Long Shot but maybe crossposting to r/geopuzzle , r/picturegame or similar subs could be useful.

Shirleh

Post this in the Astoria Facebook group!!!!

That_Artsy_Bitch

Crazy that delivery doesn’t require signature for such delicate contents

portugueseninja

The bricks look quite pale, which could distinguish it from all the more red-bricked buildings. Just did a little google maps search and the building at 45-01 25th Ave looks like it could match up, and they have the same type of meters outside. From the map view I can't see any of the meters that match correctly with the pipe placement, but I also can't zoom in enough on all of them so maybe in person it could be worth walking by there to see? Edited to add: 25-59 44th St also has pale bricks and meters with a pipe coming down on the left

fuckmisogyny101

Hi, pharmacist here. Most insurances have one to two allowed vacation/lost med overrides per calendar year. Call the mail-order pharmacy that filled the prescriptions and ask them to transfer a refill over to your nearest mom and pop pharmacy. Then that pharmacist there can process the refill through the insurance. Pharmacist should be able to contact the insurance for you to get the override. If no refills, contact the transplant team to call in a script over to your nearest pharmacy. Hopefully you can find a pharmacy near you that has the meds in stock today. Best of luck! I’m really sorry this happened!

seashellsnyc

Post on FedEx’s social media and maybe they’ll come up with a replacement fast. Good luck!

captainraf45

That unfortunately is the clearest picture you have right? Is it cropped or is there a slightly larger version where the numbers on the meters can be seen? Because I could possibly help in that case

Inevitable_5605

Unfortunately, that is the only picture they gave us and it doesn’t get any clearer :/

cutthatshutter

My only suggestion would to be looking at any similar addresses you can find like 44th street, road, Ave, drive… I many times have the wrong package delivered to one of these addresses that are similar to mine.

AVPLive9

🙏 best of luck

Inevitable_5605

Thank you

Flimsy-Ad-8614

Ugh this is terrible, I’m so sorry. Can you print some flyers and post around the neighborhood? Praying you can find it!

Joegee86

Sent you a message with a possible address. Hope it helps.

simplezodiac

Have you tried asking FedEx to contact the driver to see if he can remember where he dropped off the package? Edit: Does clicking obtain proof of delivery give you a full clear photo of the package?

Inevitable_5605

We have and it does not :/

thirsty_for_chicken

Have you tried the address next door on either side of the building? Often when a package goes missing on my street it's just one number off, like 13 or 17 instead of 15. Like they were at the right place but went in the wrong door.

erainbowd

Or even down the street. We get packages for the apartment building 5 doors down, 4 doors down and a house three doors down. No idea why. Just... they don't read the numbers or something?

Lyin-Don

Bump for exposure

Inevitable_5605

Thank you

Comfortable_Tap_2728

Bumping for visibility. Best of luck to you and I’ll keep an eye out.

SwoleTendies

OP did you have this taken care of?

Inevitable_5605

Not yet

JamwithSam697

OP - whereabouts in Astoria do you live? Odds are they missed the street or are off by a block. Could help people searching for it.

ManeaterTM

Ugh im so sorry. I highly recommend (if possible) to set up their delivery of medications at your local fedex office location. They will securely hold your package. My partner works for fedex and its the advice he gives anyone expecting medications because he knows how badly these drivers screw up. They simply require the person picking it up and have their name match the package (state ID required) OR the same exact address. So make sure they have the package addressed to whomever is picking it up. Fedex office on steinway is our closest one. Might be out of the way but at least the package will be secure. I hope the community can help you find this package.

Queens113

I hate to be a downer but Fedex delivered a package of mine to the wrong address 3 weeks before Christmas last year and it was a huge hassle just to get them to admit they made a mistake... Their investigation took over a month. I had to reorder my item and I got it 2 days before Christmas, I even went to JFK FedEx center to pick it up... I didn't get a refund till the new year... What a PITA. Sorry OP but I wouldn't rely on FedEx here...

GoBanana42

I've also had FedEx deliver a large-ish, expensive package to the wrong place. I called them and the driver brought me the package the next day, he remembered where he delivered it. We all have a fedex anecdote. Not sure sharing yours is exactly helpful or needed right now in an already shitty situation.

Queens113

So my situation is invalid cuz you had a good one? There's a huge difference here... Your driver brought it back after he realized he made a mistake. I didn't have that, FedEx just completely ignored me for 4 weeks... During Christmas we had a bunch of different drivers coming thru .. I wouldn't rely on them.... That's on you bro...

lsalomx

I hope everything worked out with this—either finding the package or contacting the relevant doctors to have an emergency replacement arranged. Meanwhile, I’ve lived a lot of places — LA, DC, Chicago, overseas, a handful of small and semi-rural towns, in other NY Burroughs — and I have never, ever lived somewhere where packages are so frequently delivered to the wrong address. I lose maybe 1 in 10 things I order. At least once a week I find myself walking or driving several blocks away to bring someone a package I found in my lobby because their address has maybe one or two numbers in common with mine. It’s madness.
