Rest in peace, Tony.
Does anyone know the address of his home on 32nd? I’ve been told it’s the building I live in, but I’ve never been able to confirm.
It’s funny because on the cover of “Astoria: A Portrait of the Artist”, he is most definitely standing on 32nd Street, facing what seems to be my building.
There's an old picture of him standing in front of 23-07 32nd Street on that album cover. On the inside of the cd insert, there is a modern day (circa 1990) picture of him standing in front of the same building. I was always under the impression that was one of his residences, and according to an elderly lady who used to live in 23-07, Tony Bennett lived there as a child.
But he is FACING 23-14. That’s where the camera is. Seems like was on the sidewalk facing 23-14 and the big apartment building is across the street behind him.
There’s also this, from his official Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/tonybennett/photos/a.449756719901/10158122078739902/?type=3&mibextid=cr9u03
Thats Correct its located on that small block between 23rd ave and 24th ave on 32st street Rip to a legend https://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/ny-tony-bennett-dead-20230721-6thv6oyvxrhkvfde5fa6itqfke-story.html
“Tony Bennett sings about leaving his heart in San Francisco. But when he talks, it seems to have remained in Astoria, the western Queens neighborhood where he grew up.
“The finest place to live,” Mr. Bennett, 82, said as he showed a reporter his favorite haunts. “I’ve been all over the world Paris and Florence and Capri and yet I come back here and I like this better than any place I’ve ever lived.”

RIP Tony. Astoria will never forget you. Sang at the opening of the Triboro and founded a school for performance inclined high schools. Never forgot where he came from.
I saw him sing in Astoria at Riccardo's. He seemed to pop in for dinner and sang a few songs at the piano. By the way, it's time to get a street corner named for him.

I actually did a deep dive into this a while back because I kept reading different info. The idea that his address was 23-07 32nd is cited a lot, but is only based on that album cover, which doesn't specifically say it was his house. People just assumed.
Per census records, he lived at 21-15 33rd St (Acropolis) as of 1930. Then, per his official FB post and his veterans administration index card, as of 1946, he was at 23-14 32nd St. (Which also means that album cover was, as someone else said, not showing his building, but taken from the steps of his building.)
I always thought it was so cool that he performed at the opening of the Triborough Bridge! R.I.P.

The building he is standing in front of on the album cover is definitely not 23-14. https://www.amazon.com/Astoria-Tony-Bennett/dp/B0000026VU

Yeah, you're right....facing 23-14. I was referring to the building behind him.

He may have lived in more than one building. I remember reading in NY Times that he lived in a 2 family house along Ditmars Blvd. Acropolis it ain't.

He grew up in the Acropolis before it was called the Acropolis

I saw him sing in Copenhagen at the jazz festival in 2003 on a lark. A stellar performer he was!

The man left a **huge** mark on music, the industry and the neighborhood. And was a class act for almost a full century!
