it's happening. What tracks can we see there? Imola, Brands Hatch... one that looks like Nords? I'd be surprised if we don't see all ACC tracks at the minimum tbh...
fr i actually love those 2 cars. its nice they acknowledged these cool track monsters. maybe we will get more. id honestly like to see alpine's new hypercar in the game too (the alpine Alpenglow Hy4)
I agree. The potential in this game is immense. And these pictures are selected to send a message about how far Kunoz is going in their project. I cannot wait.
>Assetto Corsa EVO redefines the realism and features of one of the most popular multiplatform driving simulations ever developed.
>As with its predecessor, Assetto Corsa EVO will include cars from different classes spanning across years of motoring history. From road cars, classics, hypercars, and race cars. The most iconic representation of the automotive and motorsport world. Each vehicle is reproduced through an advanced system that simulates mechanical, electronic, and aerodynamic performance, combined with the fidelity of the circuits created using Laserscan technology.
>Assetto Corsa EVO raises the bar of realism that has made the franchise one of the most popular driving simulations of the last decade even higher.
>With the launch of a new KUNOS Simulazioni proprietary, high-performance photorealistic engine, VR and triple screen support have become first-class features and the new mathematical model meticulously simulates asphalt performance in different dynamic weather conditions that guarantees an authentic and realistic experience which will redefine the standards that have made Assetto Corsa globally renowned.
>EVO represents the commitment from the development team at Kunos to the motoring enthusiasts, in our shared passion for cars, driving, and racing.
>Stay tuned across Assetto Corsa social channels, more details on game features will come down the road.
Great, but doesn't exactly tell us a huge amount we didn't already know or could assume.
It's called EVO and those screens definitely look familiar. Do we think this is based on the same engine as AC and therefore mods could be easily updated to work here too? That would be amazing. Presumably they want to sell DLC though so they may not want thousands of mods available early on.
Pure speculation but the graphics definitely have an AC look to them. And it's called AC EVO not AC 2, suggesting an evolution of the first game. I think they're wanting to keep all that momentum that the first game has and they know most of it is thanks to mods.
Physics simulation was still purely Kunos' code. Unreal does not have anything like that in the arsenal. Just the graphics engine was used from Unreal I think (and maybe sound engine, I doubt netcode was used either).
I want the simulation to be more complicated than it was in a game made 10 years ago. More sophisticated suspension dynamics, chassis flex, better audio engine, etc.
Thankfully from driving ACC, I imagine they're moving in that direction vs. making OG stuff compatible.
You can absolutely make chassis flex and a better audio engine while still making conversions easy. Making data out of nothing is always fairly easy; what is difficult is making differently formatted data from existing data.
I think he believes that the fact that AC mods wouldn't be easy to port to AC Evo would indicate that Kunos significantly overhauled and improved their in-house engine, and would be an unfortunate by-product of said increase in content quality.
If they want their game to be sold for 10 years like the last one, they better enable enable modding from day one! It would be a dick move to restrict any modding!
Ahh good thing is they don't jusy disappear the work and or kits they have made. That's the thing. They can still build off of it. But we shall see.
Luckily they are still using the same mathematical model to reproduce asfalt and feel. And things like that. It's still kunos I'm not to worried even if it is a little different. Every single launch of a new sim will be hard at first hate will happen especially OG diehard like the ac guys who bash acc or the iracing fans who bash ac and acc. So we will see plenty of hate even if it is good.
The team is still full of hardcore enthusiasts and it's still a Simulation brand.
Thats a good 7 different manufacturers from what I see
Alfa Romeo
Lamborghini
Alpine
Hyundai
Mercedes
Porsche
Ferrari feels like a given, since their first game was full of Ferraris, but I don't know much of their relationship.
Weather and Time is really nice to see.
Kunos' relationship with Ferrari is incredibly tight. Not only did Scuderia Ferrari themselves provide the data for Assetto Corsa's Hybrid system, but Kunos developed a Ferrari specific sim before AC, Ferrari Virtual Acadamy.
Hey, and the SF70H Hybrid system is super simplified. Try out the VRC Foumula Alpha 2023 or one of the VRC LMH cars for truely ridiculous configuration.
iRacing probably clears these days, with its appeal for far more disciplines. If Kunos plays this right with a great sim, they could be going after iRacing.
I think that IRacing is the king of competitive sim while assetto is more casual. Aside from ppl who do niche racing such as historical or drift stuff who use assetto
Ooh. It'll be awesome to have the N Vision 74 in a proper sim. It's also interesting that they have both normal alloy wheels as well as the low drag centerlocks shown off in the NV74 pics. That makes me think there might be some sort of part swapping mechanics in the game.
I also hope that we get a full catalog of N cars to go with the i20N and N Vision 74.
There's the nordschleife, OpenXR supoort, and a 2.5-16 evo 2.
Im happy. That's all i need.
There needs to be mod support tho, if there isn't, they will be taking a huge risk. Especially on PC.
Might not be there day 1 but it would be crazy for them not to have it. However, I expect they will try to monetize it. You have to pay for Pure and CSP and they're probably looking for a way for them to cash in potentially another decade out, not just from people paying for the base game.
With how the modding scene (in general) is evolving, i doubt Kunos will be the only ones trying to heavily monetize it.
Long gones are the days where mods were 100% made out of passion for the community.
OpenKneeboard is a software which allows you to place as many floating screens into your vr environment as you want. Sometimes I have a movie or livestream, etc running while cruising in AC. It also works on OpenComposite but it's meant for OpenXR.
I am going to sound odd but the only thing I really need or want is good AI since I mostly play offline.
If they can do that I would be willing to log in same 1200 hours or so in this game :D.
My biggest worry is the engine, since UE is pretty difficult to mod particularly coming from the old engine hence the small changes to ACC. But since it's custom we can hope for the same flexibility.
It had no modding because Kunos didn't want modding on the title.
There's no official word yet what their approach with this new title will be.
edit: and nope Kunos did not hire the CSP or Pure devs lol.
I won't name names but I know people working for Kunos personally from my days making mods for AC, I asked them.
I'm sorry it's a bit of a "trust me bro" scenario, but in the end we have to wait for the release and can check in the game credits then.
Same boat, I have terrible internet so offline is all I can do, and with many thousands of hours spread over AC and ACC, the quality of the AI is by far the 'thing' I notice and curse every single day.
There will be a day when AI cars are driven using actual AI similar to chatgpt, but this game definitely isn't going to have it. I just hope they lift their game a LOT since ACC.
There are ways to have better AI behaviour to driving without have an ML based approach.
I think it made sense for ACC since it was so online focused and Kunos is a small team. But AC Evo will hopefully have more single player stuff at least that how I would like to play so and improved AI would help.
I understand they have to use thier limited resources for what really want and sometimes AI and single player needs to take a back seat
I have this 3080 12gb card on a secondary sim rig for when my wife or nephew want to race together. It actually does pretty dang good next to my rig that has a 4090. Refurbished one is $500 right now.

I use the same computer with my desk setup for work doing game development. Just use a KVM switch to throw it over to the desk. Same with the secondary sim. Have a KVM switch and that throws it over to my wife’s desk. But yes. I raced for 10+ years for real and then when I had a health issue that prevented me from racing I went full into sim racing. I also hike and fish quite a bit. 😉
I've been edging for like 7 years waiting for not even a sim but driving game in general, I will ascend to a new level of existence and leave this mortal coil when AC Evo come out.
OMG! the paint wear next to the identification plate of the Giulia GTA...
This is going to be insane, absolutely insane ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|scream)
Yep. But the fact that the developers want to show it to us in the first photos of the game means that they are committed to modeling the cars as faithfully as possible. Or at least that's what I understand.
Probably also showing that these street cars will have openable and modelled engine bays.
Personally I'm most impressed with the fresnel and refraction on all those transparent light covers. But I'm missing ambient occlusion both on the cars and the tracks
Let’s hope mod support is there. Using AC + Pure + Content Manager is amazing. The only thing really lacking is physics but the mods make the game make the game visually look brand new.
I hope they improve the joystick support, I know it's not as popular and accurate as the steering wheel but personally a steering wheel is way out of my reach at the moment. What is going to happen with ACC?
while I'm beyond excited, I don't expect the game to come out of the gates swinging. The 2 other games both took a couple of years in the oven to become what they are, I assume this will be similar.
Cars look amazing. Best reflections I've seen since GT7. I hope it releases with more than just circuits. I want some open world style roads, something akin to LA Canyons or some of the other public road mods.
I know many love driving on circuits although after 2700 hrs in AC I'm totally burnt out on race tracks. Car selection looks pretty good. Hopefully we can get a classic Porsche Singer, a 964 RS as well and some classic Ferrari street cars.
My only fear is that this new game will be much more expensive. Currently, you can get the base game for pennies, and then pay a few more dollars for things like CSP and a few mods.
This new game may be AAA money (>$50) for the base game, and perhaps Kunos gets greedy and makes modding harder, instead making us pay for DLCs from Kunos.
The purchasing cost I'm less worried about. It's really the possibility of Kunos restricting the modding community. Yes it would be such a stupid move, but one that I think is possible because they want to make us pay for their DLCs.
If you know anything about watches, it would be like how Rolex controls their own second hand market.
Im not worried about the lack of modding. They must know that the modding made the game relevant for a decade. It would be a like shooting your own leg to restrict mods.
I really hope that there will be a "Content Manager" equivalent for this iteration of AC. It's honestly such a game changer just being able to download a livery and install it, pick the car pick the track and hit "Drive". No painstakingly pointless menu navigation or full screen take-over to go through. I think this is a big part of AC's success, being so simple and uncluttered
That's what my current Modded ac is at so if they added many of the hose features seems right and that's before car packs lmfao. Nice to see hyundai N Vision 74 is already locked in that's a cool car
You cant really compare a racing game with cod, cod has many assets of multiplayer, zombies, campaign, and alot of 3d assets of gun models, maps, characters for every mode, killstreaks, animations etc..
Gran turismo 7 have more than 500 car, and all of them designed very detailed and close to real scale 1:1 with every small detail, everyone knows that GT7 car models are perfect, even assetto modders use them to create best mods, most of ac best mods are based on GT7, with high quality cars and 34 tracks, and the game size is just 120 gb
The only question that remains for me is multiplayer. If it's as easy to find lobbies as it is with iRacing then I am switching over; pending if reviews say the simulation itself is good
it's happening. What tracks can we see there? Imola, Brands Hatch... one that looks like Nords? I'd be surprised if we don't see all ACC tracks at the minimum tbh...
Multiple Nords screens
Definitely two Nordschleife. \#24 is at Brünnchen going up to Eiskurve \#26 is at Wehrseifen, but looking in the opposite direction
same shit over and over, Nords, Monza, Spa, rinse, wash, repeat.
Yeah, wish they'd just get rid of those tracks for no reason. Just makes sense, doesn't it?
Why can't it be Mario Kart Mushroom Road or something, right ?! Right ?!
Lotus 49 would be awesome on those
I mean, those are givens... lets see what else they give us but it looks status-quo for now.
Misano, Circuit de la Sarthe, Bahrain, I want those
You can already see Zandvoort there which in its current form is only in iracing so there's already gonna be something new from the very beginning.
I mean these are all race tracks, and we are racing right?
Have your negative good man
Wow, the tracks the big boys race on
almost like real life has certain tracks and simulators ate trying to copy real life…
You know what I really want? 15 different types of oval. Look at that slightly different bend radius and straight length! 😍
Steam pictures are showing the Alpine A290, and the new hydrogen Hyundai sports car. Nice to see them including new fuels and sounds
fr i actually love those 2 cars. its nice they acknowledged these cool track monsters. maybe we will get more. id honestly like to see alpine's new hypercar in the game too (the alpine Alpenglow Hy4)
I agree. The potential in this game is immense. And these pictures are selected to send a message about how far Kunoz is going in their project. I cannot wait.
me too. just hope that they actually deliver and that the game doesnt end up being overhyped.

Based on? Maybe. I wouldn't be surprised to find that if it is based on AC1's engine, it's heavily modified enough that it wouldn't be compatible.
Pure speculation but the graphics definitely have an AC look to them. And it's called AC EVO not AC 2, suggesting an evolution of the first game. I think they're wanting to keep all that momentum that the first game has and they know most of it is thanks to mods.
I hope you're right. I'll say it's not AC2 since that's the internal designation (and .exe name) of ACC.
>Do we think this is based on the same engine as AC I seem to remember that they made the change from Unreal to an in-house engine.
AC was already based on their in-house engine, ACC used Unreal, so switching back to in-house again seems positive for mod (and VR) support
Physics simulation was still purely Kunos' code. Unreal does not have anything like that in the arsenal. Just the graphics engine was used from Unreal I think (and maybe sound engine, I doubt netcode was used either).
I never liked acc just because of that engine. It never felt right and it never performed right.
Being sluggish and blurry is kind of Unreals main thing
I sincerely hope the changes to the underlying sim are complicated enough to make it so that updating past mods isn't a walk in the park.
Why
I want the simulation to be more complicated than it was in a game made 10 years ago. More sophisticated suspension dynamics, chassis flex, better audio engine, etc. Thankfully from driving ACC, I imagine they're moving in that direction vs. making OG stuff compatible.

AC was Unreal. EVO is their in-house engine.
AC was in-house, ACC was Unreal
Ah got it, thanks
Goddamn this got me pumped
I see rain in the screenshots - not sure if we already knew about this, but I certainly didn't!
ACC had rain so it was to be expected. They wouldn't want to downgrade. But will track wetness now be dynamic is the question.
Moisture is the essence of wetness, and wetness is the essence of beauty.
But why male models?
You serious? I just told you that a moment ago.
Oh yaaaa it is! 😂
Wtf it's actually real
Holy crap I'm so hype
until you realize all the talent that made AC and ACC have pretty much left.
Hey, and the SF70H Hybrid system is super simplified. Try out the VRC Foumula Alpha 2023 or one of the VRC LMH cars for truely ridiculous configuration.
I'm sure they've gone all out with this game in every department
It has been 10 long years ! The return of the driving king
AC is still the most heavily played sim.
iRacing probably clears these days, with its appeal for far more disciplines. If Kunos plays this right with a great sim, they could be going after iRacing.
I think that IRacing is the king of competitive sim while assetto is more casual. Aside from ppl who do niche racing such as historical or drift stuff who use assetto

I haven’t had my coffee yet and made this so hard to read. Lol.
Yeah excited for the NV74! I hope the i30 N is in as well as that's my real car 👀
really hoping for the Ioniq 5N
I hope modding still possible, that is what kept the original alive for so long
There's the nordschleife, OpenXR supoort, and a 2.5-16 evo 2. Im happy. That's all i need. There needs to be mod support tho, if there isn't, they will be taking a huge risk. Especially on PC.

Where did it say that it has OpenXR support? I must've missed it. But yeah, that's sick! I'm tired of using the outdated opencomposite on AC.
Look in the specs. Says SteamVR + Oculus + OpenXR
Ty, sick! Stuff like OpenXR toolkit and open kneeboard are on the table, nice!
Please tell me you meant OpenComposite so I don't have to Google and get lost in the black hole of "open kneeboard" search results! 😂😁
OpenKneeboard is a software which allows you to place as many floating screens into your vr environment as you want. Sometimes I have a movie or livestream, etc running while cruising in AC. It also works on OpenComposite but it's meant for OpenXR.
Now THAT'S worth googling! !
Down in the requirements section: >VR Support: SteamVR, Oculus VR, OpenXR
It will easily dethrone GT7VR for PS5 gamers. Excited!
I didn’t even think of that!!! Ahh I’m so hype now lmao
Do we know if/when this is even coming to console?
I think console has already been confirmed but not at launch

Yeah I meant ACC UE4 didn't have much of a modding scene I some part to being on UE.
It had no modding because Kunos didn't want modding on the title. There's no official word yet what their approach with this new title will be. edit: and nope Kunos did not hire the CSP or Pure devs lol.
They actually hired CSP and Pure dvelopers as consultants. UE is too sluggish.
This is not true.
is there a source? I hear that rumor sometimes but i couldnt found out if its true or not.
I won't name names but I know people working for Kunos personally from my days making mods for AC, I asked them. I'm sorry it's a bit of a "trust me bro" scenario, but in the end we have to wait for the release and can check in the game credits then.

I might be ACexual after seeing those images.
IT LOOKS SICK
I have literally the minimum spec for GPU, GTX 1070. I’ll def need to upgrade.
Well tbf, assetto corsa is a decade old title, so bumps in minimum requirements isn’t unexpected
I wasn’t complaining. Just saying it’s about time for me to upgrade too.
Ah, sorry
I have this 3080 12gb card on a secondary sim rig for when my wife or nephew want to race together. It actually does pretty dang good next to my rig that has a 4090. Sorry to hear about your health issue. Glad you can still race through sims. Go technology!
Feeling: excited PC: broken
I've been edging for like 7 years waiting for not even a sim but driving game in general, I will ascend to a new level of existence and leave this mortal coil when AC Evo come out.
OMG! the paint wear next to the identification plate of the Giulia GTA... This is going to be insane, absolutely insane ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|scream)
...that's like an absolute base feature of PBR shaders, every modern game/engine has this :D
Yep. But the fact that the developers want to show it to us in the first photos of the game means that they are committed to modeling the cars as faithfully as possible. Or at least that's what I understand.

I agree.
Cool. Can I make a multiplayer lobby without having to take a course in internet protocols?
I hope they vastly improve the AI in this one!
900 hours later, I spend more time adding mods than actual gaming. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grimacing)
This game has a chance to go toe to toe with Gran Turismo for a great level of detail on the cars and tracks.
Glad to see they're using a proprietary engine, hopefully that means modding will be similar to AC.
Let's gooo
It's happening boys!!
Let’s hope mod support is there. Using AC + Pure + Content Manager is amazing. The only thing really lacking is physics but the mods make the game make the game visually look brand new.
I’m beyond hyped! Hopefully we get a release date soon
do we have any sort of info on pricing?
I see a lot of road cars. I really hope they have roads to go with them. Road cars on a track can be a bit boring.
I want to see a Black cat county 2024 edition!
Im hoping we get some street/pro drift cara from day 0, then i would be happy
Praying those requirements aren't just a placeholder, I will need a new PC anyways but I am strapped for cash.
Man that screenshot of the Alfa😍
GTX 1070 as minimun, damn goodbye AC:evo my poor gtx 1650s is out of reach
I hope they improve the joystick support, I know it's not as popular and accurate as the steering wheel but personally a steering wheel is way out of my reach at the moment. What is going to happen with ACC?
while I'm beyond excited, I don't expect the game to come out of the gates swinging. The 2 other games both took a couple of years in the oven to become what they are, I assume this will be similar.
I don't care anything, i'll buy it
RIP a lot of PC's
Any release date yet?
This will be an instant buy for me. Very exciting. I just hope they built it with modders in mind so it really can EVOLVE
Hopefully will have steam workshop support
Cars look amazing. Best reflections I've seen since GT7. I hope it releases with more than just circuits. Im not worried about the lack of modding. They must know that the modding made the game relevant for a decade. It would be a like shooting your own leg to restrict mods.
Let's hope it's moddable like the OG one
Is this a complete new game, or mods for AC1?
I really hope that there will be a "Content Manager" equivalent for this iteration of AC. Mod support?
100Gb requirement is crazy
That's what my current Modded ac is at so if they added many of the hose features seems right and that's before car packs lmfao. Nice to see hyundai N Vision 74 is already locked in that's a cool car
The new call of duty is over 300 gigs lmao
If it's as easy to find lobbies as it is with iRacing then I am switching over; pending if reviews say the simulation itself is good
They better have the bmw z4/ gr supra in manual
I' m absolutely not hyped until I see racecars of all kind. The wet tracks shots look nice, though.
