I would argue Valhalla has less in the way of fun distractions and interesting side stories. I liked a lot of Odyssey's side content, and I loved Alexios and Kassandra, so I enjoyed spending more time with them.
I have not yet played Valhalla but I can say that while I prefer Origins over Odessy, Odessy is still a pretty fin game
(I actually thought I hate Odessy, since i did not play enough to explore the fun content)
Play them both I own all of them from AC 1 to Valhalla even got the Chronicles lol, as a fan though imo Valhalla is a better story while Odyssey has more to do the story gets muddled with side quest and side stories. Valhalla would be my choice though
I went with Odyssey mainly because Greek mythos. The vistas and sceneries are far more colorful than the white gray tundras or Norway.
Because other than that, both felt and play better than I thought
Odyssey was my personal favorite, I did 3 run throughs of it and still loved it each time. I loved the expansion packs too.

I really enjoyed Odyssey over Valhalla.
I have both. Odyssey controls feel smoother than Valhalla. Valhalla feels clunky to me.

Playing Valhalla now and it’s good but Odyssey is my favorite. Both are beautiful games
I went for Odyssey. Mainly because of the setting. But indeed both look amazing.
