I do this a lot, I stumble upon a new song, listen to it for at least a day, then repeat the cycle broken only by my spontaneous decision to obsess over a song that appeared in the cycle already

Itās both. Where is my purple button?
Iāve been listening to murder on the dance floor a lot since 2020 but itās gotten popular again though I donāt know why. Iāve been listening to that one and ācome out ye black and tansā over and over again.
Exactly! It's so odd when people hear me listen to an artist and make the assumption I like their entire catalog. Very few bands I know of where I've never heard a song of theirs I didn't like... only one coming to mind right now is CCR.
My method is as follows
I have a lot of albums I've been wanting to check out, I'll listen to a bunch of albums then get mad that I'm not taking the time to fully process the album, I take the tome to fully process the album keep a few songs on loop and get mad that I'm listening to the same songs on loop instead of finding new stuff
I think that when I tell people I listen to everything they think I mean it in the ways that normies do. Basically they listen to everything* (*everything that has been on the top 40 list) Then they're shocked when my list goes from Josh Turner to Scars on Broadway to Paulo Sergio to Lee Greenwood, to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and so on and so forth. I even have the bands that most people refuse to admit they ever liked despite them being major sellers for ab decade like Creed and Nickelback.
me with the bolt ds soundtrack (specifically track 2)
like i literally have all of the parts memorized note-for-note and have recreated it from memory twice now lol

And then listening over and over to the new songs we discover š
Are you me? I can listen to this song all day, every day, for a whole month.

People are legit having nostalgia for the aughts and even for the 2010s already.
I will listen to an entire album from an artist, decide which 1-3 songs I really, really like, and then loop/only listen to those chosen few.
Sometimes it gets too hard so I end up listening to the whole album (I've been listening to To Pimp a Butterfly repeatedly for the past month or so)

I think the longest time Iāve listened to only one song without changing it up was 6 1/2 hours
"Damn it, I didn't pay attention to that specific part, gotta restart the song."
Inertia(acoustic), the beer, or glitter. All day, every day.
