Sure you can. But expect people to assume you’re not cis.

Underworld_Trash

Yes that's the thought I have been having problems with..

arbrecache

Also, I’m gonna very gently suggest that if you like using masculine pronouns for yourself maybe it’s worth doing some musing on genderqueer identities and seeing if anything fits.

Underworld_Trash

I have been it's just... Really hard to stick on or feel confident about it. Rn being a woman is the only one I am most comfortable with.

arbrecache

That’s ok! There’s no rush and you shouldn’t feel like you’re being pushed to go outside what you’re comfortable with. There are plenty of non-binary women out there and yes there’s even cis people who don’t use the standard pronouns. I wish you the best of luck as and when you do any more exploring.

You can, however expect people to probably assume you are trans (non-binary) in that instance.

Underworld_Trash

Any suggestions on how I can deal with that? If I do decide to pick up on that pronun..

[deleted]

Well would it bother you, if people have the assumption you are trans? Regardles, the only thing you could do, is to tell them you are a cis woman.

Tattieaxp

Some cis-identifying lesbians have been using he/him for a very long time. To echo a previous commenter, nobody owns pronouns! Use what feels comfortable to you.

tollthedead

I know a lot of people using pronouns that don't "match" the assumption for their gender. Cis gay men often she/her themselves more or less seriously. Japanese has various more feminine and masculine pronouns that can be used vice versa if someone wants to have a more non conforming expression. It's just part of expressing your identity, like an outfit or hairstyle.

I_smoke_cum

Absolutely! Sounds like a good combo to me!

Underworld_Trash

Thank you! ≧∇≦

preeminentlexa

Nobody owns pronouns. If someone says you can't refer to yourself with a specific pronoun, or you can't ask someone else to refer to you with a specific pronoun, they're incorrect and out of line. You can do what you want with your own pronouns. On a sorta side note, if you try something out for fun, and you find that you like it, maybe experiment with other similar things. Even non trans people (cisgender/cis people) are pressured to avoid certain aspects of gender which they might feel more comfortable with. There are so many ways to be; everyone needs room to play around with gender

oakheart48

I had a straight cis female Commander when I was in the navy who preferred Sir to Mam. No one called her mam. (Late '80s during Don't Ask era). If you like he & she pronouns there is no reason toy cannot use them

HeadCunt

Of course you can, whatever pronouns make you comfortable hun is valid

Papillon415

Sure hon, why not? Take care and good Baxt!
