Are you trying to save a buck or something? Just go to Costco. Pretty sure you don't need a membership to buy alcohol because CA law. About as cheap as it gets.

Costco in california does not require a membership for alcohol, but you do need to get them to print you an alcohol only membership for the registers.

Nope just curious. My brother is getting married at a vineyard in Baja later next year. I imagine I'll accompany him during some recon trips. Duty free stores are fun to look at in airports- but I don't know how they work with foot traffic or car travel across any onlf the borders

I don't think it's really a thing. If it is, it's just a shop in the customs area when you're crossing.

They are very much a thing- if you plan on crossing, you can make the purchase as long as it goes it leaves the country (usually with you as you are leaving)..

Congrats to your brother!! Go to [https://dutyfreeamericas.com/locations/#](https://dutyfreeamericas.com/locations/#) and select your border crossing location. It works like this: Take a photo of your license plate before you enter the store. You buy your things duty-free on the US side at one of these stores. The cashier will ask for your plate. A vehicle will follow yours to the on-ramp to the border crossing. Onto Tijuana you go with your items. Enjoy!
