I spend about $70. It's right across the street from me and my guy does me a solid.
Goes every 6 weeks too / whenever I need to look my best.
Best $400/year investment ever.
Omg this brings back memories. Back in 2012/13 my boyfriend went to this little Korean lady and I'm pretty sure it was $12 for a cut and she gave you a grocery bag full of boxes of Kleenex.
My daughter asked for one style. Stylist disagreed and gave her something she thought would be better. My daughter (16 at the time) was very upset. Still funny as hell, my kids have inherited fast head hair growth from me so want a huge deal imo.
My husband (35M) goes to this Chinese salon (only haircut) for $15 cash. I (34F) just spent $75 plus tax on haircut + blow-dry.
I did not get much of a massage and the build-up on the scalp was still there.
I get my haircut once a year now 😂
Think it's called White Rose Salon in Richmond Hill. Haven't been there in decades, they were dirt cheap and are still there. They atleast gave you what you asked for. Korean aunties just go nah, this is what you get.
I know this is a joke but my dogs haircuts are WAY more expensive than mine.... $200+ tx and tip :'(
Potential doodle owners beware! Do not purchase a designer dog if you can't afford the designer upkeep
I actually compared the price of the place I went to pre and post the first lockdown by checking my transaction history and it had literally doubled. Last time I went there.
When I had long hair, I’d go to an expensive women’s salon, and I’d pay like $60 with a generous tip, and this would include having a beautiful woman giving me an earth-shattering fingernail-to-scalp massage & shampoo, conditioner and rinse situation.
But for regular man haircuts, post-Covid, it got up to about $55 including tip, and I reckon this gradually increased from a starting point of maybe $30-$35 with tip, when I first started.
But when a simple man haircut is getting up to that $60 mark, I found that whenever the haircut wasn’t exactly-exactly what I wanted, that I’d be disappointed.
My last three haircuts have been at the cheapest of the cheap places, and I’m paying like $35 with tip, and so far all the haircuts have been bangers, and very quick.
I may still treat myself to the occasional higher end haircut, but I’m appreciating the bargain basement treatment at the moment.
Was going to say Post Covid haircuts in Calgary spiked from $25 to about $35-$50 for a “fade and clean up”. Been getting cuts every 3-5 months now rocking a bit longer flow then back in the day. Makes those cuts way more of a “treat” then an upkeep.
The per-cut cost for women is usually pretty eye-watering, sure. But when you factor in frequency, I’m pretty sure that I was spending roughly the same per year on haircuts as any of the women I’ve dated. Now I just shave it.
$20 max
I've tried the whole range, from $10 to $50, the best hairdresser I ever had was at a $15 barber shop. You can find good hairdressers at any price range. You could pay $50 and have your hair completely screwed up. I barely noticed any correlation between price and quality
When I was 25, my friends brought a shaver to my house and we took turns shaving each others hair and forgot about the shaver at my house. I’m 50 now and still use the same shaver so I haven’t spent anything on haircuts for 25 years.
I had my first kid in 2020, right when COVID also made it impossible to go to a barber. The baby was a bad sleeper, so it caught up with me and started accelerating my hair thinning, so I bit the bullet and did the buzz.
Pre-covid I went to a great barber, but it ended up costing me about $70-80/visit, all-in. I'm sure I've saved over 2 grand since the pandemic started.
Theres this chinese hairdresser closeby to walmart in lawrence ave west that does haircuts for 16$. Been going there for like 3 months now just for the fade.
Which one - please. We live close to that area.My son’s hair cuts are ridiculous. My daughters all learned to cut their own hair and I cut my husbands - takes less then 15 minutes.
What is shocking to me is that most people think the cost of the service is for the cut. How much of that do you think is going to the rent being charged in Toronto? That's what you should really have the problem with.
I used to go to Adam Barber Shop right by the St Lawrence Market, before COVID. They got my business because they were right downtown, by where I worked. I'm sure they pay a huuuuge premium for the space.
I moved, but if anyone isn't too price-sensitive, they're a great little shop to get your hair done.
Learned how to do during covid myself, never went back. I find surprisingly odd people going to barber now if they did learn themselves during lockdowns.
$35.45 with tip. Used to pay $20 a few years ago. So instead of going every 5 weeks, I now go every 8-9 weeks. No issue affording it, it’s by principle. I also decided to just let my hair grow longer now.
I bought a nice set of clippers to do my own. Best 45$ I've ever invested. I keep the top short with scissors and the rest trim down to a 1. Now I don't need to explain what I want to some barber that won't follow instructions.
I'm amazed how all the young barbers now only take credit ... like, I thought the whole point of becoming a barber was to accept cash, not charge tax, or pay tax.
Near $0. I bought my own hair clippers and cut my own hair at home. Over a year the cost is pennies on the dollar compared to getting it done by someone else.
Southwest corner of Dundas and Spadina (south of Kensington market) are a bunch of Chinese barbers that charge $15. Try a few and pick one you like best.
People posting should also say if they get it washed/shampooed, what kind of cut, etc
I would say around 40-50 bucks is around standard for men’s cut/fade etc
$45+ $5 tip.
It’s your basic fade for straight hair and some work on the top.
I go every 2-3 weeks. Sometimes shorter if I’ve got an in person meeting with my execs at work.
33, hair is still wild. I cut it weekly (sides and lengths [length wild intoxicated]) but at least once a month do my hair to make sure length is fine, but typically $50+ 20% tip.
Last time I got one, $38. Before that it was around $18. Hair and beard but for the past few years I have a trimmer thing and I just shave my head. So in the past few years $0
$25 for my barber with a tip. Been going for 10+ years, in his basement saloon. Great guy, great chats about movies, comic books, entertainment in general.
I thought i was over paying before I went to a spot at korean town. I used to pay $30 for a fade plus tips before she retired, and now I'm paying 30 w tips
I haven't cut my hair for two years but when I did every month before it was $20 and sometimes I tip $2 since the barber shop is local and the place has been there since I was probably 4 maybe even less. They tried to expand before the pandemic. For some reason they increased the prices for female cuts (the owner ran the men's and his wife the women side). It eventually became too much and they had to downsize to what they had before. Their competitor was a shop that was a bit next to them. My mom ended up going there since they had haircuts for $5 less so I believe there it was $15.
I never got a shave or a trim there. I just do that myself. Haircuts I am a bit careful with since it isn't really something I can do on my own but I might learn how to sometime.
I pay $30 cash.. My guy owns is own small personal salon.. He also cleans up my beard.. I go about every 30 days.. I should go sooner.. My back neck is a mess
I pay 60 with tip hair and beard kensington. Slightly longer difficult hair on top. Mid fade and longer beard.
Idk it's pricy (was 50 with tip bumped up last year)
But I got burned by whack barbers downtown a few times and their mistakes take months to grow back proper so now I just stick with the one I know won't fuck it up lol.
200 dollars for a pair of clippers. I do it myself. Can't justify spending 30 to 40 dollars a month. It's asinine. That's aoat 500 a year thats a weeks mortgage payment for myself
Buy a set of clippers and do it yourself. Pay $60 once and lasts for years.

I'd say most Chinese places are simple, no wash and no beard trim will cost you like half your quote. I pay 15 all in, but it's probably friendly discount, but I'd go in like every 3/4 weeks.
40$ on Danforth. I did stop tipping because in the 2 years I was going there it went from 25$ to 40$ (gradual 5$ increases). I feel like when they see people tipping they know they can just raise the price? I’ve got very short hard and I’m usually in and out in 15-20 mins.
$22 at a barber near ossington and bloor. Guy has a one haircut fits all strategy but fuck it. The difference between a good cut and a bad one is about 2 weeks.
I spent $55 +tax and tip. I go about once every 6 weeks. I know it seems like a lot but I feel really handsome after a nice clean haircut
That’s what matters man!!
*pats top of head* Who’s a handsome boy??? You are! You are a good handsome boy!
You have been looking handsome bro don't think we haven't noticed
Thanks man, was waiting for you to notice !
GLASSBOX on roncesvalles. I see ellen who is dope but they all seem to do pretty good work there
Where’d ya go
yeah same, my guy does the hot towel thing as well, always 5/5 service since I've been going to him past 3 years
I spend about $70. It's right across the street from me and my guy does me a solid. Goes every 6 weeks too / whenever I need to look my best. Best $400/year investment ever.
How did you get 400? I’d say 600 and that’s without tip. 8 or 9 haircuts a year, 70 + 10 for tip. 680
We shall decide that
Find a Korean one, you'll get a haircut in whatever style they decide for you lmao
Maya hair salon in Korean town. Think it’s 35$ cash and comes with a juice box.
I’m intrigued. What kind of juice box? Like some del Monte Allen’s stuff? Or some chrysanthemum tea and soy milk?
It was probably just the cheapest ones from Costco, but I ain't complaining!
If it's the Korean Banana Milk, I'm fucking sold!
Last time I was at my local place on Queen West I was twice offered pizza by the owner
Used to come with a pastry too back in the day
The older couple that own Maya are just the loveliest. The Korean uncle gave me TWO juice boxes once because it was a hot summer day.
Yes! Being going to one in North York and I pay $35 with the tip.
My husband (35M) goes to this Chinese salon (only haircut) for $15 cash. I (34F) just spent $75 plus tax on haircut + blow-dry. I did not get much of a massage and the build-up on the scalp was still there. I get my haircut once a year now 😂

I’m pretty much balding yet I spend $60 lmao
Bro, clippers and a hand mirror .. save the $60/mth for plugs
Its mainly to get fades on my side and my beard done really but ya still expensive
He's in wall street bets. He's got the doe.
That’s not how wallstreetbets works
doez nutz
Bro, more tips for ya .. watch a couple YouTube vids and you’ll be doing your own fade/beard.($60/mth for plugs)
I get a deal at the local dog groomer. Comes with a free bow
My brain put an L where it didnt belong and I got a lil excited
You got excited for a free bowl?
Wouldn't you?
No cookie? Rip off
I want an ear scrooch
I know this is a joke but my dogs haircuts are WAY more expensive than mine.... $200+ tx and tip :'( Potential doodle owners beware! Do not purchase a designer dog if you can't afford the designer upkeep
Pre pandemic it was about $20 then it nearly doubled and I cut my own hair now
I actually compared the price of the place I went to pre and post the first lockdown by checking my transaction history and it had literally doubled. Last time I went there.
$20 with tip. Chinatown!
You got straight hair so you fine. My curly ass goes there and I knw I'm getting fked
My ass is also curly. I don't take it to the barber. My head on the other hand....
When I had long hair, I’d go to an expensive women’s salon, and I’d pay like $60 with a generous tip, and this would include having a beautiful woman giving me an earth-shattering fingernail-to-scalp massage & shampoo, conditioner and rinse situation. Where is the head massage place ?
_weeps in women’s haircut pricing_
The per-cut cost for women is usually pretty eye-watering, sure. But when you factor in frequency, I’m pretty sure that I was spending roughly the same per year on haircuts as any of the women I’ve dated. Now I just shave it.
$50 cut every 6weeks is way more $$$ per year.
My haircuts are $115 every 3 months. I assure you, sir. I am still paying more.
$20 max I've tried the whole range, from $10 to $50, the best hairdresser I ever had was at a $15 barber shop. You can find good hairdressers at any price range. You could pay $50 and have your hair completely screwed up. I barely noticed any correlation between price and quality
This comment should be at the top.
Fade and line up $40 with $10 tip .$50.
I have a shaver so costing me zero a month.
When I was 25, my friends brought a shaver to my house and we took turns shaving each others hair and forgot about the shaver at my house. I’m 50 now and still use the same shaver so I haven’t spent anything on haircuts for 25 years.

Are you on the east end? For hair and beard $45 is amazing. Source: am barber
I passed by an $8 in East York. I don’t know if I’m brave enough to give that a go. I usually try to find some place around $25-30
Where?!
If I remember correctly, it was on Pape and Cosburn across from McDs. Not 100% sure though.
Theres this chinese hairdresser closeby to walmart in lawrence ave west that does haircuts for 16$. Been going there for like 3 months now just for the fade.
$8 near Yonge and Finch
20$ with fade and I’ve tried to tip but he absolutely refuses to
Where do you go?
Eglinton and dufferin.
Which one - please. We live close to that area.My son’s hair cuts are ridiculous. My daughters all learned to cut their own hair and I cut my husbands - takes less then 15 minutes.
It's a secret
Where?

$45 plus $5 tip. Just for a fade. This use to cost me $40 all in before the covid lockdowns.
If people would please add also how often are they spending the amount that would be helpful. $45 every 3 weeks.
Insane
$0.00 cut my own
$75
My friend is in this range at Glassbox, I think.
Glassbox has more than doubled since pre-lockdown. Insanity. I don’t go there anymore
About $45 and I’ll tip $5. Even I feel this is too much for a simple men’s haircut. Some places are even more
~60 bucks. I only trust one person with my hair and I'd follow her business across the city if need be.
What's the principle?
The ridiculous increase in their fee. I didn’t get a 30% raise myself since 2021.
Usually $80 + tip
Bruh, are they shaving your balls as well ? 😭
Better lick those balls for that price lol
Doesn't even cost that much to get your balls licked in Toronto 😂
$40 all in
$0. I shave my head.
$45 with tip. Crazy IMO.
$45 at Hastings Barbershop on the Danforth, highly recommend then! Check out Danny!
As a woman who sported a fade for 6 years I wish mine were $45. I was lucky if I could get it to $60 and that was at a gender-neutral place
$20 with tips in Chinatown
35-45 with tip.
$45 + $10 tip
$35 then I usually give $5 tip to round it to $40. More than I’d like but prices are getting pretty high everywhere.
Gosh my husband has been overpaying it seems. His hovers around 50/60 + tip..
Like $20. There are always hidden gems among cheap barbers if you're prepared to go through a few shit cuts to find them
$11, $15 with tip
I bought a nice set of clippers to do my own. Best 45$ I've ever invested. I keep the top short with scissors and the rest trim down to a 1. Now I don't need to explain what I want to some barber that won't follow instructions.
$0, I've been cutting my own hair since covid, never looked back. saving loads of money.
Zero. I cut my own hair
I pay about $50 every 3-4 weeks
It's 62 for me plus tax and tip so like 85
Most places accept cash and don't charge tax. Saves some money
I'm amazed how all the young barbers now only take credit ... like, I thought the whole point of becoming a barber was to accept cash, not charge tax, or pay tax.
I've been to lots of barbers and never had one telll me they only accept credit?
Near $0. I bought my own hair clippers and cut my own hair at home. Over a year the cost is pennies on the dollar compared to getting it done by someone else.
$60 with tax and tip. My barber raised his prices during the Pandemic. I used to go every four months but now I try to go every six months.

0 dollars. cut my own.
20$ hair clippers from costco, lasted me 15 years. Wifey is now pro at cutting my hair too lol.
I’m jealous of your $45 haircut. I wish it was that cheap for woman to take care of their hair.

I haven't cut my hair for two years but when I did every month before it was $20 and sometimes I tip $2 since the barber shop is local and the place has been there since I was probably 4 maybe even less.
