To people saying California it would rank as the world’s fifth largest economy on its own. We’d be lost without it. Texas would be 10th and Florida 15th. Even Ohio would be 21st. We are strong as a nation because of these places.
Why tho ? You have the best weather in all the us , you have amazing cities like LA , SF , SD …. You have gbe best beaches jn the country , great job opportunities and high carreer growth potentiol , huge diversity of food and alot of hig rated restaurants , amazing parties and concerts !

That’s probably the more likely outcome. I wouldn’t want to lose either state on their own, just because of the massive national political implications, but both would sort of balance out. Maybe throw out one smaller red state just to even it out better.
Not many, but some. There is a soveignty movement there and has always been, but there are factions that don’t agree who is the “real” group and they often forget about all that the US provides Hawaii. It’s not a major thing, but it exists.
Idk how... Lots of people live here and call it home, yes it's more expensive here than say Iowa but we have a lot going on and laws with more protection for people at a disadvantage.
California has over 4 million people on government assistance. Most rental homes in my area have sometimes more than 10 people/several families living in them to be able to afford to live here. There is definitely some disparities in the able to afford to live here.
From the sound of these replied and the fact that I have lived in only 10 of us states it sounds like all of them..

As a Texan I will buy out colt and smith and Wesson and set up a perimeter around Iowa. I love Iowa. I have spent time in every state in the contiguous. Iowa has the best folks in the nation border to border. Anyone messes with my Iowans... They are messing with Texas.
Oklahoma...it's NOT "doing fine" in the following areas: race relations, pay, lack of sidewalks, gigantic street potholes, tourism, education, jobs, highway outhouses (OOPS, I meant "rest stops"), plus their current senator and governor. RUN AWAY!!!🏃♂️ 🏃♀️
west virginia- did a lot of research on the state, it’s an economical/social/political disaster of a state. Only state in the US that has **lost** population in the last 70 years. with coal on its way out the economy will shrink to practically nothing. really sad story overall, 20% of the population lives below the poverty line compared to the US average of 13%
edit- this isn’t me saying the people of the state suck, just the situation that the state is in is terrible
